My family and I stopped here for lunch. It's a decent takeout spot. BUT service was okay, we ordered 3 lobster rolls each should have came with a bag of chips LIKE SHE SAID! We only received ONE! I'm only complaining because it was a 95$ order. We had to remind them that we ordered sodas as well! 3 lobster rolls 2 hot dogs Fries 4 sodas Total: 95$ Lobster rolls were delicious not gonna lie about that! But 24$ it should have came with at least a side of fries or something. CASH ONLY, I mean if there was a sign it wasn't visible enough. Lucky we had cash. First and last time here...

Haven't been here in years but wound up visiting twice on vacation since it was right by the beach! I was craving a lobster roll so figured I'd try it. Now anyone who eats out often knows anywhere you order seafood these days, you are going to pay a pretty penny. This doesn't and won't ever bother me if the food has good quality. The lobster roll was twenty three dollars. It is what it is, I don't care and would order it again because it was DELISH. They gave me a generous amount of lobster that was buttery and not overcooked with a potato roll that had a light buttery toast on it. My wife got the avocado BLT that came on a long seeded roll. I'm allergic to avocado so I didn't try it but she said it was very tasty. I went back later in the week and got a cheeseburger with fried onions and french fries. This will for sure be my spot for a burger. Flavor was there, cheese was ooey gooey, and the onions were cooked perfectly nestled in a potato bun. The fries though?! Come on. They are SO addicting. They are salted perfectly and you get a generous helping. Not too crunchy and not too soft and you can tell it's fresh potato and not just fried frozen crap. Support small businesses and try this place. It is worth it.

Before I continue, I would like to say I stand by everything I said in my previous review. The service was really not great the first time around, and I was very disappointed at the price and quality of the lobster roll. That being said, I have come back to the Sandwich Bar multiple times since my first review and my opinion has shifted a full 180 degrees -- I love this place and it truly has become a go-to spot I look forward to hitting whenever I'm in OC. The non-lobster roll sandwiches are tremendous. The seeded rolls are great, and all of the ingredients are awesome. Whether it's the cutlet or the Italian, I really do love all of the sandwiches. Looking forward to trying breakfast and other offerings as well. The service has also been significantly improved after my initial visit early last summer. After many trips I have had no more issues with the phone, the sandwich bar now has a fun website, and the workers are always friendly and welcoming. This series of reviews is honestly a great example of how customers should always give places more than just 1 try -- you never know when it might just be a bad day or a wrong menu item selected. I love sandwich bar!!!!

All of these were bomb...phenomenal...10/10. The Lobster roll is the best or the chicken cutlet (add the broccoli rabe). His rabe is the best around. The hand cut fries are incredible too....they are the best fry I've ever had. I've also had the Hot Cutlet...it's a hot n' honey sauce....its BOMB and the tuna hoagie is on point too. Make sure you add the long hots to the tuna hoagie. Best food spot in OC

Had a delicious lobster roll! It came with chips. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger burger and we shared an order of fries. Everything was so delicious!

    Delicious lobster roll.

Excellent lobster roll. Run, don't walk. Rivals any Maine shack. Great service and nice location.

    Chicken cutlet special

Whoever made our chicken cutlet specials did us so dirty. Chicken cutlet special is chicken, fresh mozzarella, and roasted bell peppers. We got about 2 tiny pieces of pepper on each sandwich, which means it's very dry, not flavorful, and plain. Paid 14$ apiece for a sandwich. 0/10 do not recommend. I need to buy sauce or a jar of peppers so it's not so dry. Very sad I thought this was gonna be so good

