Dr.Sarantos did my bariatric sleeve surgery. I was not a majorly overweight gal only got approved because of a couple of medical conditions and charted history of weight fluctuating on diets and new kinda pill added then boom all that weight I lost and then some was back pattern for years and when the last couple of test showed my blood sugar levels rising higher everytime plus the BP, I knew I had to do something. Back to Dr. Sarantos and staff.
From the moment I met his first staff member at registration all the way to check out they were great. They could see I was nervous and uncomfortable (because I had been ridiculed so much by family and friends who didnt know or did know but didn't understand the severity of it, and I never talked much about my health problems or tried to show how much pain I was really in, just tried to get away and get home. I had my 3 people to lean on). I can't even begin to explain or express just how sweet, compassionate, intuitive, and caring these ladies are.
Now on to Dr. S. He has a great bedside manner, explains everything in a way you can understand and takes time to answer any questions you have. He runs all test needed before surgery to make sure it's safe at that time. The morning of your surgery, he will stop by and see you before they take you down to get you ready for anesthesia, (I was paranoid that when I woke up I wouldn't have my glasses, has happened many times and not fun for a almost blind person waking up from them kinda drugs) He was nice enough to walk down with us and once we got to anesthesia room, He took my glasses wrapped them in a towel, wrote my name, what they were and instructions to lay on bedside table in recovery room at first groan or movement) and promised me he would hand deliver them to recovery room if they didn't take me out in bed I would be staying in til I woke. I had my glasses as soon as I woke. First thing I saw was Dr. S, then My Mom, Daughter and Son (It was a Lil Foggy)
Later I got settled in my room, private at that much to my surprise even with state insurance, we don't get that luxury lol. Dr.S came in and said everything went great, and I could possibly go home Fri (this was Wed) but it would probably be more like Sat depending on how much walking I was able to handle. I told him I would be going home Fri Sir. Later that night I got a nurse and started walking and didn't stop 5 short walks the next day and 3 before he came in on Fri. Yes I went home.
You can call the office anytime if you have a issue and you will get a callback. And Amy is great at working with you on the insurance, matter of fact once you give her the paperwork she handles the rest. read more
