I had a similar experience and at first assumed his nurse was the problem but I have since found that the problem is not the nurse but the doctor himself. After much frustration trying to get answers I picked up all of my medical records from his office. He wrote me a long letter telling me that he doesn't call patients because it takes too much time, then proceeded, in the letter to answer some of my questions. Seems like a phone call would have been quicker..ironic huh? His report, to my referring doctor, of his findings was riddled with errors, inexcusable mistakes. He based findings on symptoms that when asked, I specifically said I did NOT have. He cited symptoms we didn't talk about and glossed over my real complaints. He indicated a medication that he said gave me immediate symptomatic relief, and it was a medication I never took or even had ever heard of. He contradicted himself in his own report and he contradicted the pathology report that said exactly the opposite of what he wrote. I thought, during consult, as you did, that this doctor was listening..but apparently not to me but to the voices in his head. I have serious questions about his competency to practice medicine since he made such inexcusable mistakes on such very basics, one has to wonder what he might do when doing an invasive, potentially dangerous procedure.
