I would 100% recommend this service to someone learning how to drive. When I had my first lesson I already pretty much knew how to drive, and thought I knew everything. However, Coach Reuben taught me a lot more that I didn't know, such as pulling over and parking and the proper way to reverse, and a different way to parallel park. Later, (today) I got the road test package with Coach Tony, and I was taken through the test route and retaught everything. I got an 88% on the test and passed. A bad First & Last. The instructor was late, rude, and had scammed my wife of an extra $50. My wife's Coach was Aretha. She was rude and unprofessional in her ethics. My wife had booked the appointment online and was charged $50 of the total $100. When the instructor arrived (15 mins late) her first sentences were "How are you going to pay? I only take cash." Since my wife only carries cards and no cash she had to go inside Walmart and withdraw $50. Luckily my wife is smart and thinks ahead and she withdrew $100. When my wife had given her the $50 she had stated that it's $100 for the lesson. Although we had already paid the previous $50 for the booking, Aretha had charged my wife an extra $50. Aretha had stated that the lessons range from $120 - $150. I had talked to the manager previously about getting lessons from them and all those previous times he had stated that $100 is per training session and each session is 2 hours long. Once I called him about the situation he had even told me that SHE (Aretha) shouldn't have done that because SHE (Aretha) already knew that my wife had paid the $50 booking fee. Luckily for us, the manager had refunded us the $50 that Aretha stole from my wife. My recommendation for this company, don't hire instructors that lie and steal from people. My recommendation for students or drivers that want to learn, don't go here. read more

I'm not your traditional driving student as I've had my license for more than 20 years (ugh that makes me feel old quantifying it like that LOL), but after a MS relapse paralyzed me for a year and rehabilitating to relearn other things I had previously taken for granted like walking, it seemed like the responsible thing to do make sure I was road-ready at the nod of a professional (who happened to have a second set of controls -- safety first!) before just hopping in a car. Coach is compassionate, an excellent conversationalist, and, as others have mentioned, super considerate. In addition to the driving experience, he has several helpful YouTube videos with tips on how to improve driving skills. He gave me the confidence I needed to get back out on the road, and invaluably, he gave me my independence back! Now I need to schedule again so I can work on parking ... but for now, at least I can safely get where I need to go, but may be limited to drive-throughs or places with empty lots. ;) Still TOTALLY worth it. I wanted to try Safe Driver because of the many good reviews, but like another reviewer, I had the worst experience. I also had Coach T, and even though I specifically stated the nerves and anxiety I had driving, she spent the entire 2 hours berating me, yelling at me, and criticizing me. I cannot learn this way. I needed a calm, positive atmosphere, and I unfortunately received the opposite from her. So much that I cried in the car, and now I'm completely discouraged about learning to drive. I hesitate to post negative reviews because I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this was the worst professionalism and worst experience of my life. read more

After an astonishing, 1.5 hour display of unprofessional behavior by a hostile woman who only identified herself as "Coach T". She started our lesson a half hour late (while continuing to charge for a full session) and proceeded to put on a clinic of unprofessional behavior, spending most of the session either yelling or on her phone, I found myself worse off than when I started. Don't waste your money. I ultimately took my business to Missouri Driving School (https://missouridrivingschool.com/) and the contrast between the two companies could not be more stark. I ultimately gained the confidence I needed from MDS, and was impressed by the professionalism and competence of my instructor, Kristen, a far cry from the, frankly, comically bad services I received from SaveDriver. I feel compelled to write a review for Mr. Williams. I quite enjoyed training with him. I found him friendly, considerate and professional. I was especially happy with two things - his training for various driving techniques and his test-ready instruction. He taught me fool-proof methods for switching lanes and turning left and right that immediately changed my turns and lane switching for the better. Also, he trains you perfectly for the test. We had already driven all the areas where the instructor was about to take me and we had gone over all the maneuvers they would want to do. Additionally, because of his experience, Mr. Williams uses the same language that the testing officer at the DMV uses. So, when you are taking the test, you truly feel like you have been there and done that and that there are no surprises. I passed the second time around, but I am confident that I would have passed the first time around, had it not been for the nasty rude blonde lady at the St. Charles DMV. Avoid her if you can!! Coach Williams has a very instructional methodology of teaching which I believe is the most crucial part of teaching. He develops those procedural rhythm and little tricks that really help you to catch up as a beginner. He is calm and friendly when I made mistakes yet always have some magic in his pocket to help me understand how to avoid those pitfalls. I've always had an extreme fear of driving, and so when I booked an appointment with Mrs. Williams in 2014, I learned a lot, but didn't have another lesson until today. I passed my test today. This is my second lesson with her, and even though I went driving for maybe 2 months since then, I still had no idea how to parallel park, where the controls were, or how to make proper turns and stops. I was pressed for time since I have a full time job starting next week, so I wanted just 1 lesson and then to get my drivers test during the end. So, in just that 1 hour of a lesson, I learned all of the things mentioned before, and passed me test with an 87!!!!!!! THIS WAS ONLY 2 LESSONS! I'm sure if I had a third lesson and more practice, I would've gotten a higher score. Definitely worth the money spent. My instructor was extremely professional but also very warm and encouraging, and I know with family it can feel like just the opposite. I'm SO EXCITED TO FINALLY START DRIVING! read more

