However, there were a few things I wasn't happy with, so I went to Los Angeles to see my old dentist and had him look at the tooth scheduled for root canal treatment. The Los Angeles dentist told me, "There's nothing wrong with this tooth." "The crown is a little loose and moving, so there's some inflammation in the gums, but the tooth itself is completely fine." "It will heal quickly once the crown is removed." Two days after the crown was removed, I'm completely pain-free! So... what was that $1,000 quote from Synergy Endodontics? We were hosting some friends in the desert for a week this summer. I was chomping away on some M&Ms…read moreour first night and an old filing chipped off in the back of my mouth. I don't have a dentist outside of LA so the next morning I called several in the area and the closest dentist to take my insurance was an hour away. I ended up grabbing an emergency appointment with Dr. Kristina Pham, even though they don't accept my insurance. This freshly chipped tooth clearly needed a crown but Dr Pham hooked me up with a temporary filing that she molded into a new tooth. Very much appreciated her solving this missing tooth issue so I could resume eating M&Ms and having fun with friends for the week until I returned home. Also, she charged a very reasonable amount for this quick fix when I was expecting the worst.

Reasons for a 5 star review: - Scheduling: The front desk staff is simply amazing! They did everything they could to get us squeezed in for an appointment as soon as I said that I was in pain. They got me a next day appointment, the day before thanksgiving!! - Dentist: Dr. Blake was one of the most relaxed, knowledgeable and patient, non-rushed dentist that I've ever had. He was thorough in explaining what has happened, how we are going to fix it and next steps. - Facility: Although it does not have hi end equipment (somewhat necessary) that will show you your mouth open on a screen etc, they did a great job passing those cost savings on to me. - Insurance: it was so pleasant to see that they handled ALL of our questions with insurance proactively and didn't stick us with a bill that would be higher than expected, in my case it was lower than expected. I usually see Dr Ryan Toledo and have found him to be the best dentist I've ever seen. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and always remembers me even though he only sees me a couple times a year. I couldn't ask for a better dentist. I was absolutely shocked by some of the negative reviews on here. I think they must have gone to a different Dr Ryan Toledo, either that or they are Karens. I've recommended this family dentistry to everyone I encounter and I am very picky. Just remember, there are two sides to every story except my side is the only one that's correct. I've also seen Dr Marcelo Toledo in one of my first visits because I had to have them replace a crown that a corporate dentistry office completely botched. There were some challenges with the crown but they did whatever it took to make it fit perfectly even though I doubt they made any money because of my multiple visits. They stand by their work 100% and everyone I've encountered there has been friendly, professional and extremely helpful. Even better, they don't try to sell you on a procedure you don't need unlike the corporate dentistry offices.
