I recently attended a wedding which was catered by Sanjay Foods. The food was awful. The food was full of salt, the pilau rice looked nothing like pilau rice. The deserts were 5 times sweeter than they should be. Please don't waste your money with this caterer. read more

My name is Vimesh from Bedford and I am married to Leena from Leicester. We planned our wedding in August 2011 at Athena in Leicester. As obvious, we wanted The Best wedding and we started planning since March 2010. Because we had seen Sanjay Foods' services in the past and experienced the quality of their food, we always wanted to book them for our very special day. Being honest, they might be slightly expensive than other caterers in the market but I guess, what you pay is what you get! Whilst searching around for many different quotes, one of the caterers asked me to go and see him in an Indian sweets shop! I assumed that the shop must be owned by him but when I found out that it was just a random shop with couple of chairs and a table outside, oh my god and on top of that he was trying to convince me to hire his company and I tell you what, I would have rather got the food from McDonald's or Burger King!! LOL Anyway, when we contacted Atulbhai to discuss the quote, he was very professional and kindly invited us with our family for food tasting. Seriously, on the day after food tasting, we didn't even have dinner at home! The food was absolutely delicious and service was just a top notch! He was also very open to all of our feedback and I was very pleased with the way he dealt with my one negative feedback. To be honest it wasn't even a negative feedback but me just looking to criticize on something and I mentioned that all of the samosa should look exactly the same colour. I don't want some light, medium or extra brown! when I mentioned that my wife just gave me that look and I knew I was going to be in trouble! LOL Even thou, picking on little thing like that, Atulbhai took it very seriously and gave me a compliment for being honest and he also assured me that on our wedding day it will be all the same! Come on, you know that cooking over one thousand handmade samosa and to get them all fried same colour, it's next to impossible but trust me, they were not far away! Through out the period of prior to the wedding, his highly classed appointed Event Manager Lai-yee Chung dealt with all of our queries. What sort of customer service would you expect from 7 star hotels in Dubai? She raised the highest standards and it would take very long time for someone else to meet those standards. Not only that she dealt with their business related queries but she involved Atulbhai (where needed) and also built a strong business relationship with Hira (Athena venue manager) and planned the whole day's itinerary for us. The week before the wedding, I even knew exactly what time I had to place the mangal sutra or kanku on! (Indian wedding traditional material) LOL We must say that as everything that had planned and promised, they delivered on the day to very high standards. Amount of positive feedback we received from our family and friends about the delicious food, waiting staff and management, it was truly unbelievable. We were so happy to hear lovely good comments about our wedding from our near and dear ones and all the thanks would go to Sanjay Foods. Having read the review of the 4 October 2010, I feel a real need to comment regarding Sanjay Foods, especially having recently used Sanajy Foods for my own wedding. My family first used Sanjay Foods for my sister's wedding 7 years ago they were absolutely fabulous in managing the whole catering side of her event. They have also catered for some community events and we have recommended them to others who have equally had a good experience with them. Therefore, having had such a good experience with them, when we started planning our wedding for May 2012, there was no hesitation in who was to cater for our wedding or in fact manage the whole event. Our wedding was one where we picked Sanjay Foods before even choosing our venue. We had a great experience with them. Both Atul Lakhani and Lai-Yee Cheung did their utmost to help us in creating the most amazing event. They not only catered for our wedding, but helped us in choosing the right venue (Forest of Arden, Meriden) and booking it, arranging our entertainment, and also the groom's entrance. Lai-Yee was our main contact throughout, with Atul always giving his input where required and they were always approachable and more than open to our suggestions and knew how we wanted our event to run. At the two tasting sessions, they were willing to go out of their way to ensure we were happy with all the items we had chosen and how we wanted everything to be set up. A week before the wedding we had a last minute request for my nephew from abroad; he has a fenugreek allergy. Most items on our menu contained fenugreek; however it was no problem for them to create dishes especially for him to have enough food on the day without us having to change our menu at all. Also, our pianist went AWOL a few days before the wedding, but within hours we had a replacement that Lai-Yee had arranged with no trouble at all. On the day of our wedding, Lai-Yee and her team were extremely professional and my parents and sister who were overseeing things were extremely impressed with the way she handled all aspects to ensure everything ran smoothly. My sister said Lai-Yee was 'brilliant'. As a bride, one is unable to do much yourself on the actual day. However, I had total faith in Lai-Yee and the Sanjay Foods team and trusted them implicitly to deliver as promised. All in all, Sanjay Foods did a fantastic job for our wedding. They were professional and friendly and delivered on the day to the highest standard. My husband and I and our families and along with all our guests had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed our wedding. We received lovely comments from our guests regarding the wonderful food, the helpful staff and the organisation of the event itself. We have no hesitation in recommending Sanjay Foods for any sort of event and would definitely use them again for future events. They truly worked hard to make our wedding perfect from the run up and on the day and helped us to create a beautiful memory that we will cherish forever. read more
