This is possibly the best Chinese takeaway place in Papakura, and my family visit this here…read moreprobably once a week for dinner. The staff are generally pretty friendly with a good sense of humour, and there always seems to be so many of them working in the small kitchen area. The portions of food that they dish out are large, and the special fried rice that they make here is always packed with plenty of meat and cashew nuts; One of my favourites. They have a smorgasbord here too, where you can pick and make your own concoction of Chinese food. There is an art to stacking those plastic smorgasbord containers though that I haven't quite mastered yet. By the end of it, the mountain of food looks a bit like Jenga!

I've phoned in & ordered w/ little hassle & a few minutes later I've been able to pickup & go! They're friendly. They're a mix of fish and chips and Chinese food by the plate load, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The best part about Nocky's and inarguably the most popular, is their chicken nibbles. You just can't go wrong and I know very few people (with bad taste) that don't enjoy these. They are perfectly fried and cooked every time, and you can buy 40 or 100 at a time. Those chicken nibbles are a great feature for any shared lunch and will disappear before you know it. Needless to say they taste awesome! I love the pineapple fritters here, which is what I look for in every takeaway shop, and they do another awesome dish- pineapple and cashew nuts with combination meat (but you can pick just one meat if you prefer), a favourite of mine if I'm on my own. The staff here work pretty fast and even when its busy the wait isn't too long- they definitely know how to feed a crowd. The prices here are reasonable whether you're buying food for one or twenty, and they always give you a good deal if you're buying a lot. I've seen a couple of Warriors players here on weekends too grabbing food (I won't name drop!), so that's got to be some kind of compliment to this place!

Sure it's nothing special, no excessive decorating, you have to go through kitchen to get to toilet, handwritten ..some misspelt extras to the menu written on card sheets on the wall and no flash tables or chairs, but we like it how it is that's why we keep coming back ...and back again. The service is friendly, good atmosphere, nice food and the price is really good especially when comparing what you get to other places out there. Anyway specifically about the food...we have tried several different dishes over time but have now come to the point where we love it so much that we just order the whole duck everytime...this is eaten two ways ( 两吃 ) and maybe sometimes we order some veges too. The duck is cooked well and I could eat a lot more than what is given on the plate. So delicious it is!!! Other dishes we have eaten there over time meet the same standards. It can get busy at times as it is popular ....more so with locals. But no doubt there has been a few out of towners wander in now and then. They do take out also. The staff were efficient and runned off their feet, but could do with a smile. The food was as good as any Chinese restaurants and the portions huge. We doggie bagged several containers from each table. We had plain chicken and duck. The roast pork is a specialty of the house and is definitely good. We liked the beans fried with mince. Prawns on a tofu base. Fish cooked in two styles, deep fried and stir fried with vegetables. Eight dishes with rice came to NZ$23/- per head. That night the restaurant was packed with Chinese speaking clientele.

Lots of options, but I ended up getting the egg and tomato noodle, which is my go to. Sauce was decent, and the noodles were pretty good. I also got some of the cold sides, which were my vegetable component, but they were super salty. Yikes. Overall, glad I found this spot. If you're in the area, worth checking out.
