I came with a party of 9 and made a reservation a few hours before. We arrived before 8 pm, which was before the DJ started playing. Although we were seated in the front, the music wasn't too loud once the DJ started playing. He had a nice mix of 2000s R&B, local artists, and some of today's hits. People occasionally line danced, which created a nice vibe. The food, marketed as tapas, was in pretty large portions that seemed to be better suited as individual meals. Everyone in my party who ordered food thoroughly enjoyed their orders, which included shrimp with Gouda grits, cornbread, macaroni & cheese, truffle fries, and chicken and waffles. Everyone also loved their cocktails. I had the Southside Shawty (vanilla vodka, elderflower liqueur, pineapple, sugar), which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Our server seemed a bit unenthused, and her attitude was a bit of a damper, but all in all, we enjoyed our experience and I recommend this establishment.

I can confidently say that the food was the absolute best brunch I have had all 2026 and that is no exaggeration. The menu was stocked full of yummy items. So we attempted to get most of them to try to test out the food. We had the shrimp and grits, which was super good and savory. Also had the Soulfood eggrolls which had turkey, greens, yams, macaroni and cheese stuffed in it. I got emotional eating them! I also have the chicken and waffles, which was really good. The waffle already had a sweetness and almost taste like a funnel cake. So I really didn't have to put any syrup on it. The chicken was super good and well seasoned. We also had the Biscoff French toast, which was absolutely amazing. I love Biscoff cookies, so to have That with FrenchToast was awesome. The drinks were perfection. The bartenders knows how to make off menu drinks as well, which is a plus in my book. The DJ was playing the type of music I like (90's/2000s R&B) and it first I thought having a DJ was gonna be too distracting, but it actually wasn't. It was a good vibe for brunch. I'm definitely going back for brunch again.

I eaten at some of them and enjoyed the food so much that I returned for repeat visit(s). Those experiences enable me to make a more valid review and comparison of CW&T with its competitors. Shortly aftert they opened for business I had the wings and fries which were whole, full sized, and flavorful. Unlike CW&T's competitors (from "Miami" and "Chicago") his did not have deep fried feathers attached. I've also had the house burger and since I'm a devout adherent to the local tradition I've had the fish dinner on several Fridays. The burger was fantastic but I was a little disappointed with the fish - it was good but they only had whole Jack and I prefer fillets. I'll close with my CW&T Soul Food Sunday experience. The first time I had turkey, dressing and mac 'n cheese. While I've had dressing from many places over the years none rivaled my mothers. Until now. It was outstanding! Just the right amount of sage. The only thing missing were momma's signature gizzards. The second time I ordered this trio I had the dressing and turkey wing but the wing was over baked and dry. However, I'd say that one less-than-stellar item out of the many I've had from Chicken Waynes and Thangs is a very good average. I encourage you to support this local business. R. Smith

You can really tell they put a lot of love and energy into this restaurant. The food came out fast, hot, and tasty! Ordering is easy on their kiosk, and also you can order at their counter. I love how you don't have to mention that you would like your chicken fried extra crispy, it is just served that way. A little quaint diner looking restaurant, no frills, just simple and straight to the point. The staff is super friendly and helpful, which is great for first timers because you don't know how to navigate what's going on. So we were informed to order at the kiosk and we could take a seat at any table. Our food was brought to us by a robot. The downside, yet another place that doesn't want to serve you FREE water and charge for every additional condiment. Whyyyyyy if I'm a paying customer do I need to pay for bottled water. How are you washing dishes, etc..... Also, as an owner of an establishment, anytime a patron walks into your establishment, this is a key moment for you welcome and acknowledge your customers. How rude is it that for us to be the ONLY customers eating inside the entire restaurant your staff is friendlier than you are. I appreciate that Cathy herself was making each dish and she does know what she is doing but the customer service on her part is highly lacking, luckily her employees make-up for the short coming. The catfish and grits is a delicious well crafted dish that is incredible when eaten cold. That speaks volumes to how good the dish is. The New Friday special which comes with 3 whole wings, 6 jumbo shrimp, 1 Catfish Fillet and coleslaw is another great option to try 3 items in one dish. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the catfish was tender on the inside and fried to perfection on the outside and the shrimp were large and not over cooked. Cathy definitely has her seasoning game on lock. And last but not least we ordered the cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp, added mushrooms. I would opt out of the chicken next time because it was chicken chunks that seemed to be out of the can, so it had a fake texture. The pasta sauce was flavorful and delicious and the entree was plenty for two. The wait was not long for our food which is a plus, some items I feel are over priced.

Walking through the office today I caught the smell of delicious smoked goodness and instantly wanted some for myself. I can't tell you how happy I was to find that the aroma that caused me to lose track of my engineering responsibilities was located directly outside the front door to the building. This was my 2nd time to get a mouth watering BBQ sandwich from The Southerner. The folks running the truck are always more than helpful and provide a meal that's a good value proposition. Quality, quantity and price seem to be well balanced. Albeit a tad bit on the expensive side. Look to spend about $12 for a sandwich and side. The turkey, brisket and sausage are all great. The brisket is pulled not sliced or chopped. It makes for a great tasting sandwich that doesn't need much sauce at all. Although the sauce is pretty darn good they get 5 stars for not needing it.

Deep fried pickle spears, crispy breading and a nice bite to them! All fried pickles are not made equally and these were some of the better ones I have ever had. Next I wanted to try the Cajun pasta with shrimp which was served over an entire smoked turkey leg. The meal was pricey at nearly $26 but the portion was HUGE!! Easily my to go box weighed 4 pounds. Enough for two or three people no doubt!! Shrimp shrimp was cooked perfectly, the smoked turkey leg was so tender you could simply eat it with a fork- and I did! The Cajun spice had good flavor and the entire dish was fun and delicious! Just because I had made a 30 minute drive to get here I thought I wanted to try some of the dirty rice as well. I don't eat pork at all and their dirty rice is made with beef. Again like everything else it was cooked well and had a good flavor. I got a full order and again the portion as you can see was huge. Rice was fluffy and had a good consistency- not to soft or mushy which sometimes happens with some places. The restaurant is basically a take out place only as they just have a window front to order. No tables to be able to eat inside. Everyone was very friendly and gracious and I would 100% recommend this place if you're interested in getting anything having to do with turkey. Glad I read about it and even happier I made the drive down. You will not be disappointed!!
