My friend made an appt at 3:30pm 11/27 with Joey to get our piercing done , we came in and was greeted by the receptionist; she was nice and asked for the usual ID and sign some consent form. . I initially wanted the snake eyes piercing at the tip of my tongue, but Joey straight up told me that he doesn't do that here, due to lots of complications in the future with peoples teeth, gums etc. He also said even though there were customers that had told him to just pierce it because it's what THEY want; it doesn't make him feel good knowing What can/May happen... which I totally respect. I came in there not wanting to know the downside of getting that piercing but Joey had told me all that I needed to know, and the last thing I want down the line as I age is getting a chip tooth while talking or whatever (my worse nitemare!). Anyways, I ended up getting my tongue re-open/pierced since it had been closed for 5+ years , a change in my tragus earring which was super long; and my cartilage earring change . He was able to make the earrings fit PERFECTLY so it's not poking/sticking out . I love the fact that he can customized the piercing (earrings) to your liking, and will also give opinion. You can tell that he truly cares for his customer and just the way his personality is is just awesome ! All the instruments are sterilize and the room was super clean ! She told me that she heard good things about Sacred Addition. I gave them a call to see if they would even be able to do it this week. I spoke to Anthony and he asked me to email him a picture of what I wanted. We stopped by later that day to speak with him. He said he would come in Friday (his day off) to do it before I went back home. I came in Friday for my appointment. We got started on the tattoo and it was immediately way too painful for me. 15 minutes in, I told him I probably would only be able to do the outline. He wasn't pissed (like I would expect someone to be if they came in on their day off to do a tattoo) and told me he was almost done with the outline then we could take a break and then start the shading, which was much easier that the outline. I said okay. He was right. The shading was much easier than the outline. There were a few other points during the 2.5 hours that I was ready to give up. Anthony was like a motivational speaker. He encouraged me to finish it, but in a nice way. The owner (didnt catch his name) was drawing something near where I was getting tattooed and also encouraged me to finish it before I went back to California the next day. He said, "you don't want to be walking down Venice Beach with an unfinished tattoo." I told him I live in San Francisco and likely wouldn't be at Venice Beach anytime soon. From what I gather, they all attend various trainings throughout the year to deepen their skill set. I am a bit of a jewelry snob, so I sincerely appreciate that the staff knows the exact composition of all jewelry they sell. The last thing I would want is for the same person who messed up my skin so badly to have another chance to make it even worse! After seeing several other reviews about horrible tattoo work done at Cobra Customs by Matt, and how Cobra Customs has given each of these other customers the run around about making it right, ultimately doing absolutely nothing about it and leaving each of us with awful tattoos that are nothing like we asked for, it's clear that Cobra Customs does not stand behind the work of the artists they hire or the work that is done on their premises. If you choose Cobra Customs, vet your individual artist thoroughly before starting. It should have been my first red flag that when I went in for a consultation I was given no option of which artist to work with, was simply told Matt would be the one who would do the work. Based on previous work I had done there in the early 2000's by great artists, I wrongly assumed all artists at Cobra would do quality work.
