Have you ever been to a beauty spa where you cant stop from admiring the interiors? Where each room you are taken to is just breathtaking? Where beauty, elegance meets heaven?
Savant is one of those places I have recently visited in 2 ocassions. And each time I was mesmerized by the place.
On my first visit I went for a manicure.
For my second visit I have decided to experience the carbon laser treatment, popularly known as the Hollywood peel, during my lunch break.
After couple of minutes, my therapist took me to the treatment room. Worth mentioning that it looked amazing and the smell of aromas maked you relax instantly.
I was asked to fill in a quick questionnaire and was asked if I have any allergies or done the treatment before. I said no. Was excited to have i done now.
Before we get started with the carbon peel, its time to cleanse my face. I happily lie down on the treatment table and they tuck me in and I feel I can just fall asleep. :) Lying in bed you cant miss the amazing ceiling.
The deep cleansing, which gets rid of any makeup, oils, debris, and sweat, it feels relaxing and takes about 5 minutes. This is followed by the toning (to open up pores etc.). Now I am ready for my carbon peel.
First up is the application of the medical carbon cream, which, by the way, is quite black. After the eye-shields are in place (to protect your eyes from the laser), and waiting for couple of minutes, the peel is dry so its time for the fireworks.
The carbon laser itself is not painful, but the sound produced when the laser comes in contact with the liquid carbon sounds like a louder version of popping candy. The micro-explosions combined with the burning smell of the carbon and warmth on the face, made me relax even more and ready to drift off.
After couple of minutes the laser stops and its time to clean my face. My therapist puts on a cool calming mask which makes my skin feel refreshed and all new.
The downtime is quite minimal after the procedure. The next day my skin was visibly brighter and smoother than before. So, yes, I would recommend the Hollywood peel for anybody who needs a quick skin-pick-me-up. read more
