Where to begin? lol. Service was just ok, the server may have been having an off day and did not smile. The portions are plentiful and enough for leftovers if you dare. The prices were good. However, the ribs were tough and the chicken was dried out and the skin like rubber, no seriously do NOT try to eat it. The corn on the cob in my opinion was from the day before. It was dry and the kernels were popped. The Texas toast was cold. The ambience felt like a bar and was pretty good. Lots of choices on the menu and IMO, way too many. The tea was ok, but not "home brewed". I have managed a restaurant front and back and been a server, so maybe I am too picky. I will not go back. read more

Sauced Hogs is such a unique place that we've now been to a few times. First, really appreciate the variety available on their menu-- something for everyone. Second, love the juke joint type of no frills vibe. I feel like the bar is something you'd see in a small town movie scene. Third-- the food is plentiful with big portions... great value. Fourth, the food is overall good depending on what you order. For example, the pork chops are tender and flavorful but the bbq pulled pork is egh. The starters are great but the chicken skillet could use more seasonings. All in all, it's all good, just some dishes could use some more seasoning. We've become semi regulars here, once it twice a week BECAUSE the food, the portions and the service is all the best around, and we've tried everything ISO a fun relaxing place with good prices ( seniors) that we can afford. Crystal is the best , food comes out right and hot and if not they'll make sure you leave happy. Daily specials too. Love the pulled pork tacos on Tuesday. Met up with some friends on a weeknight to eat and have a few beers. Great service and casual atmosphere. You can sit at the bar or at tables inside or out. Our server was spunky and fast. We went with friends hoping to enjoy some local bbq. Our server never smiled, maybe Sunday lunchtime isn't her best day. One friend had the Reuben egg rolls. She said they were fantastic. Another friend had a pulled pork sandwich which was warm and dry. My wife had a club sandwich that looked great but had an odd chemical taste. I have known BBQ my whole life. My choice wasn't the best BBQ I've had by a long shot. I ordered brisket and ribs. The ribs were overly fatty and were reheated as evidenced by the twice looked bbq sauce coating. The rib bone pulled out of meat without any effort. What was left looked like a McRib. There was barely any smoke flavor. The brisket was sliced paper thin and heaped in a pile. Not my idea of fresh smoked brisket that is sliced a quarter inch. Looked like an Arby's roast beef sandwich filling. Tasted like it too. The baked beans were paste with some pieces of meat in it. The best part was the tater tots. The portions are plentiful and the prices are reasonable. I imagine regulars get better service. We're locals but new to this restaurant. I'm not going back, so check them off the list. The BBQ search continues. read more

I just moved to Citrus Springs a few months back and been checking out different barbecue restaurants so I decided to try it out. The food was amazing besides 1 item they had. The brisket was sliced and the side of juice from the barbecue was amazing. The beans and the mashed potatoes with gravy were spot on. The portion was big enough I had to take some home. The reason I rate them a 4 a few reasons. The garlic bread when you bite into it so much melted butter and garlic squirts in your mouth. I love garlic bread but I think y'all should consider making hush puppies instead of garlic bread. Easy to make. Not expensive and will draw more people in I would rate you a 4.5. I did not rate you a 4 because the garlic bread was such a small part of the meal. However please consider my recommendation. read more

This place serves the best ribs in my area, I am talking about baby back ribs. The wife gets the sautéed mushrooms with hers. (We split a full rack.) The mushrooms are very good according to her. We get them to go as it is noisey and hot inside. An A plus as far as I and concerned. Next time we will try the smoke prime rib. Only available on Friday and Saturdays. read more

