Jennifer Shulstad left me with permanent facial scarring after a botched tattoo removal. Worst of all, she spent an embarrassing amount of working hours fighting against giving me a refund. You go through Groupon, you'll spend way more money going to double board certified plastic surgeons to fix it. But don't take my word for it. Just go to a medical doctor's office or else you can and will be seriously hurt and no she does not care about you. This happened after just one session and I could feel that they were doing way too much. I tried to push their hand away and they kept lasering. The cold hammer to the head can cause serious health issues and she held it to my temple for several minutes causing the most pain possible. I regretfully need to share an unfortunate experience I had at Satin. I bought 2 laser hair removal packages (paid upfront in full) and after completing the last session (6) have absolutely zero results to show. I am so disappointed and upset that I wasted so much money and have no results to show for it. I am a perfect candidate for hair laser, with pale skin and very dark hair, but I am unsure what went wrong. Whether it was tech error or what? [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seems as though there is a revolving door of staff at the spa, as I had multiple different techs working the laser during my sessions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I should have done more due diligence before selecting this location but was fooled by the "Satin Guarantee" that I now know is intentionally vague because otherwise people would see right through the BS. The "guarantee" is that you can come back 2 additional times, spaced 1 year apart each after you finish the 6th session. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As I had no results by the 6th session, I asked what could be done and was told I could purchase MORE sessions, which was infuriating to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Why would I buy more sessions after not getting any results? I ended up finding another laser hair removal provider and saw noticeable results after the first session. Another thing I wanted to comment on/warn others about is the insanely expensive Neogen laser. My mother in law made an appointment at Satin for this treatment and paid an obscene amount. Unfortunately for her, she also did not get ANY results. She was sold snake oil with this laser and after further research regrets wasting her time and money on this. Would not recommend Satin. Although they have tried to some extend in making my experience better with laser hair removal, it has not improved. I was given one free session to try and make up for the lack of results, but nothing outside of that. I have had previous treatments to my inner thigh, stomach and bikini area with really great results at Ideal Image. I had my 10th? treatment at Satin Med Spa a couple of months ago and you'd never guess it by how much hair still grows back on my legs. It's ok for a few weeks after a session and then it's back to shaving and having stubble the next day. I have a very clear difference between my inner thigh...which was done at ideal image, I have no hair there...and the rest of my legs. I have been debating going in for yet another treatment, but at this point I think I need to try another place. I have spent well over $3500 at least for no results and feel ripped off. This was my first tattoo removal experience and the owner Jennifer told me it would be about 3-6 sessions to remove my tattoos. This was March 2017!!! It's been almost 4 years and 15 sessions later and they are not even half gone!! I finally decided to get opinions from other experts and they have all said my skin is so hyper and hypo pigmented there's nothing they can do!!!! Good people, clean space, but as far as the treatment I have received (5 different times) the results have been minimum and they have managed to kill some of my skin pigment. In doing so the whole purpose of having clearer skin went out the window, I wouldn't be so mad if I didn't spend thousands of dollars over a couple years span to end up with damaged skin. They constantly switch the people working there too and that in part is responsible for the bad treatment, in my opinion, as they go based off the last person's notes and don't know exactly what they are doing! read more
