I came with a party of 9 and made a reservation a few hours before. We arrived before 8 pm, which was before the DJ started playing. Although we were seated in the front, the music wasn't too loud once the DJ started playing. He had a nice mix of 2000s R&B, local artists, and some of today's hits. People occasionally line danced, which created a nice vibe. The food, marketed as tapas, was in pretty large portions that seemed to be better suited as individual meals. Everyone in my party who ordered food thoroughly enjoyed their orders, which included shrimp with Gouda grits, cornbread, macaroni & cheese, truffle fries, and chicken and waffles. Everyone also loved their cocktails. I had the Southside Shawty (vanilla vodka, elderflower liqueur, pineapple, sugar), which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I think there weren't enough staff available as the outdoor walk up bar was completely backed up and there only seemed to be one waitress trying to help everyone seated outside so it took about 15 minutes for us to order our items and just as long to be served. In addition we ordered the ribs and a side order of fries. Although a long wait the food and drinks were good. We ended up sharing our table with other people and had a good time vibing to the music. Unfortunately the wait was extremely long we decided to go elsewhere instead of ordering more drinks and the people at our tables canceled their orders and left as they had been waiting over 30 minutes and still hadn't received their drinks. When our waitress finally came back around and we got our check I noticed an $11 charge for truffle fries. I asked her why regular fries were $11 and they were not truffle she said that's just the way it rang up and she couldn't change it. This is where I'm extremely disappointed. It's not her fault if what she said is true and because she was slammed (no fault of her own) I just paid the bill. Never in the history of my travels and eating out have I ever paid $11 for a plain ol side basket of fries. Thats insanity. I would've rather actually received truffle fries if that were the case. Based on the extremely long wait due to poor staffing which resulted in an extreme lack of service, and pricing issues I don't think I'll be back. If I do I think I'll order a drink directly at the bar and if there's no seating indoors go elsewhere.