Overstuffed pulled pork sandwich. This was after I was already picking at it too

It's not an Ocean City family vacation without multiple trips to Kessel's! During our week at the…read moreshore, we visited Kessel's three times: takeout on our first night, ice cream mid-week, and an early dine-in dinner before heading home. As always, each of our three experiences this July were fantastic, with our last shining the most. We typically do take-out on night number one, and like in years past, the food is always ready on time and prepared as ordered. We ordered an array of items including Cheesesteaks, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Burgers, Grilled Cheese, Fries, and Onion Rings. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The line stretched around the side of the building the night we stopped for ice cream, but it moved quickly. Staff efficiently took orders, prepared cones and sundaes, and kept the line moving despite the large crowd. While take-out is always great from Kessel's, I will always prefer dining in! You really can't beat the old-school diner vibes and decor, and the service is outstanding. Julia, our server, did an incredible job with our party of 7. She was highly attentive, frequently checked in, and really added to our experience. My Cheesesteak Hoagie with hot peppers may have been my favorite thing I've ordered from Kessel's to date, but it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. The burgers and wraps are also solid choices. I also ordered a fresh Peach Sundae and I highly recommend! Julia even made my sundae herself in addition to waiting tables, and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. Absolutely picture-worthy! Kessel's is a cash-only establishment, but for seven people--including sandwiches, burgers, wraps, multiple orders of fries, and a few desserts--the total was just over $100. That's an incredible value especially at the Jersey Shore. Kessel's will always be a staple of our family vacations and continues to be a highlight for our nieces. If you've yet to experience breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just an ice cream sundae from this adorable, little, retro-feeling diner, please pay them a visit. I think you'll be glad you did.

Wjat was upsetting is that we noticed they are now adding hidden costs to your meal. I had a steak sandwich with onions and peppers. They charged me $2 for onions and $2 for peppers, adding an extra $4 for the meal. The added cost was not indicated on the menu, nor did the server disclose it. Another person changed out their two slices of standard toast for a slice of whole grain. That was a $1 added charge. Visitors should check their bills closesly since Varsity Inn seems to now want to add a charge for any little thing. The following night, I had a hamburger at another restaurant, and there was not an added charge for onion. Looks like we'll go elsewhere so we don't get hit with added, hidden charges.

I stopped in for dinner around 6:15 PM and, as always, the atmosphere was welcoming. There's indoor seating, a full bar, and a fantastic outdoor space complete with games, a fire pit, and one of the best music playlists in town--often accompanied by live entertainment. It's the kind of place where locals and visitors naturally mix together, creating a fun and friendly energy. One thing that always makes me smile is the sign when you walk in explaining that the bartenders and servers may be outside and asking guests to let them know they've arrived. Honestly, who could blame them? With the fresh salt air coming off the Atlantic Ocean and the outdoor atmosphere they've created, it's exactly where I'd want to be too. Tonight I ordered the crab cake platter, served with garlic French fries and coleslaw. The crab cakes were very good, packed with flavor, and the fries were crispy, garlicky, and absolutely delicious. A simple meal done right. Everything was fresh and appealing, I eat small portions so I took one crab cake and some fries home with me. I did ask about dessert, nothing was available, I don't do sweets frequently, I'm surprised they don't request Momma Chocolate, at Bar32 to make some extras for days they are closed. My server, Bella, was upbeat, bubbly, and attentive throughout the evening, adding to an already enjoyable experience. Parking is easy, with both free and paid options nearby, plus curbside access. Whether you're a local looking for a regular hangout or a visitor exploring beyond the casinos, Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall is well worth the short walk from the Boardwalk. They also have a great $25 dinner special on the weekends, however we weren't looking to eat that heavy. But the live music on weekends at 7pm brought me in without the specials. We started with a down East blackberry cider $8, and a wanderback Hugo pilsner $7. We took our time sipping slowly while the band's set up and began to play. I think our server was more eager for us to make a food order than we were to eat yet. But when we finally did order, we chose a Tennessee Avenue tycoon salad and the "Phish" grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas. The salad was fresh but ordinary, with grilled chicken, blue cheese, egg and bacon. Spouse opted for some sort of orange dressing instead of the normal avocado dressing, perhaps it was the same one I loved on the fish tacos, a chipotle aoli. The Phish tacos were on soft corn tortillas that needed more time on the flat grill with a little oil to crisp them up! The fish was nice and white with good sized pieces in each taco. The cabbage slaw inside was wet, mashed avocado and so was the aoli, so a little gloppy but good even if it fell apart. These tacos are normally served with a side of chips, so I asked what options I had besides potato. Our server happily volunteered a grilled vegetable side which I loved until I found out it was an $8 upcharge of which he didn't inform me when ordering. That's an extreme amount, for not advising the customer prior. We stayed for a second round, I had another blackberry cider because it was delicious. Spouse switched to the Blue Horizon Kolsch, but apparently it was high test because it was $10. It was a lovely evening but, room for improvement. The band was fantastic, played all our favorites and we stayed a lot longer as a result of the great weather and the lovely picnic tables in the "garden". The beer hall has done a great job making this a fun hangout!
