I had the good fortune to receive an invitation to the Academy of Motion Picture's member screening of The Grandmaster," by Wong Kar Wai. Within the complex, there are a variety of media-related tenants ranging from award-winning independent filmmakers and educational film distributors, from sound designers to record producers.
The film was shown in he Alan Splet Theatre. It is the ultimate "man-cave!" Seating about 50 guests, the seating rivaled the best Lay-Z-Boy recliners. The Dolby Digital surround-sound was something to hear, especially with the great cinematography of the film.
It was really a special occasion to see a film there. Unfortunately, there is no snack bar. read more
