This grouchy, arrogant, old dentist needs to retire. I had uneven teeth caused by my original dentist who would not make my fillings on 2 molars the proper height. This dentist recommends a bite guard. I reluctantly agree to this even though I know it will never fix my teeth that are too low. He says he will fix my bite after a couple of weeks of wearing the bite guard. After reading some terrible reviews on Google about him ruining other patients bites, I'm really glad I did not let him work on my teeth. I tell his assistant about my allergies that include polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polysorbate. They order a bite guard made of triethylene glycol (TEG) which I was unaware of. I told them my allergies so I stupidly assumed they would order a bite guard made of a material I would not be allergic to. PEG and TEG are very closely related and they should have talked to the manufacturer before ordering it. I picked up the bite guard in their office. The dentist made a few adjustments to the bite guard, but I couldn't even close my mouth completely while wearing it. Ridiculous! My mouth felt irritated after trying the bite guard in their office, but I thought it was just because I was not used to it being in my mouth. I did not wear it again until the next day. The following day, I wore it for 5 minutes at home. My gums began to itch. I removed it. A few minutes later I had anaphylaxis and couldn't breathe. I gave myself an epipen injection at home which worked for only 5 minutes. I washed my mouth out trying to get the toxins off of my gums, but it didn't help. My 82 year old mother drove me to the ER. I was helped immediately. They gave me an injections of 3 medicines to stop the reaction. A couple of days later, I called to get a refund for the bite guard. My husband returned it to their office because I was too traumatized to see them again. An office woman sent me a check for the bite guard, but I had to wait a couple of weeks to receive it. She would not refund me for the office visit stating they had spent time with me. I never got an apology from anyone. Instead, the woman said the dentist would never give me a mouth guard that would cause an allergic reaction!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! Really!!!!! I called the manufacturer of the bite guard. I told a female employee my allergies to polyethylene glycol and polysorbate. She said I had a reaction because the bite guard was made of triethylene glycol and polyethylene glycol are closely related in composition. I never talked to or saw the dentist after this happened because he is totally incompetent! I am lucky to be alive after this horrible reaction! They don't fix your dental problems and sell you a bite guard that you don't need. Don't go there if you value your life!!!!!!! read more
