We came mid week before the busy season so the room prices were probably lower than normal. We got…read morea jacuzzi room and it came with what they said was a queen sized bed but it was more like a full sized bed. The bed was incredibly hard and we had to ask for extra pillows. The jacuzzi in the room was actually very nice and was separate from the bathtub in the bathroom. The jets were a bit loud When we checked in, we were told the Coffee was 24 hours a day but on Friday morning it wasn't and my friend had to wait an hour and a half for hot coffee. They also offer what they call a continental breakfast on weekdays, which was bagels, waffles you pop in the toaster, oranges, yogurt, bags of instant oatmeal and juice. I guess it's better than nothing, but we decided to get breakfast elsewhere. The cost to rent a golf cart was quite expensive (maybe it's that way on the whole island). $79 for a full day and $97 for overnight. If this was the only option I might come here again. Otherwise, nah!!

This place was decent. The room was clean. The sheets not so much, there seemed to be coffee stains…read moreon our bedding. The jacuzzi was clean. The room served its purpose. I would stay here again. The people at the desk were really nice. We even got to check in really early around 1pm. Although we isn't swim the pool looks nice and the bar and grill seemed pretty cool. As far as privacy the walls are pretty thin and people are coming ans going all the time. I would stay here again. It is in a great location close to everything on the island.

Edgewater Hotel & Suites - Tons of brown smears on the ceiling. It was disgusting.

I have been to Put in Bay several times and really like the island. It has a ton to offer…read more Now, If it were possible to give a one star review, I would. I write this more as a warning because I know a lot of consumers use yelp to find places to stay. I rented 3 rooms here for a weekend bachelorette party. The two regular rooms were updated and seemed ok. The "luxury suite" we booked was dirty, but since there were 14 of us, I chose to stay in it, and try not to cause a scene for my friend. It had brown stuff smeared across the ceiling and bugs all over. There was a two inch gap under the back door, so that probably explains the bugs. This luxury hotel, as it's billed, is also located to one of the noisiest bars on the bay. The bar noise is what it is, and the closed promptly at 2 but the people leaving screamed for an additional half an hour. Friday night was noisy, but Saturday was nuts. Saturday night the bars let out and the people who rented rooms next to us and above us were screaming at each other. They had a drunk woman walking down the hall beating on every door and screaming to be let in. Finally the police arrived to break up a fight and check on the woman. The noise continued well into the night. Then morning crew came in at 6:30 to move golf carts around and were very noisy both days. I'm not one to write negative reviews but I genuinely felt unsafe. I approached the man behind the counter in the morning to talk about my experience, he was nothing short of ambivalent and rude. I wasn't looking for anything, but as a business owner, I assumed he'd want to know. He didn't. He interrupted me and told me there was nothing he could do. It was expected here. That this was a common occurrence and that is what the police are for. In my opinion, if people are often feeling unsafe and unhappy, you probably shouldn't bill the experience as a Luxury Resort. call it what it is: a motel for bar patrons. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. It's obvious they are just in this to make money, they don't care about the safety and well being of the people who choose to spend their money there and frankly I found the experience of talking with him and everything else about it disgusting.

The staff seemed very inexperienced--when I asked basic questions, they were often unfamiliar with the hotel's own rules and policies. I specifically requested a refrigerator in my room to store medication, but I was told there were none available. The only option I was given was to place my medication in the staff refrigerator until one opened up. For a hotel of this price point, this is not acceptable--especially since they do not allow guests to bring in coolers, and the rooms are not equipped with microwaves. When I asked to speak to the manager on duty, I had to wait 45 minutes for her to arrive because she was not even on-site--this on a busy weekend when leadership presence should have been a priority. To make matters worse, while I was waiting, I noticed a child playing behind the front desk, which made the whole operation feel very unprofessional. The rooms themselves are extremely outdated and in need of renovation. The television in my room did not work, and for a rate of $299 per night with a two-night minimum, you would expect at least modern amenities and quality hospitality services. Instead, the overall impression was one of neglect and lack of value. While Put-in-Bay is a great spot for a day trip or short visit, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel if you plan to stay overnight. The Grand Islander Hotel simply does not live up to its price or promises, and there are much better quality accommodations on the island
