Most items appear to be separated bulk items sold by places like Costco or BJs or Sammy's Club. I have found half case, quarter case of items being sold. Plastic bottle of water from BJs is 10¢ each. The back section has furniture and old stuff. Some of the shelves are half empty. Many packaging is taped up because the package is damage and labeling are gone. Some items are the same price you can get at Target or Kmart or supermarket when on sale. Service and help is limited; language can be a challenge with the employees who not friendly. They have a parking lot but is disorganized so park at you own risk. Is this place worth it for the discount. Not ready.

I use this Staples to return Amazon items. They are quick and unlike UPS franchises, they don't charge for a piece of tape ! If you need school supplies , the supplies here are usually a last longer and are not so cheaply made. They sell gift cards too - great if you need to grab one on the way to a party. The staff is really friendly too . Parking A+ .

Store #1602 is closing July 10, 2026!…read more I came here with the intent of obtaining printer cartridge. The building is an engineering oddity where the front faces a neighboring building located in the middle of a block and the backside faces customers who are coming from the MTA NYC Transit subway which can be easily missed. Low and behold the entrance facade affixed the store's closing signage was already a concern. This Staples location is a permanent closing. The male sales associate at the customer counter was nonchalant with head down and eyes glued to his cell phone rather than servicing customers. This same male associate's rebarbative behavior is one reason for my non-return visit. Why do you not put down your phone and service customers? Ergophobia? This store's lack of stock is very, very discouraging as the main reason is their impending store closing. This location is not a large as other Staples, but there is a small parking lot and accessible via MTA NYC Transit N and W train at Astoria Boulevard on Grand Central Parkway. As usual, no associate approached me if I needed assistance. This location carries high yield printer ink cartridge as available in stock at $51.16 which I have asked to search thoroughly, but the regular non-high yield was unavailable. I was unable to locate this product in my online search to price match since high yield ink cartridge is not a common product, therefore, absorbed the full price $51.16. Oh! I have travelled the long-haul trek from southwestern Queens via Manhattan to western Queens, Astoria and was in utter disbelief for the minimal products in stock of their inventory. I remember the 1990s era and early 2000s era where Staples were abundant and had heavy brick and mortar presence when paper and office supplies physically existed. This company had the budget to heavily advertise on TV and radio for many the Back-to-School seasons. In my youth of school days I would purchase two-pocket folders, notebooks (including spiral, black and white marble), journals, and pencils. In my adulthood of recent years, I would purchase copier paper, badge ID holder, printer ink cartridge, and sometimes pen refills, journals. Forward. In year 2026 this store #1602 is, unfortunately, becoming another victim causality of progress or evolution of digitalized/paperless. Total disappointment.

Staples store #171…read more I always have a predilection for patronizing Staples. Staples always bring nostalgia for my high school and college years attaining school supplies. I purchased my journal when I was in college in a Staples. I purchased my leather portfolio for job interview in 1998 at a Staples. In recent years I purchased Parker ballpoint refill pens at a Staples. In more recent years I purchased clear ID badge card holder with resealable zip protector. This Staples #171 sits on 51-10 Broadway, Woodside, Queens, NYC at infinitesimal Woodside Shopping Center which contains a parking lot. It is not easy to locate which is obstructed from view when coming from Northern Boulevard. This Staples location is accessible by MTA NYC Transit local M and R trains at Northern Boulevard subway station. Staff is very curt, dismissive in a negative energy with an indifferent stolid wayward behavioral attitude. Apparently all printer cartridges are placed in aisle and locked behind plexiglass where a Staples associate uses a key for access by request only to prevent the rise of thief for this particular Staples location. Unlike most Staples, printer cartridges are behind the cash wrap area where the cashier pull the requested product and ring at the register. The female cashier called another associate for assistance where it was escorted hand delivered to the cashier to prevent thief. I requested the cashier for "price match" as I did not know how where all my previous visits the cashier was kind and patient to use a handheld scanner to conduct a price match. There was no handheld scanner for this cashier as she called out "who has the scanner?" which fallen into deaf ears. This female cashier was very callous itching to free herself from my presence to do work. Ergophobia to price match? I asked for the WiFi network and access for a quick Google search, which was also acquiescence visible in her rude scowl look weaponized projectile directed at me. "Next time, you do your price match got that?" Price match printer cartridge is actually worth the trouble and time because it lowered the cost. This female cashier has no patience and unable to exhibit any kindness, utter unprofessional. She is unable to hone good communication skills either. Unfortunately, she was the only cashier with utter reluctance to serve me. Oh! Keep that negative energy to yourself woman! As always, I was prepared with my Staples rewards card. I did receive my printed physical sales receipt. Standard copier paper, one ream (discount sale price) $8.49 HP 63 black printer cartridge (price match) $28.99

If you're used to returning things over at UPS, this spot is leaps and bounds better than what they have going on over there. As for the store portion of this Staples, it's always well stocked and pretty clean. I keep getting these coupons for 15% off a purchase whenever I make an Amazon return, but I work from home and have little need for office supplies, so I haven't shopped the store. It's also convenient that this location has a parking lot.
