Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly. We didn't want a "Me Too" spray-on cool-deck with plastic dec-o-drains like everyone else. We wanted something really special and finally decided on a Turkish Travertine deck. We quickly found out there is very little travertine expertise in the Austin area. We feel very lucky that we were able to find TJ because as you can see in the pictures he is a true artist! He did all of everything you see except the pool shell and pump equipment. He did all the base-work, concrete, coping and laid over 1000ft of "Autumn" travertine stone in a Versailles pattern. He also engineered the awesome drain systems in the concrete to work with the slotted travertine drain tiles. No plastic deck-o drains here! We couldn't be more happy with the results. We get raving compliments from all our friends and everyone that sees it. The guy with the pool company that came to turn-up the pool and give us pool school said "I absolutely love your deck! I turn up over 300 pools a year and this is my hands down favorite!" Now that's quite a compliment TJ! TJ was a really great guy to work with on this project. He takes great pride in his workmanship and doesn't cut corners. His prices are very reasonable and we are so happy with everything he did for us. My wife dealt with these folks as I was out of town, so I never had any interactions with them. The price was a little higher than I expected since they were using my materials, but I wanted it done quickly and they got it done! The workmanship was ok, I would've liked it done slightly different, but I wasn't around to voice this, so who am I to complain? My wife was very pleased, so I guess I need to be!
