Three and one-half stars. I had been going to this office since 2013 when the powers that be…read morechanged their tune about primary care doctors prescribing opiods. I saw both doctor, Dr. Karamian and Dr. Ilbeigi. I did not care fot Karamian as her injections caused me pain and I also found her to be too clinical. And a bit rude. I loved Ilbeigi as he was kind, did pretty painless injections and fixed a problem that the staff messed up. once I told him That they inadvertently changed the dosage of my meds. Sadly Dr. Ilbeigi retired abruptly giving us all 2 weeks notice. Needless to say this was a problem. My body decided to have a sciatica flare up during this transition that hit the 10 level for a couple of weeks. I managed to use a muscle relaxer to help with the pain and allow me to sleep a few hours Intermittently throughout the day. Pain meds do very little for nerve pain. Finding a new pain management Dr that will give me the medication I was taking so far has been difficult . I had to wait a month before I could even make it to lay in the back seat of my girlfriend's car to get to these appointments. I thought I was okay with the first doctor but they shorted my prescription and never bothered to explain why nor how to go off these meds. when I called they told me to wait the month to speak to someone. I tried their main office as this clinic has various offices throughout Southern California, guess it's a money maker, however I got nowhere with her either. The next Dr berated Dr Ilbeigi and myself for even being on these meds. He was rude condescending and kept me waiting for 2 hours prior to seeing me. When I returned to Dr number one who is not a Dr but a rotating staff of nurse practitioners that one sees monthly she was under the assumption that I was told about the decrease. I wasn't. I was told she would keep my meds as is but that my next appointment the doctor might change them. No one mentioned nurse practitioners. Their main concern and to be honest both drs concern was following the regulations and abiding by the criteria set by the FDA or the powers that be with little concern for the patient. They wanted to cover their ass more than aid the pain patient. It has become pretty much a one size fits all. Since I had been in pain for years I tried various treatment. The one that changed my life, the pain meds. I went from being home bound to getting certified to teach water fitness which I did for 12 years until my next decline and sadly had to qui Teaching and working out. At that time I went all out trying injections, acupuncture, chiropractic (legs went numb) nerve blocks, mindful meditation, yoga and Pilates. The final thing that ultimately worked was massage which I paid out of pocket for over a year until my masseuse moved away. So if you want try Karamian go for it. Oh, she would not see anyone of us who had been a prior patient which I believe demonstrates her attitude and "first do no harm" way of practicing Medicine. I had hoped to find a group of prior patient so we could exchange notes on who best to see. I'm going to be 80 in April and I have been in pain since 1987 going on pain meds in 2003 when the policy was, "there is no cap on how much you can take of these drugs to this". I simply don't have the energy I had 13 years ago when I had to quit teaching and was in such good shape to Dr shop. Pain erodes your body and more so your spirit. Being told to detox myself without guidance is malpractice in my books but I know it's common practice in theirs. I have always been very careful with how I take these meds. After all they changed my life. I respected them unlike many of the providers who prescribe them. Good luck to those of you looking for pain management. I hope you find one you like

Since day one I have noticed this and not just for me, because I have seen and heard how she interacts with other patients when I have been in the office. She is very consistent with everyone because its just who she is as a human being. I wanted to take time to share. There was also one day when after my appointment I need to add coolant to my car. I went limping back into the office on my cane with my antifreeze bottle and was having a tough time. Paula noticed me and came out from her reception desk area out to the lobby and said I can fill that up for you if you would like. Wow, I could have cried, what a life saver she was. And not just that day, but anytime I have needed guidance or help with paper work, scheduling or just anything she was there. If I call on the phone and happen get her, I feel like I am the only patient they have. The world needs more people who have this natural, unforced disposition of real humanity, who simply care because they ACTUALLY CARE. And in the are of healthcare, kind spirits can heal the body and soothe the pain, both mental and physical. It really does matter. I don't know if Paula will see this, but I want to say thank you Paula for the kindness you have shown me, and for just being you. You are a rare and refreshing spirit. kindness and understanding go such a long long way. It is a pleasure to know you. What comes from the heart, reaches the heart, and it is my prayer that if you should see this, you will feel it in your heart. Thank you again for your humanity, and being the human being that you are. Abdullah Talib (Patient )

