I recently got takeout from this spot and it's probably some of the best BBQ I've had in the Greater Boston area. I got the 1/2 rack rib platter and a side of pork belly burnt ends. For my sides, I got hushpuppies and mac and cheese. The sides were both ok (I think they would've been better if I ate them in the restaurant vs getting them delivered to me). I think the mac and cheese prob could've used more flavor, but I liked the cinnamon butter on the hushpuppies. The 1/2 rack of ribs was sooo tender. They said it was to feed 1, but it was easily enough for me and my mom (with leftovers!). The meat was falling off the bone and was super juicy. Not dry at all. It paired really well with their homemade sweet Honey BBQ sauce. I tried the Chuck sauce as well, not my fave to pair with meat, but it wasn't bad. I like how they have a lot of sauces to choose from, and I would love to try all of them one day! The pork belly burnt ends were good as well, rich and sweet with the perfect amount of smokiness. Was running an errand nearby and have not been in this area in years. I decided to find lunch and have something that isnt around in Plymouth. My stomach led me here. The lady who took my order (maybe the boss) she was very friendly and welcoming. I went with a brisket platter and added a few ribs. I was excited to see hush puppies on menu been years sincei have seen these down south. The brisket was great and wasn't a cheap thin slice of fat as some others may serve, ribs were good. I've eaten here a few times and I can confidently say the BBQ is excellent. There a few menu items I miss, like the Drunken Cow, but the platters are always a hit. Their signature Mac n Cow is enormous! I love the portion sizes here, I never leave without a full stomach that's for sure. The service speed is generally fine, I came in around lunch rush with about 5-6 people ahead of me and I wasn't waiting more than 10 minutes. We've had good experiences in the past, but definitely not this time around. I'm not sure you could classify this sandwich as, "pulled pork". We had to come home and essentially chop the meat up in order to enjoy it. Flavor wise, the meat was good. Also, the hush puppies are simply not great. The consistency is too dense, yellow cornmeal is not the way to go, and it tastes like pancakes to be honest. There was also no sweet tea made so we had to find a substitute. The Mac and cheese was very Al dente, it was like they were rushing to serve it quickly. I absolutely love the bbq here as I've reviewed previously. However their weighing method is very confusing and inconsistent. I usually order 2 or 3 pounds of burnt end to stick in the freezer. My last few orders have been short. 16 ounces is a pound. I weight it at home on the food scale and all the container were about 14.64 ounces. For the amount in paying ($38 per lb.) I expect 16. That's over 3 ounces missing. Not trying to be picky but that's another meal. read more

Come early because the tastiest burnt ends on the menu goes fast during the weekends! Fantastic slices of meat with delicious flavors and a huge variety of homemade sauces. Lots of options for sides, my favorite the Mac n cheese and the hush puppies. Platters come with corn bread and three options for butter! Bacon, cinnamon or plain. Solid selection of beer as well. I don't get a chance to see too many BBQ places in Massachusetts but this one is a definite recommend for me. Came here with high expectations and none of the food let me down. Great spot for bbq, on the pricy side but decent size portions. The Bowls are excellent, big enough for 2 meals. The add ons make for an expensive bowl though. Was down in the area visiting my Brother and fam and this is his favorite spot so we decided to go and have a little fam lunch. So first of all I went in there hungry (bad mistake) I tend to over order when hungry - doesnt everyone? Got the kids some chicken and mac & cheese, ordered several plates to pick & share. Was a little overwhelming in the place I feel like we ordered enough food for a small village but the Owner & staff were OVERLY Accommodating, even had a little bit of a convo with owner and he gave me some free items (I Love GREAT customer service!!) Strip mall setting with front and rear entrances, easy parking in front and rear, outside seating, and about a half dozen tables for four with additional counter stools. Ordering is over the counter, but they'll bring your order to the table. Pretty extensive menu, with meats available in combos and by the pound. There's at least a half dozen sauces you can pump, with a good mix of sweet, spicy, mustardy, vinegary, mayoey, and barbecuey. Wings A- A gigantic portion (though at nearly $15 it better be), evenly mixed among flats and drumettes. We ordered them unsauced to take advantage of the many available sauces for dipping, and they were tasty enough on their own that sauce was an enhancer, not a rescuer. Good combination of crispness and moistness. Steak Tips D Ordered as part of a 3-meat combo; there were 6 of them, each about the size of a charcoal briquette, grilled and unsauced. Taste was okay, nothing special; couldn't detect any marinade flavorwise or moistnesswise. The meat was very chewy, and tough enough that I had to spit my second one out rather than continue unproductive chewing. There wasn't enough potential to try these again. Brisket B+ Also on the 3-meat combo, three long, thick slices that had both "flat" and "point" cuts. Both parts were moist to juicy and the meat had a pleasant smoky flavor that was neither weak nor strong. Ample salt added another flavor dimension. No pot roasty feel (so common elsewhere) and no sauce necessary for this meat, which was very enjoyable. Pulled Pork A Lots of delicate strings, some pink and some pale, all moist and extremely tender. Larger chunks were more pink (from smoke ring, not from being undercooked) and nearly as tender, with the added bonus of crisp bark. All of it had light smoke and a stronger combination of rub and pork flavor. This was good eats with or without the vinegar sauce that I recommend as an accompaniment. Easily one of the best examples of pulled pork in the region. Ribs C StL cut spares were tender and juicy, but a watery kind of juicy, with uncrisp would-be crusts. Decent flavor, tender texture, though more pork choppy than classic rib texture. Think of the pork strips