We called Kathy for green propane tanks due to them being sold out everywhere. She answers the phone and says "There about 5 something I'll go look" then hangs up the phone. We call back assuming it was a accident the phone continues to ring for about 3 minutes straight, by that time we've already arrived to SaveMart. We ask the speak to the manager there the First Lady we spoke to constantly implies Kathy is the manager which she is not. The actual manager then comes and helps us who is Ricardo, with no problems we were in and out with his help. read more

I've been coming to this store for a few years now, I have to admit I was hesitant to come back after I encountered poor costumer service at the front registers BUT when I came in to order a cake for a birthday party I had to make it my go to for cakes! The ladies taking the order really pay attention to get exactly what I want very detailed and I have always gotten what I imagined in my head! Thank you bakers!! The bakery ladies are really friendly and HELPFUL one of them went as far as letting me know there was a coupon in their app for my item with added points! (update) Four stars for management Fernando is a very patient and understanding Leader. He is easy to talk to and has a way about him that let's you know he cares about his customers and how they feel... Great guy and he has some leads backing him up... The employees are great with the exception. Dave is a nice guy but gets picked on regularly. After seeing this a few times I gotta say Margaret is mean to this guy snarls behind his back and talks to him like carp in front of everyone. The brunette courtesy clerk always complains and gossips in the lanes about customers. The guy in front of me spoke to me you could tell he was uncomfortable in social situations after he payed and left the clerk says he was trying to talk me and make a joke he was creepy... Staff is really nice but for the past several months I've bought several food and drink items that were expired anywhere from that day to an entire month ago. Just bought chalada mix that was expired august 12ish and its sep 7 today! Restocking team really needs to be checking the dates on food this is ridiculous and unsafe as well as against health code!! read more

Gross ! I don't know what is going on with their meat. We bought bone in pork chops that had sell by dates of 8/11 & 8/15. Opened them up today to cook for dinner and they smelled HORRIBLE. Too much trouble to lug the stink meats back for a refund. I'll definitely stop buying my meat here. read more

This is the closest supermarket for me to come buy fruits, but anything that is advertised as a sale like meats or seafood will be limited or gone by the time you come by then your obligated to purchase other items. When I get the circular for Savemart now I pretty much toss it out or don't even look at it. My best bet for items on sale will be Safeway or Ralleys. Hopefully Sprouts will open soon at least Sprouts will offer rain checks. read more

Why would I support a business when customer service isn't number 1 priority? When your paying a checker 20$+ to just stand there and ring up customers wouldn't you want to help everybody instead of picking and choosing which ones you help based on the items they have in there cart? Seems strange to me that you'd rather have 5 people in one line and nobody in the next because they have over a certain amount of items just poor work ethic. Now I understand the item limit when it comes to the store being busy but this was not the case just comes down to pure laziness and poor management I definitely will be shopping elsewhere from now on until they can straight up on how things are ran because their priorities on customer service is last. Save mart is overly priced when it comes to grocery shopping. You really have to check there weekly circular to see what is on sale. More than likely Safeway and Luckys will have the same items on sale. Only because SaveMart is the only grocery store that is in my radius, I use it like it is a corner store. I don't grocery shop there. I have a policy when I go there to help me not to overspend. Don't get a basket and if you can't carry it in your hands you don't need it. The main thing that is the best about my local Savemart is the bakery. The bakers can make some Delisious cakes. They are highly addictive, no matter what you get, if it looks good to you it will be good. They take last minute orders, so that is a plus. Being the only savemart in Lathrop is got to be the best. I shop hear all the time. it's your one stop shopping you have a pharmacy as well. The produce section is huge a long with the seafood section. The people their are super friendly so that's a plus. So yup if you are in Lathrop and need grocery go hear. Other than that you do have choices safeway I believe that's either in Tracy or stockton. read more

Clean store and great variety of stuff except for the Pharmacy. The cashiers and baggers have very different personalities. I've only been coming here for 3 months and I already have my favorite and my least favorite cashiers and baggers. One of the baggers put my spinach at the bottom of the bag full of canned sauce. They have a good selection of items in stock but I took a star away because I stood in line for nearly 15 minutes because the three people ahead of me were adding on last minute items and the cashier was just as slow to process them. They need self checkout counters to speed things up! read more

Wow another large store, this seems to be a trend in the Central Valley! Very nice assortment of vegetables, dairy, meat, frozen, and dry goods to shop from. Staff is very friendly, and helpful, but non-existent on the store floor, just at check-out. read more

Around the area of Manteca this is my favorite Savemart to visit yet. It's huge great deals and they even have a pharmacy. I was able to find items that other save Mart's were out of such as flowers on a special occasion. read more

I rarely do this but I gotta talk about this girl who works here by the name of MADINA ! She is the most sweetest, smartest, and helpful person I ever met!!!!! I don't live around here and I'm new from Colorado but I work next door and I was just trying something new and I ask people around but didn't get a good answer. Till I met madina, she was so helpful by getting to know me first and best thing she listens my whole story of things in looking for and she waited till I'm done then she was ready to show me what to get and it was that easy. A lot of people just give you the answer quick and didn't care if the answer is wrong but she took her patients and I am so hopeful and i walked out with all the ingredients I need to cook back home. One of the cleanest Save Mart's I've ever been to I tell ya. All the employees are very friendly and everything is so fresh. As for me, I love coming here for the Redbox. On top of that, it's convenient for me to do some quick grocery shopping since I live a couple of minutes away. read more

I live very close to this store but shop elsewhere unless I am desperate. My biggest issue is the employees. They are forever chatting with one another over the customer's head. They are only chatty and nice to customers they appear to know outside of work or whom share personal stories with them. No sense of professionalism and there are always long lines with slow cashiers. I'd rather spend more and go elsewhere so that I don't leave in a bad mood. I also do online ordering with home delivery through Safeway to avoid these issues altogether. read more

Like many of the previous reviews, this store is clean with friendly employees. HOWEVER, their prices suck. Everything is Wayyyyy over priced. I can go to winco and buy $60 of groceries that'll feed my family for about a week. Save mart on the other hand, i'd spend more that $100 for the same amount of products. you have to be one of those extreme couponers to actually save some cash going to this store. read more

I have never been a fan of Save Mart but I absolutely love the one in Lathrop, CA. My favorite person is definitely Juan in the meat department. He is so helpful, friendly, and absolutely nice. The staff is usually very friendly. I just moved form the bay area and discovered that Save Mart is the closest thing to Safeway. Save Mart is close to me and very convenient. I think this is a good grocery store. Its very clean, the people are super friendly and I think the produce section is really the highlight of this store other than the superior customer service. Savemart is extremly clean, and well laid out. Thier seafood section is very good for being out in the central valley. Prices? I dont think they are that over priced. There are more expensive grocery stores out there. They have a really big medicne section too. I would definately reccomend Savemart. The Bakery/Deli and all the other departments are great. I believe the employees are what sets this place aside from other grocery stores, they will go the extra mile. It has a hometown feel inside also, they have pictures of Lathrop back in the day, which I think is cool. They also have a DVD rental vending machine called RedBox, very cool.
