A link to the photos of the many discrepancies can be found here:…read morehttps://photos.app.goo.gl/eTf9yoUjyqcSV5hs5 We regret that our experience with *Quality Deck Builders* did not align with the company's name or reputation. After several attempts to address our concerns directly with the owners, Chris and Christy Hester, went unanswered, we felt compelled to share our feedback. Despite leaving multiple phone messages, two voicemails, and a detailed text outlining the issues we encountered, we received no response. From the very beginning, we made it clear that the primary purpose of the fence was to contain our dogs. Unfortunately, the installation fell short in multiple areas, and several issues with the quality of the work need to be addressed. ### **Chain Link Section:** The chain link fence, which was supposed to secure our property, has several problematic areas. There are sections where the fence is up to 3 inches off the ground, which undermines its ability to contain our pets. Furthermore, the tension cable was initially missing, allowing our dogs easy access to escape. Although the tension cable was eventually installed after we raised the issue, we were informed this was not considered standard practice unless specifically requested due to the additional cost. However, our signed contract clearly depicted the inclusion of the tension cable, which is a minor but significant detail, priced at just $33 for 170 linear feet. Additionally, the proximity of the chain link gate to the post makes it difficult to close properly, which further compromises the fence's functionality. ### **Picket Fence:** While the picket section was somewhat satisfactory, it did not meet the agreed-upon standards. Chris had assured us that the fence would be installed 1-2 inches above the ground, yet we found areas where the gap was as much as 4 inches--much higher than promised. To add to the frustration, many stickers were left stuck to the bottoms of the pickets, giving the fence an unfinished appearance. ### **Gates:** The gates were the most disappointing aspect of the project. Oversized brackets were awkwardly hammered onto the corners rather than using properly sized fittings, which resulted in structural flaws. Bolts are missing due to the brackets being too long, and the four gate frames were not consistently sized. Additionally, the latches were installed in different orientations, and one gate cannot fully open, which is another significant inconvenience. One of the 4x4 posts was poorly angled, creating a one-inch gap between the post and the fence, while another gate was positioned several inches higher than the adjacent fence. As if these issues weren't enough, we also discovered misfired nails throughout the fence, leftover chain link debris scattered across our property, and the nails in the pickets were carelessly zigzagged. While the project was completed on time and at a reasonable price, the overall quality of the work was far from satisfactory. It's disheartening because *Quality Deck Builders* clearly has the potential to produce better results, but unfortunately, they took shortcuts on our project. As a result, we now find ourselves needing to make additional adjustments to ensure the security of our dogs.

The Guaranteed Fence team was timely and worked through some rainy weather to take down and install…read moreour fence. They did a great job installing and customizing a very large gate so that we could pull in our motor home to the back yard. When asked via email if there would be a need to place wheels at the bottom of the gates for support, the email was replied with no, we use a steel post and steel frame to stop sagging and twisting over time. This is where the problem lies. In July of 2015 there was some bad weather and the gate had swung open and twisted the frame pulling the hinges out of the post. My wife called and the phone was actually answered by Gary and she asked if there was a warranty on the gate since the gate pulled the hinges from the post. The answer was no, which was fine as we would pay the repair cost. She then asked if they could take a look at it to repair. They said they would take a look. We never heard back from them. She called them 6 times and I called them 4 times as well as sent emails to them over the course of 3 weeks. I would at least think this company could've replied they were too busy or at least responded in some manner of communication. I would never use this company again as their customer satisfaction is certainly not GUARANTEED and neither is their product. They probably should think about changing the name of their company. Their 'counter review' on Angies list stated that the gate was left open and the wind caught it. The gate was not left open, 90% of the time it had a padlock on it; I repeat, the gate was closed and locked with a padlock at the time. The gate was 2 months old. For anyone reading this review, the truth is, we called them to come and look at the gate that had twisted off the hinges. They told us it was not a warranty issue. I was frustrated because the gate was only 2 months old and asked why it had fallen off the hinges when it was that new, especially since I asked about extra support (wheels and a drop rod on both gates) when working with them in the first place, but was told it was 'steel welded and would hold up just fine'. They said they'd come and look at it and then we were hoping we could negotiate the repair costs - frankly even being upset at the quality of the work, I would have paid 100% of the cost to have the gate fixed correctly. It was a safety hazard, unsightly and I paid for a gate on my property so I wanted a working gate, even if it meant that I needed to pay for it myself. A discount for the repair work would have satisfied me. I don't know if they ever came out, but from that point forward I did not ever hear from them again. Seriously, if they had called me back and attempted to work with me on the price of the repairs or at the very least - actually responded, I would not have left such a bad review. When questioned on the work they completed, we received no response at all. And they wonder why a customer is upset? Fortunately I did find another company who came out and replaced the TWO normal duty hinges with THREE HEAVY WEIGHT hinges on each gate, and installed another drop rod for the gate that did not have one. If both gates had a drop rod in the first place, I doubt if we'd have encountered an issue. I asked about support on the gates from the start. ** Update: less than 2 years later, the gate sagged so bad that it had to be picked up to be opened. I do not blame the second company for this, as they at least installed heavy weight hinges, however the weight of the gate made the posts start bowing. I asked for support wheels in the first place and had those been installed, the gate would be operational today
