She's a positive force and as I tell all my loved ones: "she works magic" I had received wedding dress with 7 months left and it fit PERFECT and only needed height tailoring. Try it with 4 months left, still perfect. 1 month of working out later with 3 months left to the wedding, I gained muscle, the dress didn't fit anymore and I was panicking. Linda came up with many options on how to make this work. She also engrained in me the most important part about dress shopping for the wedding: "the dress fits to you, not you fitting into the dress" and it changed the way I looked at the process. She made me feel positive about my body and feeling good for the wedding. I got my Chinese tea ceremony dress with 2 months to go as well. It needed minor tailoring in the sleeves and to be taken in. Linda also took this on in addition to the white wedding gown. Everything was perfect. Linda even took time in the last appointment to ensure my sister knew how to tie up the dress and latch the bustle. I'm a first generation Asian American and don't know much about western / American wedding culture and traditions. Linda made sure she educated me and I trusted her all the way. She was absolutely worth driving from Hartford to Bridgeport all of the weeks for fittings, and was even flexible when one appointment I had a family emergency and she was able to make it all work. As I got to know Linda more, I learned she's studied fashion design and has a degree in it, she's got 35+ years of experience, and has even made wedding gowns from scratch if you give her enough time. I'm truly truly a believer that Linda works magic. I highly recommend Nights in White Satin and love Linda's work! You won't be disappointed.

The movers removed the feet and bottom wooden piece, without asking, then walked away without putting it back together. Colin came, took the feet and wood, rebuilt the broken feet, removed wood glue from many years past and rebuilt the cabinet. Once the feet were cleaned up and reattached the bottom wood piece, he came back and reattached everything to the china cabinet. It is now more solid than it had been in over fifty years. This piece has been in our family for three generations and I am so thrilled to have it back in its full beauty again. In addition to reupholstering, one needed the seat completely rebuilt, one needed new springs, and one needed the exposed wood arms and runners refinished. All three came out BEAUTIFULLY, and in eight days!! We were going to do one in leather, but the owner (based on more than 30 years' experience) convinced us to go with a synthetic leather, and it is smashing, and doesn't feel like plastic at all. We supplied our own fabric for one chair and that was no problem for them (although their fabric selection includes anything one might want). All the exposed wood was improved, on all three chairs. Pickup and delivery were prompt and careful. We are thrilled. We can highly recommend this old-school (a crammed storefront) shop for TLC for your cherished heirlooms.
