This has been my dentist for the last three or four years. I actually like the dentist quite a bit…read moreand referred my parents to him. But for what I need, I rarely see the dentist. Three stars for the hygienists, which keep changing. I get that my gal wanted to go half time or whatever, so she's out. But what happened to the one after her? I didn't like her anyways because she made my gums bleed all the time. It was as if she didn't have steady hands or she had careless hands or bad vision. She talked so much and didn't pay enough attention to my gums. So I remember asking to be scheduled with someone else other than her. I can't for the life of me remember that hygienist's name. Pretty sure I got someone new to me this past time because i got in on a cancellation. It wouldn't have happened that way except that the office did not respond to my call or voicemail or email. I finally found an old email with their online scheduling and tried to do it that way. That system sucks anyways because all it does is record your preference. It doesn't actually make an appointment. Eventually I got a call back and I was upset! I thought they had closed down because there is no reason to not return calls. I go twice a year and I have good insurance! They do x rays every year and have updated equipment. I like that they do an oral exam for cancer etc. they also evaluate your gums. Pretty thorough place, once you get in. Bonuses: it's completely solar powered, so they're doing their part for the world. Also, they have coffee and bottled water in the lobby. When they send you home, they give you a toothbrush, toothpaste and lip balm! The ladies there are very nice and the dentist is great, albeit talkative, but it's the hygienists that can make or break a place. Update- I've been going to this dentist for five years now. I have changed hygienists multiple times. But I most say, the dentist is so awesome. He gives his honest opinion about everything. He does not try to push you into procedures or Invisalign etc. One time I had a question and he wasn't totally sure. He promised to ask a colleague and get back to me. Sure enough, he got back to me by email. I appreciated his honesty and knowledge of his limits. He didn't hesitate to get a second opinion. That opinion was about the same as his in the end anyways. I always get a toothbrush and travel toothpaste on the way out. The also have lip balm that I keep in the car. They have improved their hours and added another dentist! They have also improved on getting back to me via email or phone when I leave messages. I have recommended my parents to his practice as well, and they are happy. Both have had procedures done and are satisfied.

I must admit that on my first visit I was a little apprehension after seeing how young the women of Dentists of Sanford were. After a year of constant care and getting to know them on a professional level, I discovered professionalism is an understatement. Thank you Dentists of Sanford, you have exceeded my expectation as a patient by going above and beyond and for this I'm grateful.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share our recent experience. My…read moredaughter and I both visited this dental office as new patients. We scheduled appointments expecting a routine cleaning and x-rays, which are typically covered by our dental insurance. However, what we got was something entirely different. While they did take x-rays, they did not perform the cleaning we were scheduled for. Instead, they conducted a "photo teeth" service--something we were not informed was not covered by insurance. We later learned this service, along with several others they recommended, resulted in an unexpected $3,200 bill--all out of pocket. What was most concerning was the way they made both of us feel about our oral health. Despite having regular dental care throughout our lives with no serious issues, we were each told we needed multiple specialty treatments to get our teeth and gums "healthy." It felt more like a high-pressure sales pitch than a genuine assessment of our dental health. Not only do we now have a significant bill, but neither of us even received the cleanings we originally came in for--those are now also out-of-pocket. I understand dental care can be costly and that some treatments may not be covered, but transparency and trust are essential. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling misled and taken advantage of.

Long wait. Had a 3pm appointment. Almost an hr has pasted and others after me have come and gone…read more Sure hope once they see me it was worth the wait. Kinda not a good way to start out with a new patient if you ask me... Update: Once we were seen by the Dr he was very nice and thorough in checking every thing. He made sure we had a good experience and answered any questions or concerns that we had. Will be returning soon for dental work and fell things will be much better this time around. Overall we are happy with our experience here. The facility is very nice, clean and convenient.

I am writing to express my bad experience from my recent visit back on 2-6-2026. I went for a…read moreroutine cleaning and had a number of issues that didnt even begin on my appointment day. A week before i was called to reschedule my appointment because they said they had a new system and had overbooked so they were moving people around. I had taken time for this appointment but honestly i SHOULD HAVE just canceled. They ended up leaving me on and said they would call someone else to see if they could move. On my appointment day i was waiting in the lobby for 40 minutes after i checked. The system had just changed, so i understand a small wait but to just sit there so long with no update is ridiculous. After asking the staff how much longer until i will be seen, the staff said it would be soon but they are running behind. I asked if i could just be refunded and cancel my appointment for the time-being, however the manager on duty said they could but it would take about 2-3 weeks until the refund would show because it is through another system. After i said yes i still want to cancel, she walked off and i guess she arranged for me to be seen right then as a staff member then promptly opened the door and called my name. There was no urgency to have me be seen until I wanted to cancel and be refunded. Once brought back, i was seen by the hygienist, Joe, who although friendly, he seemed to be very stressed out and in a rush. He almost forgot to floss my teeth until i reminded him. I felt like he really just rushed through and i didn't feel very taken care of. After i finished, i was given the wrong invoice for a different customer so i had to ask for the correct one. Once reviewing the invoice at home, i realized that what i was billed for was very over priced. I was charged D0431 adjunctive pre diagnostic test, oral cancer screening, something that was already done at my prior exam in august. I was also charged 4x for the D4921 gingival irrigation with a medicinal agent per quadrant. I was never told either of those things were OPTIONAL. I expect that as a provider, you should be transparent in what it is that you are doing and why. Why wasn't this explained to me when the treatment plan was presented? I called the office as soon as i got home to express my disappointment and ask for more information regarding my treatment plan and the front desk person who picked up said she doesn't know anything about treatment plans and that it is automated in their system. She said she couldn't explain it to me because she didn't know how it worked. She said she would try and see if someone was available to explain it to me but she just came back on the phone and proceeded to explain what she just told me she didn't understand . I told her it was deceptive and disingenuous to ask for payment on items i didn't know were optional and she said i already paid so why wasnt it brought up before, the dr recommended it so they added it on. The dr can recommend whatever they want but to not explicitly communicate something is optional is still deceptive.I don't really see the relevance of that question as i can still ask about service after they claimed to provide it. Considering the hygienist had to be reminded to floss me i don't even know that i received any "gingival agent" or oral cancer exam. Nothing was explained to me. I asked to speak with the manager but she was unavailable. The front desk took my number down and said i would receive a call back in a couple days. Apparently the manager did not care as i havent heard back from the clinic to date. I will never go back and will never recommend anyone to go there unless they want a subpar experience complete with poor management, poor scheduling, an untrained front office , stressed staff and a high bill.
