Saunders helped us out big time on a late Saturday morning. Found our NEW tire flattened to the ground--the mister called Saunders and they said to bring it right over. Turns out, there was a nail through the tire. They were 5 minutes from closing (or was it 5 minutes after closing?) and happily offered to do the repair. Came here a couple weeks ago because I was looking into buying a used car in nearby Limerick that I had found online. Checked out the car in person, looked and felt great, and they assured me that it was in great shape, but I still decided to bring it to a mechanic for a second opinion. Found Saunders here on yelp, and decided to give it a shot. I had made the long trek from New York City, so I ended up arriving at Saunders after they were closed. But Dan (I think that was his name) stuck around late for me, did a meticulous check of the vehicle, and essentially let me know that the car wasn't going to pass the state inspection. shockingly horrible customer service. I hardly know what to say. My van sat there for 11 days and the guy just said "I don't know what's wrong with your van. There's a lot wrong with it." and that's it. We recently found ourselves in a dilema when a customer of ours broke down 2 hours away from the dealership. We had to find someone who could diagnose and repair the car quickly and get it right the first time. Not so easy in the best of situations let alone a panic state. Do not go. Guys are crooks. Took my invoice to pepboys and they let me know that I overpaid by $260. My brother in law also paid $700 for a coolant repair that didn't fix the problem. Tony Saunders failed to fix the issue and he only paid $500 elsewhere to have another mechanic repair the shotty work. read more

As someone that grew up building/racing cars, it's tough for mechanics to get one over on me when something breaks on one of my vehicles that I don't care to fix myself. Since moving to this area from NJ about 5 years ago, I've tried several different shops for odd jobs here and there, and as usual, about 1/2 of them tried to up-sell/convince me it a bigger issue than it was. Tony (Owner...I believe)/Saunders Auto Center however was an absolute class act. Went in with what was supposed to be a simple clutch master cylinder replacement on a 24 year-old, high mileage 4x4/back-up vehicle. This "simple" fix got very complicated due to the parts supplier shipping us a new, but ultimately defective master cylinder. Tony turned the truck around in just 1 day for the initial fix (very efficient), but thanks to the defective part, the same "dead clutch" issue occurred the next day after driving it a bit. Fully expecting to hear excuses and/or be told that the issue must be more serious/transmission-related, I was extremely pleasantly surprised when Tony's reaction to the truck coming back was neither of those things. Instead, he owned the problem, apologized for it not working properly, and dove into diagnosing the issue. There are only 3 parts to that clutch system: master cylinder, hydraulic line, and slave cylinder. With no evident leaks, there was no reasonable explanation that doesn't include ignoring the laws of physics as to why air would been able to get back into the system while driving (rendering it useless), but since defective new parts are so rare, Tony went through all the due diligence of replacing each remaining part of the system trying to find the problem. It was only after he'd replaced everything else that we could conclude that the master cylinder (first part replaced) was still the problem. He ordered/installed another new one, and the problem was fixed. Even though the complication was in no way, shape or form his fault, and even though he had to put MANY additional hours AND additional new parts into the job, at no point did Tony ask me for more money or make excuses. He was also very accommodating and communicative throughout the engagement. As such, I highly recommend him/Saunders Auto Center to anyone that prefers doing business with honest and otherwise ethical mechanics who will do whatever is necessary resolve the problem - without passing the buck (figuratively and literally). read more

We've been going to Saunders for about three years, and we love it. The prices are fair, they do good work, and they're honest. They'll let you know what repairs might be coming up, but they don't insist that you get them done right away. I also had a part that failed after a month, and they replaced it at no cost. (The part was under warranty, but they covered the labor and the towing charges from Berwyn.) I would whole heartedly recommend them. read more

honest,dependable, reasonably priced. They even drive me home and bring my car back to me when its done. I also had a day where i pulled in on a saturday afternoon late while they were closing. My battery was barely functioning. They did a test to make sure that was the only problem and replaced my battery on the spot even tho they were supposed to be closed. If I could give zero stars I probably would. I am very disappointed in the work that was done to my car. VERY SLOPPY and PRICEY. The car was brought in to be fixed and the interior got damaged - very negligent: multiple cuts in the cushioning beyond repair, scratches and stains. They will never admit they have done it and then to get it fixed they want to charge a lot for the replacement of the damaged parts.
