I just had some really good ice cream at this place. They have very unique flavors. They offer plenty of different options of flavors too. I ordered the Abir Al Sham which is orange and rose blossom with toasted pistachios and cashews. They offered it to me in a cone and I chose medium. For their sizes, medium is plenty! I was picturing something smaller. Abir Al Sham tastes fantastic and it's not overly sweet. I just noticed that they offer a very favorite of mine: Affogato! Next time... The dining area is clean and it offers plenty of seating. I would love to return here and probably will for my next Winnipeg adventure. I got the Reese Pieces flavour and it had wayyyyy too much peanut butter flavour and not enough chocolate at all to call it Reese flavour. Overall, very disappointing, way too expensive. The menu changes pretty often as far as I know, and they have ice cream by the pint available for purchase as well. I had the LaLa Lemon ice cream, which as you can imagine is extremely lemon-y. On the sour side too, which is what I prefer as opposed to it being sweet. Service was excellent here, and if you're looking for samples they will offer a small spoonful to you. Wow! Just absolutely WOW with Chaeban Ice Cream! The every flavor offered and presented the tastes were truly amazing. It tastes homemade using the most flavorful and the most simplest of ingredients. For a first time visitor, it's great to try out their Flights. You can order 4 flavors of a generous scoop of ice cream in 4 separate small dishes. I ordered: Donnie Darcocoa, Almond-o Salazar, Mojito Mint Patti, and Mustang Sally. And for an extra treat: ordered a Sundae: Fun with Carl and Jane. As I mentioned the flavors are rich, creamy (the right kind of consistency), and all around delicious. My default is always a chocolate ice cream and Donnie Darcocoa was intensely rich in the chocolate flavor. I totally enjoyed it. The Mojito Mint Patti surprised my taste buds; I found myself going back to it more frequently. The cafe itself is clean, pleasant, airy-bright, and open. Every where in the location will make a perfect Instagram photo-op. There's even a couple of photo-boxes to take an Instagram pic of your delicious, eye-candy (no pun intended) treat! Found a delicious, delightful ice cream parlor on Osborne Street. Chaeban Ice Cream offers all natural ice cream made on site from locally sourced ingredients. You can get an individual cone, or a "flight" of four flavors. We tried most of the flavors and and they were each uniquely delicious. Two of the flavors will ignite your taste buds like nothing you've had before, "Baba Beets", and "Abir Al Sham". Staff was very friendly, helpful, and offers free samples. A complete disappointment due to the price. I was thrilled to learn a new ice cream shop was coming to Winnipeg, and I took the first opportunity I could to try it out. I was sorely disappointed, however, when I discovered the absolutely obscene prices they are charging. For two small scoops of ice cream, I paid $8.50!!! Seriously! Who came up with these pieces and thought they were somehow appropriate! I used to own an ice cream shop, and by charging $2.99 for a similar quantity of ice cream, I garnered a 70% profit margin. Evidently, the new owners of Chaeban didn't think that type of profit margin was adequate. The ice cream was good, though certainly not exceptional, and in no way good enough to justify the obscene pricing. The beet ice cream was good, though a bit icy (which is typical of ice cream that uses fruit or vegetables as its flavor base). The Abir Al Sham was quite nice... smooth and creamy with a very interesting flavor. As a former small business owner, I appreciate the challenges of remaining financially viable, but gouging your customers is not the key to success. My visit to Chaeban will NOT be repeated. read more

Some mediocre and some horribly strong flavors. There should be no losers on an ice cream menu, but this place has some. My wife asked if they can avoid cross contamination for serving gluten-free because she has celiacs, and all they said they can do is wash her scooper, not serve from fresh containers. If you or anyone you know has celiacs, than you know how ridiculous that is. One server insisted everything was gluten free while the server next to him tried to correct him that one or two have gluten. Today was my time trying Chaeban ice cream, and I was happily surprised. So often places like these translate well on social media, but fall flat in reality. However Chaeban lived up to my expectations. I got the Baba beet, Reese piece, Amir Al Sham and the special sour cream glaze donut with thyme and rhubarb. All the flavour were well constructed and thought out. Each flavour building off each other into a wondrous symphony of flavours. The Amir Al Sham was by fare the best, notes of orange blossom and a beautiful vanilla base, dotted with cashews and almonds. The Baba beet ate a little icy and finished on the bitter side. The place was very clean, lots of natural light for great photo opportunity #doitfortheinsta. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also the free parking in the back was a nice plus. The only other downside besides the beet ice cream, was the price, it was a little expensive for my liking. But I will be coming back for the spectacular Amir Al Sham. read more

Took my kids here today (7 & 9). We got the Flights (4 different flavours of icecream). We had Salty Carl, Reese Piece, Prairie Barry, and Coconut Glen. All three of us enjoyed all the flavours, and the staff were super friendly and pleasant. 7 year old's favourite flavour was the salted caramel one (Salty Carl), and the 9 year old liked Reese Piece best. Portion sizes were slightly on the smaller side, but the ice cream is rich and flavourful and we don't like to overeat when it comes to treats, so it was just right for us.
