I call back this morning to be told the three previous customer service supervisors were wrong and I had to pony up yet more money. After over 2 hours on the phone this morning my call got "dropped" AGAIN. I made the rep promise to call me back if that happened. He said he would, but he has not. And I'm still without fuel. Ive done some dumb stuff in my life but choosing Amerigas in easily in my top ten. This organization needs to be held responsible for its misdeeds and beyond subpar customer service. Hard pass. Run screaming.

Then that delivery not showing up, then calling for them to tell us an order was never placed. It's the night before Thanksgiving, that of which we were supposed to host, and we've run out of propane. I've never experienced such incompetence. I guess it makes sense they have a class action lawsuit against them. They ruined my holiday completely. Stay away.

Yikes! I called McDonalds and spoke with Ryan who was to my great relief delightfully friendly and reassuring. Within a couple of hours, just ahead of the big snowstorm, Ryan had the tank topped off and the furnace warming the place before my water pipes were at risk. All this was very appreciated and provided peace of mind. Superb customer service! I am now a customer for life!

Overall, I was satisfied with the installation, aside from a few configuration changes they made that didn't match how my previous system's backup switch operated. While it took some getting used to, it wasn't a major issue, and I was otherwise happy with the system. Last night, my system developed what appeared to be a minor ignition issue. I called the company's after-hours service line and left a message. Robin, the on-call representative, returned my call promptly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly became disappointing. Before I could fully explain the problem, I was interrupted and told that the company showed I had not purchased propane from them within the past year. I was then informed that, despite spending thousands of dollars on a custom system they designed and installed, they would not service it unless I was buying propane from them. What was most frustrating was not just the policy itself, but the way it was communicated. The tone came across as annoyed and condescending, making me feel like my business and prior investment meant very little. When you spend over $18,000 with a company for a specialized heating system, you reasonably expect that they will at least provide service or support when an issue arises. If this is RJ. McDonald's policy, it should be made very clear before customers invest in one of their systems. I understand businesses can prioritize customers in different ways, but refusing to service equipment they installed simply because I purchase propane elsewhere is disappointing and, in my opinion, poor customer service. Based on this experience, I would encourage anyone considering a custom HVAC installation to ask detailed questions about future service policies before signing a contract.

I was transferred to someone who said he Absolutely had to know what was in the tank. He was unbelievably nasty. He made me cry. I asked if they could remove the tank. He yelled yes. It had snowed and it was very deep. He sent one person to pick up the tank that same day. The man was unable to removed it alone. I really thought he might have a heartattack or something. He called for help and over an hour later a truck came. The two men and truck were able to move it. It was 1/4 full. The company would not refund the money for the left over propane.

After 15 years as a loyal customer with Ciardelli Fuel Company, I've sadly switched providers due…read moreto recent issues. For years, I paid around $4.79/gallon for propane with no problems. Then I saw Dead River advertising $2.39/gallon. When I called Matt about matching a better rate, he initially offered $3.79, and only matched Dead River's price after I said I was leaving. The final straw was a boiler service call: The tech replaced a thermocouple, but the issue persisted. Turns out, one of our two tanks (which they've filled for years) was empty--they forgot to fill the main house tank. We were without heat and hot water during a big family gathering from out of town. As a 'will-call' customer, I was told emergency delivery would cost extra, though they provided 100 gallons as a 'courtesy.' Worst part: The thermocouple wasn't faulty; the problem was the empty tank. Yet they still charged the full service fee for diagnosing their own delivery mistake. I've switched to Dead River (along with several friends and even some Ciardelli employees I've heard from). It's disappointing--wanted to support a local, family-owned business, but I felt treated more like a profit source than a valued long-term customer. THEY stated that they DO NOT refund for the propane in the tanks (never told that nor signed ). We have approximately 185 gallons in the 2 tanks ($650 worth). "run it out/ use it up" was their comment -- that probably won't happen until December, SO that means that we can't pick a plan to save money with the new company !! (other companies will pay back !) (We were put on contract with them by our contractor. not given a choice). SHOP around -- check the Better Business Bureau.
