Absolute scam merchants- avoid at all costs rude and unhelpful to boot…read more My car failed it's MOT due to rear brake issues (uneven brake force) at the Salisbury Kwik Fit who decided they were too busy to do the repairs and suggested going to another branch. I work in Newbury so it was the logical choice. After 'inspecting' the car they tried to convince me that the problem was that the brakes at the front needed replacing (to solve a rear brake issue!) and became very confrontational when I asked for a reason for this work being carried out. The best they could come up with was 'air in the brakes' - despite there being no sign of this. The staff I dealt with, one of who I presume to be the manager as he was in a shirt rather than the usual uniform, we're evasive, unhelpful and In the case of the manager he tried to be agressive and intimidating using scare tactics to try and get me to agree to the work. When I declined the work and picked the car up the wheels had not ever been taken off - the cable ties holding the wheel trims in are still in place. When pressed they said they had looked at the rear drums, opened and inspected them and found nothing wrong- an outright lie. Having now taken the car to my local mechanic to have the work carried out, there was a cylinder in the rear drum that had ceased - a £20 part - and nothing to do with the front brakes that I was told needed to be replaced. For peace of mind I also had the front brakes checked and they were found to be well within acceptable wear limits and perfectly safe to drive. Thankfully I am competent when it comes to cars and actually do a fair amount of my own maintainance so was able to spot a con but I'm sure many people would have bought into it and agreed the work - and it still wouldn't have passed an MOT afterwards. So, never again will I use Kwik Fit and I will do my very best to make others aware of their shoddy ways.

Not the best experience…read more Recently booked our car in for a Full service, and specifically wanted a few extras done at the time - including Diff Oil change, and Brake Fluid change. All of this was specified at time of booking. Service day and heard nothing all day and phoned at 5pm to be told it would be ready to be picked up (they closed at 5:30pm) Raced there with minutes to spare and was given the invoice which made no mention of the extras I had requested. They hadnt been done. To say I was a bit unhappy is an understatement, but the manager was very nice and did a great deal on getting it back in and to do the extras I had requested. We thought this was an end to it all. Immediately after we got the car back, the car was not braking properly. Almost as though the ABS was coming on at very slow speed stopping. Rather than take it back to them yet again, I had a mobile mechanic check it out. The bleed screws on the rear callipers had been rounded off, and couldnt be undone to check for air in the system as this is what the cause appears to be. New Calipers required. So either BP Rolls have rounded these off upon refitting when they bled the brakes, or they were like that to start with and they did not bleed the rear system after refilling with new fluid and decided theyd just hope for the best. I also had an automated reminder for the cars MOT, 2 days after it had been with THEM for MOT and passed. All of this does not really fill me with confidence. Perhaps it was jut a blip, but it does put me off going back to them again. Particularly with the brakes, which is a safety issue

Since then they have carried out a number of jobs on my BMW. In every case they have been brilliant in diagnosing what needs doing, explaining and recommending the best way to address the issues. Their pricing is very reasonable especially when you consider the very high standards they have achieved. Their customer service is second to none and is way beyond what I have experienced before, even at a main agent. If you need anything doing on your car take it to JB Motors; it's a no brainer! took one loose wheel and tyre to be replaced. told them I was coming but over an hour and a half…read morebefore it was done. tyre fitter was rude and said he couldn't care less. might be cheap for tyres but the time wasted with them makes it pointless. I won't use them ever again and wouldn't recommend micheldever tyres to anyone I like. for the people I don't like, yeah, they're great.