you sometimes see at old school Chinese restaurants--that's what the color and texture reminded me of. Not a fail, but a missed opportunity to shine. Unlike with the steak tips, I do see potential her Sausage B An a la carte link came pre-sliced, which was good for sharing but at the loss of some moisture perhaps. Very tender and surprisingly sweet. A review of the menu reminded that they're cherry mango sausage. Lots of fennel seed to balance it out. This one's not for everyone, but different enough that it's worth a try. I liked it. Sides were similarly at both ends of the spectrum: Mac and cheese dazzled with warm, thick, gooey cheese, while potato salad was as plain as could be. Jiffy mix consistency/flavor on the block of cornbread, but good size and a few different butter options. Overall, a good showing despite the few duds. With wings, pork and brisket this good, they're at least in the discussion for better ones in the area and undoubtedly off to a good start. read more

I got burnt end platter on Friday with the sides Mac & cheese, loaded potatoes. To start with the good, the people who worked there were so nice! The sides were very good as was the corn bread. The sauces/ marinades they make were so tasty. The bad was the pork was extremely fatty.. Like 90% fat and a tiny bit of meat! The portions were tiny, too. Maybe burnt ends are supposed to be all fat and I didn't know that but it was really gross.. Like all pork fat! $30 and I threw most of it away.. Super impressed! What a great setup. I was a little concerned at first because the menu doesn't seem to have a 2 meat combo meal. They had platter meals with 1 meat and 2 sides. I asked if they could accommodate just a few ribs and brisket into a platter and they seemed to be perfectly okay with it. Although I'm not entirely sure what I paid for. I think it kind of all worked out? 1/2 Rack platter goes for $20.95 and that includes 2 sides and cornbread. I asked for some Brisket and they put it in there but I doubt I got the portion that the Brisket Platter has. The Brisket Platter is $21.95. I got an extra side of Rice and a Drink and a Pecan Square. I paid about $44 ... So I guess that kinda makes sense but still ... bit on the pricey side if you ask me. Good thing the Food was WORTH IT! Ribs were looking INSANE! Almost as thick as Beef Ribs, Awesome Rub and Glaze on the top, bit of a beautiful smoke ring, Dry rub rib with a bit of a drizzled BBQ cooked on, Pre-cut, smelled incredible. First bite got a "Wow" the natural flavor and juices of the pork were still there, actually the flavor of the meat was more powerful than the rub. The Rub flavor was amazing too, not salty at all, leaning a bit more on the sweet side if anything, but for the most part it's a nice savory smokey pork taste. Meat doesn't fall off the bone (which is a good thing) but it comes off real easy with the bite. Brisket has a Super black bark to it, perfect little amount of fat on top, maybe an inch of meat. Fat melts almost instantly like hot butter in the mouth. The Beef flavor is juicy and natural and unlike a lot of other briskets that are loaded with smokey flavor. The Fat itself had a TON of flavor in it though and it melted over the meat in the mouth like BBQ heaven. I've had a lot of Brisket and I can easily say that there is a "perfect" Brisket out there (probably Frank's) And I think Sarcastic Swine's Brisket gets real close to it, the only thing they might lack is a bit more flavor in the rub and more smokey flavor in the meat. But the texture is the hardest thing to achieve and I think they Nail it here! Mac and Cheese was Cavatappi pasta (Macaroni if it looked like a spring). Cooked well and with a simple cheese sauce. At first look I was disappointed because it was obviously just a cheese sauce and I'm always hoping for baked style. But the sauce was gritty and delicious so I know it was authentic and not some gross factory cheese goop or something. Blind taste test I would have said it was baked. Beans looked Awesome. Not a bunch of "runny" liquid sauce, more that muddy gravy look! Maybe a 3 bean recipe I saw Red, Pinto, and maybe White? Bits and pieces of bell pepper, onion, some pork. Flavor wasn't crazy powerful but it really complimented the natural taste of the Beans. Cooked perfectly so the beans stay firm until they easily break apart in the mouth. This is a baked bean recipe for Bean fans. A lot of places do a BBQ sauce bean (Cowboy Beans) or they through in some fruits or powerful spices and they're all really good but it kills the natural taste of just the bean. This place doesn't do that which is great in my opinion. Redneck Rice was pretty much a regular seasoned yellow rice with some corn, black beans, diced bell peppers, onion, nothing crazy. Taste didn't really remind me of all the other yellow rice recipes I've tried but it kind of made me feel like there was a cheese element to it. Not that there was cheese in it but the texture of the little bit of "mooshiness" around the rice kind of felt like it was a cheese sauce. Cornbread was magical. Even more so because out of the 100+ places I've been to, this is the first time I have ever been given an option of What Kind of Butter! Bacon Butter, Cinnamon Butter, or Whipped Butter! And I was like "ALL THREE!" jk ... but I should have. Went with Cinnamon. Cornbread to go was in a wax paper wrapping and it unfortunately took the top of the bread off with the paper. But it was moist and cool and a hint of sweetness, bit of a grit, kind of reminded me of a store bought mix but I still enjoyed it. Put the butter on it and then all the sudden it becomes the greatest thing on the planet. Pecan square I was told was "Amazing" and I gotta say .. might be a stretch. Looked delicious, but if it was warmed up I think it would be incredible. The coolness of it I think was killing the flavor, I just think it needs to be warm. But it was definitely good. Okay, their sauces are crazy. They have 11! Homemade Unique Sauces. Honey, Hickory, Hot Like Your Mama, Bama, Chuck, Golden, Cherry Bomb, Carolina, Jabba Dew Pickles, Q (AKA The Cure), and Kokua. Hickory, great flavor but for some reason the texture was like a cocktail sauce. Golden sauce was kinda green with all kinds of herbs and spices, lot of dill, lot of sweet. Jabba Dew Pickles is Dill and Mountain Dew sauce .. AWESOME! Cant describe it at all. read more
