I love the variety, selection and quality of food at Aviv. Their bagels aren't my favourite, but they have great quiches, and often at work we get their cakes for various occasions and they never disappoint. However ... with all of that said, the only real negative I can say is that they are a tad overpriced and to me, it lets them down. I also happened to buy a birthday cake, a mini quiche and a cookie and I had some sticker shock for sure. When the cookie was rung up and it said $5, I thought that was the mini quiche and cookie added up together. So that day I spent $51 and when I was leaving, I asked if there was a bag to put the cake in. The only bags were the cloth ones, and they were going to charge me .50c for one when I just spent $51. I had to do a whole separate transaction on EFT-POS just to pay for this .50c bag. I feel that not only are they a bit overpriced, but they need to use common sense when charging for a bag after someone has spent a certain amount. It's a bit off putting, however I'm sure the lure of their bubka (the best I've ever eaten anywhere) will get me back there eventually down the road ...

Until I book that flight I have found Melbourne's contender in the challenge and it is located inside what some say is also one of the best places to buy bagels in town, Aviv's. If you are planning to have people over for brunch I highly recommend pre ordering some mini bagels. Your guests will be as happy as I am when I go to someone's house for brunch and I see those little circles of holy dough.

This place used to be so good many many years ago when I was a teenager. We used to come here for…read moretheir delicious pies, fresh breads and sweets. NOW omg stale galore the food is absolutely I literally put it all in the trash. Such a waste of money. Owned by a bunch of Asians now. You can tell when you taste stuff that's it's not fresh and it got more sugar than any thing like the sugar is literally crunching in your mouth. So gross! I'm making an official complaint about this place. I really hope they close down soon. Please if you see this review take your money elsewhere. Don't waste your money here it'll end up in the trash! Oh and they he a $10 minimum when you use card to pay otherwise they charge you a fee. So ridiculous! I really regret coming to this place. I was hoping it was as good as I remember but boy was I so wrong.

This place has great hours! Walking back from Elwood Village after nabbing a few items to take home…read more(like manuka honey), I had to stop by and try something. Those something(s) included a sticky toffee cake and a few tarts, shared. Spotted pavlovas, various cookies, etc. Not bad!!! I have a strong feeling that the breads are what are the largest sellers here, but there was a standing case full of pies and various cakes, and the variety here is not quite as good as Cake Street in St Kilda's, but definitely a cut above. I only wished the portions were a bit larger for the price (yeah, AU is pricey, 'tis true). The options were impressive for a small corner place. Across the street from both turtle cafe and Cafe de Cuba, at the corner of Broadway and GlenHuntly Roads, roundabout.
