It was the same stuff everyone else was selling, but like less variety. However, I can say their prices were a lot lower than other shops. For example, I bought a pair of pink I Love NY pajama pants for $19.99 in size small. It was the last one. I needed a medium but they didn't have one. I ended up getting it for myself and figured I'd find a size medium in another souvenir shop. Well, I did but the same pair of PJ pants was $29.99! So I can confirm the prices at this store is cheaper (at least for PJ pants). I also ended up getting a lighter for my brother in law last minute and all the lighters by the register were just meh. I bought a lame one anyways. And then just as we left the store, they had all these other cooler lighters in the window on display. Too bad none of those were actually out on the shelves.

I stopped in here and found so many good finds for both of them and price range was decent for both a "nicer" gift and some stocking stuffer type gifts. From candles, candy, socks, self-care goodies, mini treasures, jewelry, clothes... there's definitely something for everyone. The employee also wrapped up my gifts in individual bags (which I bought there, so cute) for me and added tissue paper, tied a little bow to them as well which took a load off my shoulder as I rushed home that day.

I had to quickly grab a housewarming gift for a first visit to a dear friends new house (while my grumbly husband waiting in the car). I knew the perfectly curated store ALWAYS has an impressive array of custom scented candles on their back wall (replete in an artful gift box with box of matches = PERFECT!) So I selected a delicious Olive Blossom & Hyacinth, Amazing! And on the way to the register, passed the "guys" table and found a perfect space-themed puzzle for their young son. I asked the staff if I could get individual gift bags and in a blur of ribbons and smiles, they removed gift prices & I was handed two BEAUTIFUL gifts bags, and informed "The puzzle's in the larger bag." This whole process, I kid you not, took under 5 minutes & the dumbstruck look on my husbands face when I returned to the car in 5 minutes w two perfect gift bags was MY gift! LOL ... Thank You Kanibal & Co.! #Lifesavers

Cuuuuuuuuutest little shop in the heights! If you are in the area and looking for a gift, card,…read moresome fun home decor, a candle, even soap, stop in here and I am sure you will find it. I have been in a few times and always with my pup (they are dog friendly!) and I love browsing around. It is one of those shops where it is hard NOT to buy something. One thing I love picking up are there reusable paper towel/dish rag things. They are like $7/$8, have super cute little designs on them and take the place of like a full roll of paper towels. When they start getting a little gross, I just toss it out and pick one up on my next trip to the area. Since I always stop in while with my dog, I of course had to give in and buy him the trio of NYC themed toys. Sidenote: I was guilted into it by my pup because he literally took them off the shelf. But for $10 he now is the proud owner of a coffee cup, big apple and yellow cab plushie set. The ladies that work there are so sweet and always have a treat ready for Frankie. They are right on Palisades, near ModCup and right across from Riverview Park and are a few steps down if you have trouble finding them! Take a look next time you are in the neighborhood!

Their scents are soft and subtle and perfect for people who are sensitive to strong scents. They make their candles in house, btw, and sometimes they offer candle making workshops too. Lucky Honeybee is an adorable shop and I appreciate them being in the heights! :)

I still remember Pearl River in the early 2000s. Two full floors and the go to spot for anything and everything Chinese: snacks, dry goods, stationery, art supplies, home goods. Walking in felt like stepping into a small piece of China right in NYC. It felt layered, authentic, and full of discovery. Fast forward a few years and Pearl River moved to Broadway in SoHo. It was still two floors, more spacious, and if I remember correctly, it had an entrance on Broadway and another toward the back (I can't recall the exact cross street). Even through its moves, it retained that sense of depth and cultural immersion. I recently stopped by the current SoHo location. It's now just one floor. The layout is open and well organized, but noticeably smaller in scope. They carry a mix of items: a small selection of blind boxes, modernized gift items, Chinese art and figurines, cupware and fine plateware, a modest kitchenware section toward the back, a small apparel and footwear area, and a reduced stationery section. A small book section with more small figurines. They also carry a small but thoughtful selection of loose leaf teas, snacks, and pantry staples. It's still cute. The prices are reasonable. There are definitely thoughtful and modern touches. But if I'm being honest, it feels different. More condensed. More curated. Slightly Americanized. And maybe that's just nostalgia talking. I experienced what Pearl River once was, and that version was special. It's not bad. It's just not the Pearl River I remember.

Yeah, I might book a hotel in Santa Monica instead of the Jolly Roger in Marina del Rey (though it is eminently liveable). And I might plow through the Kohls shirts a bit more recklessly, instead of just waiting for the generous 40% clearance discounts. The place that everyone calls "Newport Mall" is not the perfect candidate for Yelp. Are you deciding between this mall and another? The food court offers several options that are quick and don't have Michelin stars but are more appealing than Chipotle. Dumpling Cafe is my favorite right now. My friends had to hang around JC for several hours while I was working and I told them they were in luck, that just beyond the office buildings was a giant mall. It's not perfect. I was fed up with movie theater talking and figured Babel at 10:40 on a Sunday night wouldn't be bad. Maybe only six people were in the house but half were on phones. But it is convenient, especially on a rainy day. Don't complain to me about the parking price since you can get here by PATH. But, tell you what, if you do wind up spending major $ in the garage, the Dumpling Cafe pork chop bowl is on me.

One of the items we purchased -- a pair of sweatpants -- had a clear factory defect. When my son put them on, one leg was much tighter than the other, making the fit completely uneven. We had removed the tag before noticing the defect, but we still had the tag with us. When I returned to the store to speak with the manager, Vanessa, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I explained that the issue was a manufacturing defect and that I still had the tag, but she refused to even look at the problem. She told me she "didn't care what was wrong with the pants" and that because the tag was removed, they wouldn't accept a return. She even made a disrespectful comment saying I "popped the tag real ghetto," which was completely unnecessary. We paid good money for these pants, and all I wanted was a fair resolution. Ever since, we've tried contacting Snipes online and through customer service, but all we're getting is the runaround with no real help. I'm posting this review so other customers are aware. Defects happen -- that's understandable. But the way the issue was handled by Vanessa at this location was completely unacceptable. I hope Snipes addresses this, because customers deserve better.

At Hudson Paperie they have really unique gift items that I haven't seen before. They also offer monogrammed gifts and New Jersey themed gifts if you are looking for something that has a personal touch. When I got engaged my friend got me a wooden and marble monogrammed cheese board from HP and I love it. In fact, I loved it so much that I went out and got that same gift for another friend's engagement. While the gift shop portion of Hudson Paperie is fantastic, I'm knocking off a star because I was not too impressed with their wedding invitation service. The consultation does not feel super personal, they mainly just throw a ton of big books at you to look through on your own. Which is not a huge deal, but but not for the price. Invites here are incredibly expensive - more expensive than most other invite avenues that I've come across. So for that price, it would have been nice to go through different styles with a consultant instead of being left to sort through 100+ books on my own. But, if you are fine with that they do have tons of styles in their books to choose from. So the selection is great, I just was not too impressed with the service for the price.
