After relocating, it was challenging to find a massage that works for me…read more I have booked three appointments with Taiwan Spa and now they have a permanent customer. It's important to note that I have only requested deep tissue massages. (We're talking about using feet, elbows, and forearms.) I'm sure you can request much lighter pressure and longer strokes too. But people that are looking for fascia release? Look no further!

This place, at some point in time, was a stellar spot to get professional massages. The first owner…read moreactually had people who knew what they were doing. My visits during this time always left me leaving with wobbly legs because the masseuse had hit all the right knots. Then that owner sold it, maybe around 2020, to non-Taiwanese people. Suddenly, it was the sort of staff you'd find on every street in Chinatown, NY. I asked for the same treatment as I did the first couple of times. Not only did she skip the hot stones and stepping, it felt like I never got a massage just hours later. Needless to say, I never went back. I know another reviewer mentioned how the staff is filled with people that travel in and live together while they are here. That is correct. These are the kind of Chinese people that take one lesson, if any, and say they are qualified to perform the job. Don't get me wrong, some are truly skilled in their chosen profession. This lady I had simply was not that. Aside from that, the staff was very kind towards me. If you are lucky enough to find a masseuse that can take care of your problems here, then call it a blessing. Their price range is actually decent. I simply didn't want to spend the money on a guessing game and chose a spot much closer to home where I'm guaranteed a knot-breaking session by a true professional.

Divine Spark - The Tara Room at Divine Spark Massage & Reiki in Richmond VA

I recently moved to Richmond & was immediately trying out places for massages. I loved my previous…read moremassage place & needed something accommodating for my chronic illnesses & with enough availability. I looooove Divine Spark!! Their prices have recently increased to $100+ for an hour session, but honestly, that's more than worth it. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences here & I'm so glad my chronic pain can be treated in my new city.

I booked a session here being TOTALLY UNAWARE they are the best rated massage in Richmond, and you…read moreknow what? I left thinking, "That's got to be the best massage I have ever had." I have severe, chronic pain. I got a massage somewhere else--that I won't name here--and my pain was so bad, I let the masseuse use a lot of pressure. I realized this was a mistake the very next day and they'd done some damage, but I could not use my arm--which is a bad situation to be in. A few days later, I got an appointment here with Tiffany. Tiffany was AWESOME. Along with a general massage and cupping, she used a method called scraping--this, my friends, did WONDERS for my arm. The beds are heated. The face-thingies are SOFT (I don't know why I can't find this everywhere). The only downsides? 1. There's no membership option!!! WHY. WHY WON'T YOU LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY MONTHLY?! 2. There's no rooms for couple's massages, and booking two separate massages at the same time for two different people using their online system is. . .not something it wants to let you do. My trick is to book one massage with another directly after it--both times I've done this, I've been called and asked if that was intentional. Once I explained, they had no problem arranging for me and my partner to both get massaged. 3. When you arrive, there's no receptionist, no front desk--there's chairs and magazines, so you KNOW it's the waiting area, but it can feel awkward waiting and being unsure if anyone knows you've arrived for an appointment. Fear not; It seems these folks are punctual and aware of when a client should be there, so they'll pop out of the room they massage in and get you--don't be weird like me and wander around, making the fact you have social anxiety super obvious, awkward, and everyone else's problem in addition to your own; Sit down and open a magazine and read about Reiki. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. Richmond is flooded with just below average massage parlors/masseuses, which is why you're going to have a hard time ever getting the same, one, good masseuse at a location repeatedly; There's a LOT of turn over because, well. . .Not a lot of people are great at massage. If they are, odds are they'll begin working for a nicer place *cough*Divine Spark*cough* or relocate out of the area entirely. Since Divine Spark is the best, they're priced highly, so I see this place as a place to go when I'm in extreme pain or as a very special treat. Beware--this is a small location and company, so book well in advance if a specific date is important to you. I'm already ready for another appointment, but honestly, seriously, beware; Your next massage elsewhere will leave you disappointed after a trip to Divine Spark.

I am athletic and work on my feet all day, causing a lot of aches and pains. Linda keeps my body from wearing down. I see her every six weeks and she knows exactly what to do. Her space at Wen is so relaxing and quiet. She has the most comfortable heated table and is sure to be mindful of your specific needs. She provides a relaxing and therapeutic experience. I highly recommend!

She is located inside Parlor on Broad St. I love this salon atmosphere. It harmoniously blends with the aesthetic of EB and is just as friendly and open as Linda. She is so professional and warm and is great for continued pain management. Her room is so inviting that you float away almost immediately. Linda is wonderful if you like variety of massage. I've had her hot stone and deep tissue and both were a revelation. If I could afford it, I would get a massage once a week. She has very strong hands and knows how to use her strength so that I get the most out of my time with her. I can really never have too much pressure and she gets it right every time. All of my friends and family go to Essential Bodyworks because they know they will get what they need every time. I tested my hypothesis by getting a massage elsewhere this week because I had an old gift certificate. I could hardly relax because I was noticing every way in which the massage therapist was not Linda. Linda's massages are seamless and perfect and I would not change a thing. Can't wait for my next massage!!
