I tried their unique flavor called "Very cherry cheesecake" and "cookie dough" ice cream. Two scoops, one of each flavor in a waffle cone and it was yummy! The cookie dough flavor has chunks of cookie dough in it, soft and chunky. And the very cherry cheesecake is just the right blend of cheesy and cherry. I usually don't like cherry flavor things but this was great tasting. It was busy in there when I stopped in but the staff were doing a good job of being polite even though they seemed a bit tired.

Another one of those Winnipeg institutions - we all remember Sargent Sundae from our childhood. It's situated in a great location, just over the walking bridge from Assiniboine Park. A lovely stop after a fun day at the park, especially if it's a hot day. There's lots of outdoor seating around and the shop with lots of seating in the shade. It's a busy spot when the temps are high so waits can be long - but it's worth it. I love that they have kid sized sundaes - it was the perfect size for my niece. The kid size strawberry sundae had tons of fresh strawberries in there and at about $2, it was a great price too! I really enjoyed the cookies and cream hard ice cream. The cookies in there tasted like the soft cookie base to an ice cream sandwich - love that! The ice cream tasted really rich and decadent so one scoop is more than enough for me. It's a lovely treat on a hot day! Oh and remember, it's CASH only!

    Wow-zaaa!

Excellent pumpkin pie soft serve ice cream. Large portions and reasonable prices. Lines were long but it was worth it.

Amazing icecream, one of the best I have ever tasted and the price is so low! They only take cash though.

I know Winnipeg has a lot of great places to get a hamburger so I asked for a recommendation from…read moremy aunt who I was visiting. She recommended the Dreamland Diner. So driving back from the Banjo Bowl, I decided to try it out. It was somewhat busy but I was immediately sat in a booth and left with the menu. My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach and I have a habit of ordering more than I can eat. So to play it safe I ordered their smallest burger, the Junior which is basically a double cheeseburger , onion rings, and a milkshake. They had quite an extensive milkshake menu with various flavours and toppings. This was the most difficult decision I had to make so I went with a bubblegum milkshake with marshmallow topping. May sound off putting to some but it was very good. I didn't have to wait long at all for everything to arrive and tucked right in. The onion rings, more Dairy Queen style opposed to A&W, were a bit over done and lukewarm as though they had been sitting for a while. I only ate a few. The burger itself was good. I'm a big fan of using Kraft single cheese slices for burgers as they melt much better than most "gourmet" or exotic cheeses some places use. The patty was a little dry and could have used some seasoning but they mixed diced onions into the meat which added some texture to it. To my surprise I actually finished the whole burger. Surprised not because it wasn't good, it was, but because, like I stated earlier, I'm not a big eater but I left the onion rings behind. Overall it was a good experience. Service was fine. I probably wouldn't go back by myself but if I was with people and they suggested it I wouldn't say no.

The staff were very cheerful and professional. The food is first rate. Bring your appetite for one…read moreof their burgers! The steady stream of "oldies" playing brings out the charm of this retro style diner.