Paul is phenomenal. He was so friendly! Even showed us pictures of the cats he rescued. (I'm a cat lover). I was sad to see that not many people had come to brunch there. It's only recently started, and I don't think many people know about it. Gotta say, it was really good. I got a burger, and it was quite tasty. Mama got French toast and loved it. Everyone was happy w their food. So... come to breakfast some Sunday at Sauced Hogs. That's when it's available. You will be as happy as I was! PS. Ask for Paul to be your waiter. Staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. I got a pulled pork salad. It was a very large portion for the price. Meat was hot, salad was cold and crunchy. My husband got brisket and mushrooms, with sweet potato fries. Brisket is sliced (beware!); mushrooms were cooked perfect; sweet potatoes were cooked well also. transplanted memphis native here (yeah Memphis! A barbecue capital) was looking for quality local BBQ... this is definitely not the place to go. Got the brisket and bbq chicken quarters. Extremely disappointed. I would've gotten a better meal at Sonny's barbecue if that tells you anything. The brisket absolutely dry, absolutely no flavor. The chicken...oh my God how on earth can you screw up chicken? This place knows how to do that. just because you slop bbq sauce on top of a piece of chicken does not make it true southern barbecue. The baked potatoes? How do you screw those up too? They were absolutely nothing special, nothing has any flavor or spark or anything and the beans? Yeah, I can open up a can of beans too, and make all of this stuff at home for less than $10..... if I go out I spend $30 on a meal for two that better be really good and this was extremely disappointing. yeah a true southern barbecue we give you a piece of cornbread too, nope, not here! I can open a box of cheap macaroni and cheese too, this place is not good at all. This food was absolutely horrible and so disappointing. Absolutely zero flavor zero flair zero southern charm! never will I go there again. Y'all really need seriously need some help.... Try contacting Gordon Ramsay maybe you could be on an episode of kitchen nightmares or something.... I would hate to see your pantry and walk-in refrigerator and freezer area.... you guys should sign up for Memphis in May and show off your barbecue skills up there .... HUGE portion of succulent tender flavorful Pulled Pork for $14.99! My husband had the brisket and he was quite pleased with his too. Coleslaw good. We visit Hernando Fla. once each year and were lucky to find this place. They serve the best ribs I have had. I had 1/2 rack which was more than I could eat. The cole slaw was excellent and the baked beans were good but not the best I've had. The meal was $17.99. This rating is based on the food. The place looks terrible from the outside and is more bar than restaurant with loud music playing. Probably not the best place for kids but they do have a kids menu. If you want great food at a reasonable price, Sauced Hogs is hard to beat. The service was also very good. read more

Okay so I'm not huge on bbq let's just say that. I ordered the pulled pork nachos. The portion size was perfect for sharing......no need for the salsa the pork on this was to die for, the cheese sauce was perfect, whom ever put this together likes nachos and understands the ratio of cheese needed for great nachos, the amount of pork was terrific. A little sauce but not too much I added some as I was eating to the individual chip. jalapeños were perfect. This dish was the best dish of nachos that I've ever had in my entire life without a doubt. We are new to the area and will be bringing friends here for sure!! read more

Worst place for service, that we've ever been to. We were out visiting family and decided to try this place. We walked in, literally 2 custom the place. No greeting, no servers even looked our way. We sat waiting for 20 mins or so , and left figuring they don't care about customers or they don't need money. Found a great Mexican restaurant that was so welcoming. I am a regular at Sauced Hog whether it eating in or takeouts. I personally love their nachos and they have great Rubin's also. My wife loves their nachos bbq dishes. The staff is always attentive and management is great. They also have music outside on some weekend nights. read more

Wait staff was lovely. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the food I ordered. The brisket was awful - cut in thin strips with no bark and little flavor. We have been smoking our own brisket for some time and I have never had a fresh brisket that could be cut on a slicer, let alone into thin strips. Husband's pulled pork was okay and he said the coleslaw was good. Clearly a place for locals. It was noisy and the karaoke was interesting. Won't go back. read more

There's usually a line up of songs to play on the Jukebox. Country and Western is top pick, followed by some Neil Young and Bob Dylan. It's a classic diner/bar scene. The regulars hang out at the bar where they can get a good look at the TV screen or favorite waitress or waiter, Paul. When the place gets packed (and it usually does), you can wait a little longer for your food, but once it arrives and you start digging in ......awwww, the wait was well worth it. The bathroom is clean and spacious for the ladies. I've never set foot inside the men's room, but it must be nice. The guys appear to be happy. lol Be nice to your waitresses and they'll be nice back to you. Make sure to give them a good tip, even when it's been busy. They're doing the best they they can. I was hoping this place was going to be good but it just wasn't. We got the Ruben egg roll appetizer and it was amazing and the food just went downhill from there. I ordered the Cuban sandwich the bread was extremely hard and stale. The pork had no much fat in it and the ham was watery and weird. I ate almost half and took the rest home to the dogs. My husband got the brisket dinner and the meat was dry, very salty and paper thin. I got the sweet potato fries and they would have been good if they didn't sprinkle cinnamon sugar all over them. Mac and cheese was just ok I think it was homemade but it wasn't even warm. Too top it off at the end of the meal to pay we gave our credit card and they said they add 3% to the bill to use a credit card. Not that big of a deal but just not posted anywhere I guess that's why they have an ATM in the restaurant. read more

I read a few bad reviews when I first moved here 2 yrs ago and never tried for myself. We stopped in because everywhere else we went was way too busy. They were busy as well but people were moving in and out. Tables were bussed quickly and service was excellent. You could see all the servers hustling. The food was great as well. read more
