My dentist referred me to MOSA and I couldn't be happier after going there. They were in the same building as my dentist, so I stopped by and made my consultation appointment in person. The Old Georgetown Road Maryland Oral Surgery Associates location has the friendliest receptionists and assistants that I've met at any doctor's office. No joke, you leave and think to yourself "Yeah, I'd hang out with them" (In fact, I might hit actually up a Caps game with some later on this winter). I'm not even talking about just one or two of them either. Every person I've met there was super friendly. My doctor was Dr. Iyer. Before our first sit-down, she saw me in the office and greeted me with a smile. In the consult, she was incredibly thorough, which I can also appreciate. My X-ray showed a dense spot in the bone and Dr. Iyer recommended a CT scan of the area before the wisdom tooth extraction just to be sure that a biopsy would not also be needed (in which case, it could be done during the extraction procedure). After all that was cleared up, the wisdom tooth extraction was scheduled. There were no appointments available for weeks, but due to my own extenuating circumstances (getting married in a month), Dr. Iyer and her office opened up an earlier time for me. The day of surgery, Dr. Iyer and her team made sure I was very comfortable and that I was informed of any risks going in. The extraction (all 4 wisdom teeth) went so well that when I woke up, I asked "so are we going to get started?" without even realizing the surgery was already done. Here's the craziest part: I had practically NO swelling! No idea how or why. Dr. Iyer gave me a shot before the surgery that was supposed to diminish swelling, but I dont know if it was meant for the surgery or if she meant the healing time as well. Either way, the healing has been WAY better than I could have hoped for. There's still some pain, but that's to be expected. Just got back from my 1-week check-up and everything is all good. Only took 10 minutes, quick, efficient, and friendly as always. I can't exactly say I hope to go back, but if I ever need services such as these, I know where I'll be. Patients deserve complete transparency regarding financial policies before any work is performed. Springing unexpected payment demands on patients after treatment is unacceptable and undermines trust in the provider. Being upfront about costs is a basic expectation of any professional medical practice. The lack of transparency left me feeling misled and frustrated. Regardless of the quality of the medical care, billing practices like this are enough to make me never return or recommend this office to anyone. Patients should know exactly what their financial responsibility will be before consenting to treatment--not after the fact.

I was a little scared because root canals have such a bad rep, but thankfully I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Gamson. I was seen promptly when I arrived and felt more relaxed in just a few minutes. Also, it's clear he's a top notch expert when it comes to root canals. I had no pain during the procedure - just a bit of sting with the shots. The root canal immediately addressed the radiating pain. I was so relieved that an experience I expected to be horrible was not - and I enjoyed Dr. Gamson's charming chatter, which distracted me from my fears. I have been seen by Dr. Doring, Dr. Perez-West and Dr. Tilkin and they have all been thorough and friendly. (Dr. West is my favorite, she is such a warm and friendly person. Don't tell anyone ). The front desk staff has always been helpful with scheduling and rescheduling, even for short notice or emergency situations. They remember me and my family from appointment to appointment and year to year. They give good referrals for things from root canals for me to braces for the kids. They have comforted my kids through their first cleaning and extracting stubborn baby teeth. Overall I love this practice, and highly recommend it.
