If you ever find yourself in a supermarket with an empty basket because you just can't settle for middle class, mainstream ingredients for your upcoming birthday dinner, maybe looking for premium beef cuts, high-quality deep-sea salmon, artisanal sausages, free-range organic chicken or what-nots (can these even fall under "what-nots"?) then you just have to go to Santis Delicatessen. All under one roof, you'll probably find continental foodstuff, high-end meats, poultry and seafood (even vegetables), and even European canned and packed goods here that will make the pickiest of mothers sigh in relief. If you love it here, you're probably the type who doesn't even look at the prices on things (am I right? Come on, there's no shame in admitting it). Best known for two things, their sausages and their holiday baskets, Santis has made a name as the "default" gift amongst the rich if they can't be bothered to be more thoughtful (guilty on the can't be bothered part), but it is nonetheless a great gift to receive (or even recycle). I wont complain if i receive one. So maybe when you have a little (or a lot) extra for your next dinner party or you're about to entertain the President at your own home, it would be a great idea to stop by, look around and overshop. A little extra for the next day would definitely be appreciated by the other commoners (that's your family) in your home anyway. I know I would. Angus for breakfast, and cod for second breakfast? Won't say no to that! read more
