I'm not someone who likes to have her picture taken, so I was nervous about being the center of attention on my wedding day. Working with Sarah, though, was easy and fun. She made me and my husband feel comfortable, kept trying new settings and props and shots... it was like playing with a friend who happened to have a camera. When it came time to take photos of the wedding party, we weren't placed in a line, awkwardly clutching our flowers as I've seen at so many other weddings. Sarah had us sitting at the reception table, playing croquet in the games area, relaxing in the lounge area, while she snapped away. The result of this unconventional photo shoot is some of my favorite photos of myself and my friends. Not only can you appreciate the beautiful details of the wedding venue, but you can see each personality and the quality of our relationships shine through in the images.
There was a moment after dinner but before the rest of the reception kicked off when Sarah pulled me aside for some individual photos. The soft evening light was filtering through the trees, and I was no longer full of pre-wedding jitters. She captured the image that I had asked for, me with my dress strewn around me on the grass. Sarah had clearly remembered my request and was perceptive in reading my mood and the flow of the evening and knew exactly when to pull me aside. This is my favorite photo of me... ever.
During the rest of the reception, Sarah was like a fly on the wall. I didn't notice her running around, but we have amazing photos of every guest enjoying our reception. I was really impressed with the fact that our photos not only tell the story of the day, but each image is a careful composition. I feel that Sarah truly captured the feeling of our wedding day and the best side of all of the people who were involved. I can't recommend her enough. read more
