A local favorite! Whenever I'm around the Nanticoke area I always try to stop here if possible. The place is always stuffed to the gills with people so be prepared. But, they always have such a unique assortment of goodies such as cookies, cakes, pies, turnovers, muffins, you name it. Everything from the delicious desserts to the freshly baked bread to the pizza, yes, they have pizza it's home made! The service is always speddy and with a smile. A dozen of pastries is only $8 bucks! The pineapple cake I got was divine, it was warm, moist, had a little bit of a crunch to it, buttery, coconutty. Just plain delicious and highly recommended. read more

I drive 30 minutes out of my way every so often to get the pastries/cupcakes from this bakery. I can fill a large box of goodies and still not reach $10. I'm so very glad I do not live closer to this place, because I could see myself getting something there every. single. day. GREAT place. The sweet rolls are phenomenal too! read more

Soo much to choose from! Go early! My favorite is a chocolate iced, glazed donut. Light, fluffy, fresh tasting, covered in a fresh crust of glaze AND topped with chocolate frosting. read more

Best please ever, fresh baked good and great prices. They are super nice their, and always have a smile on their face.

Sanitary Bakery is one of the best bakeries in the area. I always get their peanut butter donuts, prune paczkis, coffee muffins, and the split creams. The peanut butter donuts have a glaze on the outside that make the whole donut excellent. The only goodies I have not really liked are their peanut butter-chocolate brownies. They don't have a whole lot of taste and are dry. Other than goodies, I also get their pizza. It is to die for. They are cut into squares. Their sauce is sweet and the crust has its own delicious flavor. This is probably the number one thing I would recommend to get while there. read more

I am visiting from Seattle and decided to try this bakery. Their products are delicious. However their staff were extremely rude to us. We aren't familiar with the product and needed a minute to decide. We were rushed and Pressured into deciding right now. Come on someone decide. My daughter got embarrassed and walked out. I was not intimidated and endured this rudeness. Please learn some manners. read more

Be prepared to take a number... the wait is probably the only downside to purchasing baked goods at Sanitary Bakery. Delicious cold pizza and a superior selection of sweets to other bakeries in the area give Sanitary Bakery its competitive advantage . Sweets range from doughnuts to cookies to brownies to pies. Non-sweet favorites include, but are certainly not limited to bagels, pierogies, breads, and cold pizza. read more

I went to Sanitary Bakery on 12/23/21 and due to the holidays there was about a 30 minute wait in line which was not a problem. When it was my turn I pointed to the cake I wanted and when the woman was taking it out of the case another customer said they had wanted that cake. The woman said that it was my cake but they had two more cakes so it did not seem to be an issue. I paid for my cake and left. When I got home my cake was switched out for a different cake which I did not want but I lived 20 some miles away. I messaged the owner on messenger and I said I was disappointed with how I was treated. I received a nice response and apology stating to leave my address and they would send a gift certificate the following week. I never did receive a gift certificate and again am disappointed that they are okay with not following through. I sent a message stating I had not received it on 1/18 and did not receive a response to date. I don' t need a gift certificate but following through would have been nice and would have showed that I was a valued customer. I certainly won't be returning and hope they treat the remainder of their customers better. They do have good baked goods and this review was based on poor customer service. read more

Best Bakery in the Northeast hands down!!!!!! Go early this place is always packed. The Bakery goods are super cheap & good. Wed & Fri they make their infamous square cut Pizza that is 60 cents a slice & really yummy snack. When I want good Bakery goods I drive all the way from Pittston to Nanticoke I have no problems with that, it's worth it. You will love this place. read more

It's worth the drive from NJ. Dad grew up in Nanticoke so Grandma and Grandpa lived there when I was a wee one. We always buy the Lafayettes just like Grandpa did for dessert after Sunday dinner. Oh don't forget a loaf of rye bread. read more

Everything here is amazing and they have the old timey legitimate croissant donuts that are mind blowing. Only place I can still find them!

I have only been here twice, and both times I was impressed by the great tasting donuts and the low prices as well as great customer service! The first time I went was for Mardi Gras and they had Kings Cakes and specialty doughnuts as well to celebrate, which were absolutely delicious. Can't want to go here again soon! I highly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth ^_~ read more

I have been going to this bakery for the past 40 years. Their baked goods are the best and their pizza, to die for. But if you want good pierogies, rentkos is the better choice. Sanitary's pierogies are too doughy. Rentkos is the better choice. read more

Contacted the bakery from out of state....wanted to surprise a work vender with 5 dozen cupcakes. The reviews looked awesome.....however they refused to deliver! How hard would it be to deliver a large cupcake order locally? Very disappointed. read more

One of the best bakeries around. Friendly staff. Cheap prices and great baked goods. Highly recommended!

The pastries are amazing. I ordered pizza for the first time and did not know it was par baked and cold. It was soggy, there wasn't enough cheese, and their websites never states it's cold pizza. Like it was soo cold it hurt my teeth. It was already soggy and unsalvagable so I couldn't even put it in the oven. Into the garbage went 2 trays. read more

Not once during all the years I've patronized this bakery have I ever been disappointed with any of their products. All of their bread, pastry, cakes, pizza are not only delicious but consistently fresh and reasonably priced compared to other so-called bakehouses. The staff is really friendly and the site is very clean. You won't be disappointed with your experience. read more
