I started ordering from these guys at the beginning of COVID. They are what bodegas are all about. You can order the iconic NYC BEC or any other number of breakfast sandwiches or burritos. You can order their chopped cheese or their chicken over rice plates. I love the "make your own sandwich" option, where you can choose your meat, cheese, toppings, and whether you want it hot or cold. I love their turkey sandwiches and love their hot sandwiches. Most recently I got a bologna sandwich with a fried egg, and it was gooey and full of flavor. They also have tons of chips, drinks, and other grocery items. After periodically ordering from Savory Deli over the past year, they've definitely earned a spot in my rotation. They have been consistent when it comes to quick delivery and the order being correct. They make solid egg + meat + cheese breakfast sandwiches, I am about their subs, and they have good coffee (delivered wrapped to ensure no spills + they do light & sweet right!) For household restocks, they have a huge selection of household, grocery and pantry items. Milk arrives fresh and not past the expiration date, bread arrives not squished, and eggs arrive not cracked! Fresh fruit can be a little iffy...but the deli items (both on sandwiches and for "1/2 lb o' this, 1/2 lb o' that") are fresh and of good quality). I've also never had a problem with the wrong scent / type of detergent or other cleaner being brought. The delivery guys range from perfectly fine/no complaints to flat out friendly and enthusiastic. And did I mention how quick they are? They might not be the place to do order ahead (read: if you order lunch while you're on your mid-morning Zoom, be prepared to have that order at your door quick and pop it in the fridge). But other than that Savory Deli is on my short list for quick, good eats and household restocks. read more

Ordered their much raved about chicken over rice at an ungodly hour at night via seamless - feel like a total a hole, because I didn't realize it was raining. Food came right on time, the delivery person was very sweet, it came hot, and packaged well against potential spills. The food itself definitely deserves the positive reviews - It is very solid and delicious halal food, - nice big fresh chunks of cucumber, good hot sauce, nice rice that isn't too oily, all veggies were fresh. The chicken was tasty and the right texture, not dry or gristly/fatty. All things I had added to my rice platter on the drop down menu were included. The pita bread I added was also super tasty - like it had been lightly salted a bit and put on the grill or something. Def going to order or pick up extra next time. It's real food, not mystery meat and wilted veggies and the large will probably feed you for two meals. They will charge you and skimp you on everything but not here! Now the main reason for this review! My bf and I were excited to be able to get halal guys delivered on Postmates However, Postmates be buggin' with the fees. Decided that since the sandwiches were great here, I had to try the Halal! I decided to try the chicken and rice after reading so many good reviews from this site. The order came very fast, the chicken and rice itself was definitely nothing to rave about, the chicken tasted old and dry, also they didn't put enough chicken for the amount of rice that was on that plate. They basically filled the plate up with rice and then threw a couple of pieces of mediocre chicken on top. So, I'll stick to the (many) good halal carts on the streets for my halal chicken and rice cravings. This was my first and probably last time ordering rice from a deli. These folks really make an effort! The cook had added sauce when I asked not to, and the man behind the counter (one of the two I always see) stepped over and asked the cook to make me a new one. He took the time to make sure I got the right order. I really respect that level of care and attention from a corner store. And looking around, the police from the station across the street stop in for their breaks, folks from the neighborhood say hello, and on weekdays students grab their snacks from here.
