The chopper /custom motorcycle industry is in a slump and I know several people who worked for them who have been laid off lately. On October 8, 2024, I brought my UForce 1000cc to Biker's Edge in Wichita, Kansas, for dash repairs…read morethat I was explicitly told would be covered under warranty (by Logan). But instead of doing the right thing and waiting for authorization from the warranty department, they jumped ahead and did the work without approval from them or myself. Now, I'm stuck with a $260 bill because the warranty department refused to cover it. Why? Because there was only a loose nut behind the dash, and no parts were broken. So now I'm out $260 for a loose nut. This entire situation is beyond frustrating. I made it crystal clear that this needed to be covered under warranty or call me to get my approval after they had a cost for me, but they chose to do the work anyway, without confirmation--and then expected me to pay for it. And as if that wasn't enough, it took them two days to even find my warranty in the first place. This is an absolutely ridiculous way to run a business. When you take a vehicle to a dealership, they at least have the decency to check out the problem, call the warranty department, and let you know what's covered before they touch anything. But not Biker's Edge. They just do the work and stick you with the bill no matter what. It's a joke. Customers should be able to trust that warranty repairs will be handled properly, but after this, I've lost all faith in their service department. And here's the kicker--when I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me the warranty claim was denied because the warranty department wouldn't cover it. I called the warranty department myself and found out the real reason: Biker's Edge labeled the issue as an "adjustment." If they had simply told the truth--that the gear shifter was getting stuck in the steering wheel--they would have covered it as a safety issue, no problem. That was the warranty department's exact words. This isn't even about the $260 anymore. It's about the dishonest and shady business practices at Biker's Edge. From what I was told by the warranty department, they make more money when they bill the customer instead of going through the warranty process. I will never set foot in this place again. I'll happily drive an hour to another service department that actually values their customers and doesn't screw them over. Avoid Biker's Edge at all costs unless you want to get burned like I did.
