I really dislike this store. The other day I was in there and the checker was complaint about his job to the bagger. They do not believe 3 is a crowd. The ladies in the deli bakery section are always friendly and helpful. The some of the younger cashiers and baggers seem to spend their time talking to each other and ignoring the customers. read more

The customer service is AMAZING! Going to this store is luxurious. I come here with my baby and a woman WITHOUT FAIL walks me to my car and puts my groceries in my trunk while I put my baby in his car seat. And it's all initiated by her! I had to run in once to grab one thing while my baby and husband waited in the car; thanks to their employees I was in and out in 3 minutes. They make me feel like I'm the Queen of Los Banos. read more

The grocery is fine, quick to open a lane if its crowded. The bakery leaves alot to be desired. The girl was already trying to usher me to pay for the cake in advance(you dont have to) and she didnt even ask what I wanted the cake to say. Fortunately im not a moron so I caught her mistake.lol So I picked up the cake today and was very disappointed. I could have done a better job with betty crocker or duncan hines. Cost 36 bucks for a 5 dollar cake I couldve made. read more

There are some good things and some bad things here. The bad: soda prices here are outrageous. the express lane is never express. it is always slow, and there are always people putting more items than what is the limit. there is a girl who has twice taken my order at the deli, named Linzee (i think that is how its spelt). she is not friendly at all, and both time she seemed like it was a bother for her to get items for me. she rolled her eyes when i asked for two sandwiches, and told another worker "well, it looks like I wont be getting my drink afterall" (whatever that meant). She tried to memorize the order. did not write it down. after i got home and opened them up to eat, is when i realized the orders were wrong. the veggies I mean. my dad is allergic to tomato, and I stated no tomato. but it had it anyway..... the good: Lauren. She is a bagger there. she is the friendliest, sweetest girl Ive ever encountered. she remembers customers names, asks about how their family is, and is generally a very lovely girl all-around. read more

Plus: Staff- super super friendly and very helpful. They still bag your groceries. If you come from the Bay Area you know what I'm talking about. They also take it to your car (with a smile). Still using plastic though :-/ They have a varied selection of vegetarian and vegan products, they also have other hard to find products such as malanga lila, yautia and green plaintains. Aisles are clearly labeled. They sell Portuguese products, if you are ever looking for any of those. Cons: The prices are very high, compared to other places. I normally buy the portobello mushrooms 2 for $2.99 and here they are normally 2 for $4.99, that's almost double. Most of the time there is a person pan handling at the back door (outside). Apples are so expensive, it's ridiculous! The parking lot has a lot of craters. Someone should do something about those holes. Overall OK place to go to, I mean there aren't too many choices in town so, it's either that or Walmart, Target and Kmart that I know of. I differ from the person that said they have a poor cheese selection. Actually I thought they have a nice cheese selection. read more

I don't normally shop here, but their birthday cakes are pretty good. It's about $30.00 for a half sheet, so it's a little more expensive than Costco. If there was a local Costco, I would rather purchase my cakes from them, but until then...Savemart will do. read more

This is where I usually shop here in L.B. I find it to be better than the other smaller store's in town.I don't drink that much, but I like the large selection of beer's they have to offer- not just the usual bud, coor's, MGD, etc. Most of the checker's are friendly enough- minus 2 & I usually try to avoid there line. read more

Well when you have here or Food 4 less as your only 2 choices for a supermarket, at least be fair and say what they do good. Bakery good always a fan of the bread. Check the times it comes out fresh and you'll end up giving a half empty bag to the cashier to ring up. read more

