The line was long and I was seen at 8PM. Was told to inform the bus driver so I ran there, but when I got there they said they'd already given my seat to a chance passenger. I checked my watch, it was 8:01 PM. One minute lang. This means they'd started filling up that bus with chance passengers before 8PM. When their buses are late or delayed, passengers don't even get any percent of their money back, not even an explanation. There isn't even a grace period for passengers, not even 5 minutes. They moved me to a much later bus, and they wouldn't even give me a refund for the ticket difference, since I had reserved a more expensive ticket. Don't book your tickets online anymore, they won't hold it even for 5 minutes. There should be a grace period for passengers just as there is for your drivers and buses.

They asked if we had a minor/student, but there was no discount, so why ask? The station itself could have been more clean and inviting, but all we wanted was a safe, cost-efficient ride to the province. Overall, ride was smooth. I took an hour nap. A/C was fine, was able to put in 3 pieces of luggage in the cargo area. We arrived in Olongapo in 3 hours, then we had another hour to hit San Marcelino. Driving staff were professional, no-fuss. Would recommend if you are on a budget and have the patience. Victory Liner dropped us off steps away from my mom's house, right off the highway. The system worked fine for us. Would do it again if the ride is this smooth. Perfectly good option for most if you don't want to spend on taxis and unpredictable (or overpriced) personal drivers. Plus you don't have to deal with Manila traffic on your own, let the professionals at VL do it!

It's not really the bus line's fault, I think. Early morning trips (5:00 to 7:00) from Laguna (the bus comes all the way from Sta. Cruz, actually, before it passes through Los Banos) really tend to get packed, as it's filled with passengers who are off to work or school in Manila. Yes, there are people among us who patiently endure the long travel every day so they can come home to their family after-school or after-work. Living a short jeep ride away from Buendia, where one of their terminals is located, DLTB has become my go-to bus for my regular trips to Los Banos (where my sister and I studied and where I used to teach). The bus is clean, the drivers and conductors friendly, and the fare is affordable (Php 99). Their buses are relatively new compared to other buses plying the same route. And more importantly, there have been no accidents involving them in the news so far, so I'm quite comfortable during my trips and not stressing out over whether I'd make it to my destination in one piece or not.

Really…read more If there weren't shuttles transporting us back and forth to Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Cavite, we would all be taking several buses, jeeps, trikes, cabs--It's difficult, inconvenient, time-consuming and may not even be affordable. You probably won't see us ever again. These shuttles that travel to and from Makati make commuting so much more convenient. Fares are reasonably priced and relatively cheap, if you consider the time and energy you'll be saving, as well as convenience. There are a lot of specific routes to certain neighborhoods and other central locations, and from the drop off points for some people their homes are just a walk or a trike away. On a good time of the day (not rush hour) it takes me just around 15-20 minutes to arrive Makati and vice versa, thanks to Skyway. Queues can get really long during rush hour (as expected), or when there's a sudden downpour, as Metro Manila traffic does not tolerate rain too well. This station is newly built for more than a year or so already. It used to be so cramped at that station underneath the Ayala MRT (it was HELL), but this station is more spacious and even has a nice selection of food kiosks, vending machines, and a clean toilet.

This place is a five minute walk from Ayala MRT station, and is near Greenbelt, SM Makati, Landmark and Glorietta. In North, we don't have much shuttle services or I am not really familiar that's why when I learned that my boyfriend rides here to his place, I got excited and we scheduled one day for me to experience being in a shuttle. From the Terminal, we just waited a few minutes until the van makes his way on the street. In less than thirty minutes, we reached parañaque without hassle. The thing is, when it reaches 6pm, this place gets really crowded and the lines are crazy. You can opt to eat your dinner first while waiting because there are food stalls and vending machine available in the place. I checked their toilet and it's still new and clean.

Though their buses are great and well-maintained, I have a lot to say about the state of their bus terminals. A friend and I had to catch our bus to Tabuk (Kalinga) from the Kamuning cor. East Avenue terminal along EDSA, and it was just jampacked with waiting passengers. There isn't enough seating and some of the areas near their concessionaires are cordoned off and are not for sitting if you are not buying anything from their store. The waiting area is not airconditioned, and is exposed to the smoke and the pollution from EDSA, making the long wait for our bus unpleasant. It wasn't even a holiday and there wasn't a mass exodus from Manila but the bus station was inexplicably packed to the rafters. The bathrooms are gross (how dare they charge a fee), and the entire place just needs a major facelift. I hope Victory Liner gives us a better waiting terminal. Their Pasay waiting terminal for north-bound buses is not even marginally better, if not worse. I still love Victory Liner, though. It is always so convenient to just hop on and go on a worry-free trip to Baguio, Pampanga, Tarlac, and most places in the North. I don't think they stop at La Union or Ilocos, though, and they should because their buses are nice, well air-conditioned and are in good shape, and the drivers are careful, though they get you there on time. I also appreciate the student discount, which enables me to save quite a lot.

