Think of Ye Old as a boutique booze shop. Small in size but impressive in selection, especially for whiskey and craft beer. Honestly, Ye Old has one of the better craft beer selections in the state, meticulously curated by the manager Nathan, who's an enormous craft beer fan himself. And the whiskey selection is world class, thanks to the owner being one the best whiskey retailers in the state through his many stores. This is a hidden gem in Wallingford with a loyal following among discerning drinkers in the area. Another term for it is "honey hole."

I visit the one by my house pretty frequently because it is large and has a huge selection. The problem with the large store is they are well known and sell out of the good stuff quickly. I was passed along the secret of Ye Old in West Haven that they tend to keep items I am looking for in stock. Ye Old does not get the same clientele that I have to compete with at the larger store. I can usually find exactly what I am looking for, and in decent quantity. When I go in, I usually ask for Brandon as well. He is very knowledgeable and tends to have the same taste as myself and can assist me with new and interesting items. Whenever I am in the area I try to stop in, even if I don't need anything, just to stock up on the basics. Don't let the size fool you, this shop is a goldmine for your needs.
