They only pay these people 8 bucks an hour and we heard all about it. The workers actually bragged about not graduating high school. They complained about hating their job and the tight wad pay. One guy claimed he never got out of Grade school ! We are both disabled and in addition to running out before they assembled a bed, they took our Safety ladder. They tried to reuse garment boxes by distracting us and ACTUALLY went into our closet and dumped clothes there. On the first day, we caught them crushing $1,800.00 suits into a 2' x 2' box. That was over $100.00 alone to get them re cleaned and pressed. They claimed to be bonded and insured. I personally never saw the bond. So, when we filed a claim, THEY REFUSED TO PAY IT. The old man Eldred could care less as he said he'd review it. Turned out, he went back to Florida. If your that hard up for a mover and have to use them, insist on a written guarantee of reimbursement up front and in writing. Any other mover has to be better than these amateurs. One other thing to do is hire a spotter to watch them load the truck. What goes on is NOT a guarantee it's coming off. Also, the crew chief was asking us for narcotics. He got an Aleve, lol. We did file a police report. Six of them were called in but nobody ratted anyone out. Figures. Hopefully our insurance company is suing them through subrogation.

Do not use this company under any circumstances. Two women packers, one of them named Lori, packed my handbags in two enormous boxes and smashed them in the boxes with a full sized fan on the top. I had to stop them and pack them myself. When I checked the wardrobes after they left that day, one of the packers had placed two of my best professional suits on top of the bar in one of the wardrobes, so I unpacked and repacked several wardrobes. My husband repacked many items from the kitchen because we were concerned about breakage. In addition, my husband and I packed at least half of our belongings ourselves (not counting the wardrobes and boxes we repacked). My husband packed his entire workshop on his own plus our fine china and crystal because we didn't trust these packers. We bought our own boxes and tape for all of this. On the day before the North American Van Lines truck was supposed to arrive, we received a phone call from Becky telling us we did not have a truck for the scheduled moving day of June 4. She said that we might have a truck in the next few days, but we did not. After numerous phone calls with North American, we had a driver from Allied for June 11. Because my husband and I left for our new home, we asked a friend to observe the loading. The moving team bounced a glass case down the front stairs and broke the mirrors in it. Glass inserts for our dining room table were broken when they arrived in Georgia. Worse still, Lori (that packer) stole 5 area rugs from our home, three of which were custom made. She put these rugs in her truck and drove off, telling our friend that we hadn't tipped her and she was going to take them. She also told our friend that we had told her she could have them, which was ridiculous. The reason we didn't tip her was because of her poor job packing. Why would we tip someone who didn't even pack all of our belongings and when she did, packed them so badly that we had to repack boxes and wardrobes? That's not why we paid for a moving company! When our belongings arrived in Georgia, we were missing so many items (in addition to our rugs) that my husband had to return to our house, pack the rest of the items, rent a trailer, and bring the rest to Georgia. When he went to pick up the rugs that the owner found at Lori's home, guess who was still working there? Lori. In other words, the owner didn't care that she had stolen our property. I'm working on our claim right now, but nothing can repay theft, inconvenience, and hardships we experienced from this business. If you don't mind theft, breakage, repacking boxes, and packing lots of your belongings on your own, I guess you'd like them. If you care about your belongings and like honest employees, run before you call Eldred. HORRIBLE experience.
