I'm from Central CT and have been looking for a good shop since I work in the Bridgeport area now…read more I've been with my barber since I was a kid so finding someone trustworthy was important to my decision. I was so reluctant to choose this shop and will continue to give them my business. The shop was both clean and welcoming; I was thoroughly impressed with the service and quality of the haircut! Both Richard and Victor went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, continuously asked for my feedback, all while working efficiently. If you're looking for a new barber in this area or are from out of town, these guys will not disappoint.

Aaaaaaaah. A fine barbershop in the Bridgeport area…read more This was a true experience from booking to chair. Most men are committed to their barbers; as am I. However we're from NYC and the 2 hr. drive is daunting. So on my quest for a new barber, I found VIP and I will tell you, it is a true VIP experience. * Booking: I booked on the acuity scheduling site, it was quick and straightforward. After my appointment I learned there is an app where you can book and earn rewards. I received my first stamp at my first visit *Location: The shop is in a tiny strip mall with ample parking and other neighboring small business **The Feel*: Upscale and Welcoming...The shop is well put together, the owner thought through every stage of the customer experience and if you are someone who values quality and experience you will appreciate this shop. I cannot say enough for the feel in this one post. There were positive vibes all around, engaging conversation...one of the barbers even recommended a local pizza shop that just opened in downtown bpt. *The Cut: Of course, every barber is different however, I have confidence that whoever's chair you're in you will leave satisfied. I asked for a tape up and small design with Victor and I am satisfied. To note, all the barbers seem to be skilled; they will ask what you're looking for and even details. I heard one barber ask a guy if he wanted a round or square back, Vic asked me if I wanted pointed side burns. He even helped me choose design ideas. Good to Note: *Cash Only (nearby laundry has an ATM) *DL the app in the app store (VIP Barbershop LLC) *Choose any Barber (they all seem skilled) *Walk-Ins Welcome I appreciate small businesses that foster quality in the communities they serve and love to see them grow. Thanks VIP for the awesome experience!

If I could give no stars at all, I WOULD!…read more Very disappointing experience. I was extremely uncomfortable with the way I was treated during my visit. Instead of being respectful and professional, the barber made rude and hateful comments about my hair and was rough with it (specifically the barber at chair 4). There is absolutely no reason for anyone to be made to feel embarrassed or disrespected while simply trying to get a haircut. I would not recommend this barbershop to anyone looking for a welcoming and respectful environment. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, my experience here was completely unacceptable. I hope others think twice before choosing this place. Absolutely trash!

The haircut gets a 4 out 5. Service 5 out of 5.

Rome is burning. This once proud establishment has been crumbling since the patriarch's health…read morestarted to decline and his nephew was brought on. This young man caters to a younger crowd while the older crowd waits for the owner's affable daughter - the lone holdover from a better time. The younger man, like his particular clientele, has no class, manners, or business acumen. He cuts hair while talking on his cell phone, arrives late at the barber shop while his clients wait, and leave them in tr chair to chat with his friends who stop by. He relies on electric clippers to do a job that was once done by skill and with a steady hand. Perhaps the children lining up for their weekly haircuts don't mind the customer service, but the strong base does. A barber shop is a traditionally sacred place, a place of respect where there is a code of conduct and trust that should not be violated. This barber shop is slowly becoming more like the world at-large, and that is bad news for those of us over the age of 25. Go before noon and it's great. After noon and be prepared to deal with bro's and assholes getting their tri-weekly "haircut."
