I've often heard of Sack O Subs but never tried until now. Walked in for take out and left with a provolone hoagie in ten minutes. Sandwich was very good as the roll made it like it does in all hoagies. Everything was fresh and tasty. The place has ample seating if you wanted to eat there. Would definitely go back. read more

We vacation in Ocean City every year and always stop here after spending the day shopping on Asbury. I've never had a bad meal. Most recently a chicken, bacon, ranch wrap with fries. It was so big I could only eat half. I've gotten salads in the past which are also huge! There were 6 of us and we had a great server who was attentive and answered all our questions. We usually get Berenato's hoagies when we are in OC. We have gotten pizza at Sack O' Subs on Thursdays (when they have a pizza special) and thought we'd try the hoagies. Nothing special here folks. Nothing special. We got a large Turkey sub with everything on it, but hot peppers. For us, it's about quality and taste. Condi's weren't even all over the bread. Bread was fair, but not great. If the sub would have been good, I wouldn't think twice about the price. The board says it's $11.95 for a 10" and I asked if the large was 20". Counter person said yes and it could be cut into 4 pieces, but wrapped into 2. I agreed and ordered. Not a big deal, but then I'd expect the hoagie to be $24 plus tax. I was a bit surprised that provolone cheese was an "add on", but ok, now it's $30. So wish we'd gone to Berenato's! And, for the record, I asked about the pizza special and was told they weren't running it because it was a Holiday weekend. (July 4th) This really annoyed me and says something about the business. It's in the menu and they weren't going to honor that. Isn't that illegal? My Dad owns a power equipment business. We sell generators. Everyone wants a generator when the power goes out and we don't change the price. Had low expectations, but was surprised by a delicious sandwich on a tasty Italian roll for a decent price. Very similar to what you'd get from a Philadelphia hoagie shop. Ordered light mayo, and there was more than I expected, but that's a matter of opinion. Would do it again if I could. read more

A great spot in Ocean City. Ordered from here on a Tuesday night when a lot of other nearby businesses were closed. Our order was ready pretty quickly. I had the "Regular" sub (pretty much an Italian), it was very good. Their menu defaults to half subs which are pretty sizable, I'm told a whole sub of theirs is enormous. Prices are reasonable. Ordered a super chicken cheese steak with cheese fries. Super fast delivery (20 mins) Hot and fresh and super tasty!

We were told 45 minutes and I understand if it's late but 1 1\2 hours is a litt ridiculous. We called to check on it but got nowhere. They just said it was out. We received our food and surprisingly it was not cold, well the fries were. I ordered a buff chicken an I would not recommend any sandwich with chicken. So happy we stopped here for lunch. Each of us enjoyed two different specials (sandwiches) -- mine with fries and the other with homemade soup. Delicious ! The quality of ingredients, as well as the staff's hospitality, was awesome. The girl who took our orders couldn't do enough for us, and the cook came outside to greet us and see how we were enjoying our lunch. There was constant traffic, which demonstrates how good they are. Probably one of the best hoagies that you will eat in NJ (topped only by the White House). Service is pretty quick and friendly; no parking lot but there's on street parking around the block. While wandering ocean city, we decided to grab an early dinner at Sack O Subs. I got a chicken cheesesteak and my grandmother ordered a regular cheesesteak (1/2 portions which turned out To be huge!) and got cheese fries to split. The girl that took our order and brought our food was nice enough. The food was rather disappointing. My chicken cheesesteak was made with a sliced chicken breast type meat and was a bit on the chewy side. I'm not sure how to describe it but the sandwich was just missing something. The fries, on the other hand, were pretty good. Good portion size and came out crispy. I'd probably try this place again but I wouldn't get the chicken cheesesteak. Excellent hoagies, liked the option of getting a 20" to share with others. They came recommended by a cousin that lives in OC, and the hoagies did not disappoint. Absolutely love this place. We are OC residents, and we order from here at least 2-4 times/month. EVERY SINGLE TIME we are satisfied. The quality is EXCELLENT, and the portion sizes (Im a big guy) are HUGE!!!! I never expected this to be the BEST italian place in the city. Originally, i stuck to just getting subs (Hey, im from OKLAHOMA, and we do NOT call them "hoagies"), but i branched out and started getting their PIZZA and Italian MEALS. Second review as we are in full summer swing here in Ocean City and I still say this place still has some of the best value per product or other purveyors in the area. Manicotti on point . Chicken Marsala , which my dad really likes, he commented it was the best he has had in quite a long time. Buffalo chicken cheese steak was great. Pretty much everything we tried was good really. The gravy (sauce as some call or) is house made and you can tell . The ONLY gripe I have on this trip is when we were here in March we purchased a fairly large gift card for my mom and dad to use this season. When I rolled in late June we started to use the gift card. Much to my dismay the young lady at the register informed me we get no points when using the store bought gift card for any purchases . Since we got no points when we purchased it that doesn't make sense to me as this is just like cash . Had we have know we would not have tied up the amount of money on the gift card as we expects we would accumulate a few free items as we used up the value so if this is the true policy I don't recommend the gift cards. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding or maybe the awesome owner will see this and change the position , but if not that's also fine it's just a lesson learned and it won't deter me from still going there because the food is still great. read more

Thanks to a rainy Saturday, my cousin and I found ourselves in need of a beach alternative. As we drove down Asbury toward some shops, we spotted the Monkey Bread place and decided we wanted to stop. But first: Official lunch. Sack O' Subs was conveniently situated across the street [and had a funny name], so I suggested we stop in. A staff member held the door open for us as we ran in from the monsoon-like conditions. Super, super nice move! We found a table, sat down, and quickly ordered our meals. My cousin chose the chicken nuggets and, despite the menu saying she'd get six of 'em, in actuality she received a heaping portion with an equally large helping of fries. I ordered the "half" chicken salad sub, which was certainly anything BUT a half -- even though they assured me that it was, indeed, a half. I still refuse to believe that thing was a half! Nonetheless, it was great and the meat tasted fresh. I'd definitely return to Sack O' Subs in the future. Great service and lunch options! read more