I must say I am shocked by the positive reviews listed here. Only possible explanation could be that these customers weren't truly beginner drivers. In summary, I would not recommend this company for beginner drivers without behind-the-wheel experience. Positives: You get behind-the-wheel experience; they teach to the test and use the driving test routes to enhance familiarity and increase comfort. They also pick you up at your location which is very convenient especially if you don't own a car. Furthermore, they let you use their car for your driving test. Negatives: This company utterly lacks professionalism.Examples include cancelling and rescheduling at the last minute without regard for the client's schedule as well as lack of continuity as you are shuttled between two instructors who lack up-to-date knowledge of your progress. However, most concerning is the lack of professional behavior during the driving lessons. The male instructor would passively complain about your driving using non-constructive comments that are highly unhelpful to a learner (e.g statements like "you are difficult to teach" on a very first lesson or "you're a nervous driver") . The female instructor is much worse, she gets easily frustrated and resorts to yelling, screaming, blaming, and silent treatment- all traits that are detrimental to learning to drive. This experience isn't peculiar to me as evidenced by similar complaints below. In summary, both instructors (particularly the woman) lack basic teaching skills and etiquette and it's a wonder they chose this profession. If you are truly a beginning driver please avoid this company at all costs. read more

I came from India where I have very few months of driving experience. I registered for 3 classes (each class is 2hours in seat) on Oct 31st, Nov 1st amd Nov 2nd. Williams picked me from my home and went to Hazzlewood area (nearest dmv from my home) there I drove the car for 2hrs and he gave tips and instructions. On the second day, we went to Hazzlewood again and did parallel parking and standard driving instructions for first 1hour and later I gave driving exam with the same car. I did very well and passed the test on my second class. Literally I took only 3hrs of practice and gave exam on 4th hour (2nd class). He has instructor base voice so you feel like real examiner training you. And I got refund for the 3rd class (Nov3rd). William is truly professional and not want to waste your money. Like Dallas P, I was not the usual training student. I had my driver's license since 1995. But in 2013, somebody ran into the front door of my car while I was driving, and in 2016, somebody ran into the back of my mother's car while I was driving. My mother suggested that I take a defensive driving course if I want to continue driving. This January, I contacted SafeDriver Services. Mrs. Williams will yell and verbally berate you whenever you make a mistake. If you already have driving anxiety and self-confidence issues she will make you feel like an idiot. She makes you hate driving and want to quit. This is after 4 lessons with her telling me I'm going to fail. Either request a different instructor or take driving lessons somewhere else. read more

I am so glad I took their training. Even though I had been a licensed driver for over 30 years I hadn't driven in a few years. And, yes, I had bad driving habits that Coach T brought to my attention. End result, I passed my Driver Exam today after just a couple of training sessions. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing lessons/training. My daughter had about 40 hours of driving practice very spread out over the past two years. She took 3 lessions with Coach Williams and his wife and took her test on her fourth lesson and passed! Takes the stress off of the parent and student when he takes them to take the driving test. She is now a senior and was able to start driving to school daily for her senior year. My granddaughter would almost have panic attacks when driving with the adults in the family. After only two lessons with Coach T, my granddaughter had enough confidence to pass her road test and receive her driver's license. She said that Coach T was patient while in the car with her and explained things clearly as they went along. Coach T took a few minutes after each lesson to point out things that young driver's often do incorrectly when taking their tests. (Turned out, those are things I have been known to do. Good thing my granddaughter was learning from a pro!) Their rates were very reasonable.