During our last trip there, my husband, me and our one-year old shared two seats, along with our hand-carry items and baby bag, and there was still some room for us to move around. But as it is with most buses in Manila, leg room is a bit of a problem if you're more than six feet tall. Also, no shady stop-overs. I even came to enjoy our first stop-over (travelling from Baguio to Manila) because it had a lot of food stalls serving street food and drinks. It became a 30-minute food trip of some sort. And don't worry if you missed your bus or if you decide to extend your vacation, because Victory Liner has the most number of trips in a day. It used to be the case that buses from the south, i.e. Cavite (plying the routes of Tagaytay, Dasmarinas, Cavite City and Trese Martires) would go all the way to the city center of Lawton in Manila, and cause major traffic especially during the rush hour. A few years ago, MMDA came up with a brilliant plan to prevent buses from clogging up our streets - they set up the South West Integrated Provincial Transport Terminal as a hub for provincial buses. If you need to take a trip to one of the cities mentioned above, you would need to head down to the old Coastal Mall to catch your bus. What's great is that the buses are more organized and systematic here, and you can easily catch a scheduled bus to any of the key points in the route sytem. This is where my friends and I would usually catch a bus on the way to Tagaytay. The bus terminal is still very crowded and it could get busy, but it's a good start.

Reinalyn is one of my favored bus lines for a variety of reasons. For one, it's one of the few bus lines that takes the route from Las Pinas to Lawton. A lot of the buses that go through the streets of Alabang Zapote Road don't go as far. Second, they're service is dependable. I can reasonably expect their bus drivers to get me to where I'm going on time. This is true because unlike some bus lines they don't spend a lot of their time idle at the stops until the bus is full. They stop, drop off their passengers and wait for anyone who want to take a ride. Price isn't really different from other bus lines since they all have the same rates anyway. What I get from Reinalyn is the convenience of knowing that I'll get to my destination on time.

People told me it's a lot more accessible now, and only one bus ride away. The Genesis Bus Line offers daily trips to various locations, including Baguio, Baler, and La Union. They offer regular trips and special ones, the latter making no stopovers and bringing you straight to your destination. Don't worry, they have a bathroom on board the bus! For only P700, just a few hundreds more than the regular fare, you'll cut about 3-4 hours off your trip. When I took my Baguio trip, the bus reached the city in just about 4 hours. We left at around 2pm in Manila, and arrived just before 6:30pm, just in time for dinner. The bus is also very comfortable, with reclining chairs, wifi, blankets, and water and some crackers given to the passengers. There are only a few seats on board (I think about 24?), giving lots of space for each passenger. It's incredibly easy to book a ticket! I'm glad that Genesis makes Baguio so accessible now. I'm targeting Baler for my next out of town trip, and yup, using Genesis to get there! Oh, but just don't try giving them a call. It doesn't seem like anyone picks up their landline.

I've been on a lot of buses given my status as a commuting student. What I can definitely say is that they run a good operation. I have standards for buses and so far theirs is one of the best buses I've been on for a very long time. The particular bus line that I'm talking about is Erjohn & Almark. I'm no longer a hundred percent sure as to whether or not their buses still go along the Alabang to Manila route, but there used to be a time that they did. I saw one the other night and thought that they still operate. Their buses are great because, one their drivers don't idle too long at bus stops which means you're almost riding a UV Express. Two, their buses are simply great. Usually bus seats are five per row. Their seats are two per row. Their seats are more comfortable for the simple reason that their are only four seats in a row. Part of what makes commuting on a bus a little bit awful is the lack of space. with Erjohn & Almark I knew I could get where I wanted to on time and in comfort.

Most of the passengers all want to go to Makati so all of them end up in the same place. The van moves at a fast pace the entire way. The downside is the cost. UV Express is by far the most expensive, barring a taxi, way of commuting to Makati. Furthermore, the van tends to get cramped as the operators like to squeeze in a certain number of people before they give the dirver the go signal.
