    mixed plate-yum!

Flavor, friendliness, flair. Those are the three words I would use to describe this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a good meal. You order at the counter, they bring your dish to the table, and you go back to the counter to pay when you are done. Menu is full of delicious options, but most of our party ate gyros and cous cous. The plates were so packed with flavor, especially the saffron on the cous cous which I loved. One person's dish took longer to come out than we expected (out of a certain protein), but our server was transparent. She also went above and beyond by giving us some mint tea for the wait. My only regret is not getting the baklava. I was too stuffed by the generous portions to order this. If you are in Quebec City and looking for a place to share a delicious meal with friends, this is the spot.

Fast casual Moroccan restaurant in a vibrant neighborhood. Friendly and quick service with excellent food. I highly recommend the lamb tagine and their merguez sausages. Pairs well with a pot of mint tea.

    Gyros plate and falafel

Falafel was by far the best thing I ate - and some of the best flavored falafel I've ever had Gyros meat was average but the side salads really elevated the dish

The food is really good but the waiter was taking a while to bring stuff a forgetting something's but overall really good and definitely worth a try

Great tea served to me while I waited for my order

What an amazing flavor! The service is fantastic and they are very accommodating. The restaurant is nicely decorated with very happy ambiance. I would absolutely recommend this place

    Mint tea

We ordered a pastilla, some delicious mint tea, hummus, and some beet and carrot salads. It was all wonderful and delicious, and the staff were very kind.

I had to attack the meat first. It fell off the bone but was overly salty.

I love Yelp and tend to trust the reviews by fellow Yelpers here very much. Unfortunately this time, I'm going to have to strongly disagree with the 4.5 star rating that this place has, I feel like the reviews must come from locals and "friends of the restaurant," as that is who they seem to cater to and who we saw inside. The menu is all French, which is fine, this is Quebec after all. Don't expect any assistance from the bilingual cashier, we were not offered drinks or the vaunted mint tea that everyone talks about. I guess you have to ask? Now I wonder if I got screwed on my bill too.... I ended up ordering a lamb shank plate where you get 2 sides included. The hummus tasted off, almost like plastic. I couldn't quite put a finger on the flavor. There is a mayo based white sauce that was probably an attempt at the garlicky shawarma sauce we all love, but it failed miserably at that. The rice was so-so and took up most of the plate. That tells you something right there. I will say that the cold beans (not really chick peas) were pretty good and the cous cous was decent. The lamb? It tasted salty but it did fall off the bone and lamb is always pretty good. If it weren't for the complete lack of service and hostile feeling we got despite giving $40 of our hard earned money for 2 plates that were 70% rice and 2 bottles of water, I'd give 2 stars for the lamb and sides. Don't be fooled by the ratings here like we were! If you're a visitor, you will not be welcome and will not have a pleasant meal or experience. Nor will you have a good value for the money, which is what brought us here in the first place. Stick to the cliche bistros on the tourist strip for a decent (if predictable) meal, or (I hate to say it) go to McDonald's if you're tight on cash and want to eat as cheaply as possibly in Quebec. If you go before 8 PM, you can at least stop at the SAQ (liquor store) and make yourself forget that you came to this establishment.

Great ambiance, good service, quality food! Very friendly and helpful staff :) I also had the Soupe Harira which was a great appetizer

Great place for a healthy and delicious meal! I ordered the chicken with three sides of your choice and I chose the beet salad, tabouli and chickpea salad! Everything was delicious. We also ordered the falafel wrap and the flatbread was nice and crunchy! Affordable and close to where we were staying!

    Yum!

It opens late and the food comforts you after long day at work! It's so nice to have hot tasty filling food after walking in windy weather.

Located up a small road off of Rue Saint-Jean, the restaurant is but a small pocket…read more I came for the lamb couscous but apparently they don't serve that anymore (despite it still being on the menu). I opted for the prince's couscous which had lamb and chicken, she got the pastilla. We also got some Moroccan mint tea. The tea came out pretty sweet, like a southern sweet tea. But the mint was fresh and tasted great. Unfortunately, we had to suffer through some fairly loud and high-pitched Moroccan music while waiting on our food. I'm sad to report that my food was basically reheated leftovers. I heard the microwave door slamming and could tell my chicken was definitely reheated because it was dry, hard, and not warmed all the way through. The couscous itself was fresh but wasn't fluffy-- it had enough wetness to it that it just wasn't right. My wife got the pastilla, a new dish for her. It was probably the freshest-made item, but not her thing since it was basically ground chicken and parsley in a pastry dusted with cinnamon and almonds. The wife was our waitress and she was sweet. She spoke very little English, so her husband translated from the back of the restaurant. The husband running the restaurant was snapping green beans and dropped one, I watched as he picked it up off the floor and placed it into the bowl with the other beans. The issue for us is that he seemed to have very little care for his restaurant and his customers. In all, we would not return.

It was definitely not on the list for tourists as it was only half full when we got there, and everyone but us were local (speaking French). We had not planned or even thought of a Moroccan restaurant while in Vieux Quebec but (spoiler) we were very glad we did! We ordered the mixed sampler for appetizer, and a couscous royal and lamb and artichoke tagine. The appetizer was excellent! A mixture of clearly homemade items, all of which were delicious without exception! The lamb tagine was excellent, as was the couscous. Both were hearty plates infused with subtle spices leading to an excellent result. Better than most places I have eaten in Morocco. Like most Moroccan restaurants, alcohol is not served. However, customers are welcome to bring their own. As for the main courses, both were outstanding! If you like Moroccan food, or want to try something different and delicious, this place is for you!! Very reasonably priced, intimate interior atmosphere, and highly personal service by the wife of Redouan the owner/chef, Khadija. Highly recommended!! 5/5.