I checked around the local bakeries for a cake for a baby shower I was hosting at my home. In this small town there aren't very many choices and the price for a custom cake (which I only wanted to round layer cakes) nothing too fancy! I shopped around and the prices were outrages for a small cake (190-280) I only needed to feed about 20 people so off to Save Mart I went. I was greeted by a very nice woman I showed her the picture and she helped me find a decal that went with the theme. and I even sent the woman who was going to do the cake a picture of the cake. Very simple white with purple hearts on the cake. I didn't go pick up the cake and the people at the bakery should be glad! What I received was a lopsided cake with what appeared to be globs of might have been a 2 year olds attempt to make hearts all over the cake! the lines were crooked! I was so embarrassed to show the mother to be this cake! I felt horrible! I will say the cake itself tasted awesome! after I scraped off the gobs of buttercream and horrible decorating! I should have taken a picture and went down to the store or took the cake back! But I had to feed the guests and before I could take a picture my husband threw out the rest he knew I was upset. I def will NEVER go back and order a cake there nor will I recommend anyone to go and get a cake on special order from that place! read more

I have been to this store for my groceries. Since the store has moved im not very happy. It doesnt feel like a decent grocery store. Its very scattered and unorganized. All the,produce seems ro be rotting. I wanted to purchase salad and all the premade salads were already brown in the bags. I feel like theu took everything from the other store and just moved it across the street to get rid of it before bringing in new items. I spend a good chunk of my hard earned cash here but im afraid im going to have to be going back home over the hill for my groceries. Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon. read more

Great store but it has its fails. First, the bagging team at the front-end is laughable because I take 5 bags for packing but they always try to use one, maybe two bags. The Bakery dept. is just pathetic...I ordered a full sheet cake and it was lop-sided and the filling was leaking out of one end. No more cakes from Save Mart! I will say that the veteran employees continue to do an outstanding job, kudos! read more

This review is for the bakery only. I work for Verizon in town and we held a customer appreciation day. We ordered a full sheet cake from Save Mart with specific decoration in our company colors, red and black. We asked the cake to have the Verizon logo and say "Customer Appreciation Day." When we received the cake, it was done in pink and black, with no Verizon logo, and it said "Customer Atteciation Day." ATTECIATION?! That's not even a word! When we called to complain and see about a refund, we were told that Sandy needed to talk to Valerie and Valerie would get back to us on Monday (this was Saturday.) Valerie never called and when we called to follow up, we were told that Valerie had gone on vacation. I was speaking with Sandy again, and she asked why my manager hadn't called himself. I told her that he has a lot on his plate and asked me to follow up. Sandy then said to me, "Well maybe Jose [my manager] doesn't want to deal with it, just like Valerie doesn't want to deal with it." Are you kidding me?! Have these people even heard of customer service?! I have never been spoken to so rudely in regards to a mistake they made! After all the drama, we come to find out that we can only receive an $8 refund on a $55 cake because it would be considered a refund on the decorations only. So we as a company got to face the embarrassment of an ugly and misspelled cake at our event, while Save Mart Bakery gets to pay us back only $8 and wash their hands of their mistake. I nor any of my coworkers will order a custom cake from Save Mart again and I will be filing a complaint against Sandy and Valerie. read more

I think the SaveMart in Los Banos is a great store. For those complaining about the employee's talking to one another..that's one of the things that I like. Everyone is friendly and its almost like a "family" atmosphere. I shop often and although I doubt no one knows my name most everyone recognizes me and takes the time to say hello. The Deli/Bakery people are awesome, very friendly and even when busy take the time with each customer. Never in my 43 years of living in San Jose did I ever receive the kind of service and hometown atmosphere that I find at our local SaveMart. And every employee that passes you is sure to ask if you "are finding everything you need". Produce employees are wonderful with helping out as are the butchers. Clerks "almost" insist on helping you out to your car and converse with you while doing so. My only negative is I think it is crazy when a place of business makes an employee wear a bandaid on a face piercing...looks stupid...NO I don't have piercings but I am not offended by them either. read more

I have been here many times as I am new to this area. The customer service is as bad as Ive seen in a grocery store. The lines are long and no one calls for additional help. The help they have are busy talking with other employees. If you have a problem the checker can not resolve they dont even bother asking for management help. Which I never have seen in the front end in the 20 or so times I have been in the store. Their lucky they have very limited competition in los banos, or they would be hurting. read more

Always find what I want. Only store around that I can find Core water!!! The bakery is fantastic and continually bakes sour dough bread.....yum!! Checkers are phenomenal and try their best to know my name....especially Tammi!!!! Love this market. read more
