It reminded me of my own house, with objet d'art, quirky shelves and odd bits. Rochelle was my hairdresser and did exactly as I hoped. She listened, and guided and chatted but also concentrated when she needed to. I am extremely happy with the results. A bit different and edgy for me, but that's what I needed. Not only does he always take the time to listen to what I want and leave me with a fantastic colour and cut but he is also genuine and honest. The customer service is second to none! Jesko is happy to offer advice on products but doesn't try and push you to buy them like some salons do! He always does his best to squeeze an appointment in last minute...if like me you suddenly wake up and are aghast by the sudden sprouting of grey hair! Now I'm never going back to a boring hairdressing with a normal stand thingy. Walking into the Arch, it's like a boudoir. All decadently decorated, you're seated at a piano, or a large dressing table with fancy mirrors, candlesticks and velvet things. It looks so stylish, it instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. As for the hair. I had my hair done by a cracking young stylist whose name I forgot to take, but I'd definitely recommend her. I had a Groupon voucher, which was taken with zero-fuss. It's one of those cases where it'll work out for the company, as I've now found my new hairdresser and will be coming back paying full whack next time.

I said that I am okay with also a light brown tone as long as it is not warm toned. They said that they can do that. A week before the appointment I had a consultation where they cut off a piece of my hair to test how well it will pick up the bleach. On the appointment day they said that the hair picked up the colour fine and we can proceed. They applied the bleach and waited. After a while they said that it won't be as light as expected. I said that's okay as long as my hair won't turn yellow. At that point I started to wonder what was the point of cutting a piece of my hair off in advance? Wouldn't they have tested how well it takes on the bleach? After 2h 40min of colouring my hair the result was shocking. It has a horrible brass under tone and is patchy. I can't believe I spent £203 for a brassy tone. Also the gradient is so subtle. I thought that going to a well known salon will give me a nice result. I didn't expect for the result to look like a flashback when I was 15 and bleached my own hair at home for the first time.

She handed me over to Nick to fix it, saying "I have another client" (I had been exactly on time; she kept me waiting at several points so why this was my problem I'm not sure). Nick kind of fixed it and was nice about it, but it's still a total disappointment and I was made to feel like Katie's incompetence was my fault. Not at all worth the £50 I paid - I used to pay £45 in central London where I was treated like a human being and always walked out feeling fantastic. This time I walked out wanting to put on a hat and disappear. Go somewhere else instead of this place, where you'll be made to feel like an inconvenience and pay handsomely for a crappy cut you could have gotten anywhere for a fiver.