Total 5 stars for this doctor and his amazing, professional staff…read more After a horrific experience with another local pain management, I found Dr. Nassiri. I was having excruciating back pain (while sitting, an 8/10 pain) and every pain killer prescribed to me to date was doing nothing to help. 1. His office is clean and easily accessible. At this point, I was in a wheelchair. The other pain management dr I was seeing was barely accessible. 2. Dr. Nassiri is very friendly and knowledgeable. He has a medical scribe document conversations to ensure accuracy. He reviewed my MRI and his assessment was exactly what I had heard from other doctors and he spent a lot of time answering all questions I had. 3. I was very unhappy with the orthopedic doctor I was seeing. He recommended a world class orthopedic surgeon, who I went to and had perform my surgery (L4/L5 microdiscectomy). 4. He and his team answer emails quickly! No need to call in. 5. While he was talking about this great doctor, his front desk person overhead this portion and when I walkld out the door, she had a document printed with contact details and other info I needed. 6. He put me on a specific regiment that WORKED (with gapapentin). Within 2 weeks, I could walk and the pain got down to levels where I could sleep. I then foolishly tried to reduce them and a lot of pain came back. That was my bad. Listen to him and follow the regiment. I had surgery in August 2023 (Thank you, Dr. Sodha!!) and am PAIN FREE (maybe a 1/10 at my worst). I really credit Dr. Nassiri and his fantastic staff with getting the best medical care available.

Do no harm.. and in this professionals opinion, post Registered Nurse, im impressed…read more Dr Tong, and the nurse practitioner Sarah both , LISTEN. I've not a bad word to say about this office , run by a knowledgeable Doctor. I've known a lot of doctors.. first with my previous profession as "the patients advocate" , then an entire wing of , just get rid of her.. huh ?!! . People that all deserve a life , a better one, if applicable .. the end ., ;) ~ the reviews I've read of other "pain relief doctors " seem to only add to the unsatisfactory quality of any life received by people. I had depression due directly to pain not being managed. - .. I welcome such businesses ,or CARE, into our community.. What You'll experience , in my opinion.., is expert care. an ethical , moral approach. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to listen happens here. ~~ Pain , is the fifth vital sign .. it's extremely important for diagnoses' and the following treatment~ it's been a journey of bad for this patient. Or rather non patient . ... . I was left feeling embarrassed , completely exhausted, and alone.. and in pain.. To all professionals reading this.. one day you may need to find help.. and it's no where to be found. Make an appointment. You can't just STOP pain management. It's inhumane. ., kindness and nonjudgmental treatment should be the goal...) Integrity .. it's in rare form lately . .. , Dr tong was so attentive, I cried. Right there , I've watched my own care , deteriorate. I've cried many sleepless nights due to pain. I am no longer bedridden with pain, nor have the accompanying depression.. . .. Going to this doctor, if you are lucky enough to end up here, I felt such relief regarding simple human interaction. I was not ignored or called a liar.. So, look no further for compassion, decency but last, definitely not least, Integrity to the profession of medicine .. Dr Tong saved my life.. I cannot tell you how bad it is for some of us.. ~ the treatment, the inhumane comments, that embarrass /ignore/or lie to you as your doctor is the definition of anathema to their trade These people really care.. Everyone there is truly a joy to see.. If only all doctors . With, yes power, present as such humble practitioners, we'd not be writing reviews on yelp. Ha. .. ~ I hope I have given you all some sound advice in where to go for help.. . We have one life. Wondering if the rest of the Doctots know the harm they cause.. how could they not? I refuse to blame, quality of my life , returned. The pain in my back led me here .. and of course , I stayed ~ (old or new.. degeneration is Lifelong .. hence the name.) I can't tell you how amazing it felt , to be heard ... I've been with him awhile and not one complaint ! Only positive visits. With respect. He's a real doctor , I mean, he actually has a bedside manner that is Good. . ~.. I did not want to live , in the pain I was in. No matter what. Dr tong saved my existence.~ Now, the pictures? spinal injuries .. aren't as fun to post! Just an example of how my ability to to anything .. was interrupted by pain. .. , I love love love both physicians. Wishing You all a pleasant evening.
