It all started with an online inquiry to reduce my insurance costs that I submitted, over the next…read morefew days I was solicited digitally and over the phone by multiple agencies from different providers to receive quotes. I signed up for that with my inquiry so I was fine with it. A few days later I was contacted by Tom Berdon from the Damadeo Agency with All State. Tom was very professional and effective, at first. I expressed I wanted to quote 2 cars and my home, provided the information, and he started quoting away. Over the course of a few days we spoke 1-3 times a day, he needed information, he had questions, I had questions, I actually bought a new car and needed to replace it on the quote, but we were moving forward. We eventually had everything we needed quoted, or so I thought. We gave Tom the nod to bind the policy and cancel State Farm, I gave him a payment method and immediately saw charges that were not what was discussed. Tom explained he had my address wrong during the quotes and that when he corrected it the prices were higher. Tom had been provided with my address at least 4 times, including for my house which he was supposed to be insuring. I understand mistakes happen and communicated that to Tom but told him I didn't understand why he wouldn't call to give me a heads up since we spoke so frequently up to this point. He informed me he didn't think it was a big deal since it was still cheaper than what I was paying State Farm. Interesting stance. Then his office manager called me because Tom asked how I'd like to resolve this and I asked for a 1 month bill credit (which still comes up $200+ short of what the mistake would cost me in a year) but it's a start. The manager danced around the topic on the phone for 10 minutes to tell me it can't be done in the insurance business, credits and discounts don't exist and that I can cancel altogether or just accept his "apology." I wish I got his name because he was worse than Tom and he's supposed to be the problem solver. A week later I figured I'd just take the loss but then I get billed by State Farm, Tom never submitted the termination letters I signed via Docusign. I contacted State Farm to confirm, it was still active and then All State to try to mitigate the disaster. In the end All State offered me a $500 bill credit which Tom's team said couldn't happen in the insurance business which is going to be applied to my account when I do come back but for now I have cancelled All State to make sure Tom gets no credit for this deal and I hope they enjoy this review. Stay away! It's cheaper and easier to buy over the phone or via the All State app. PS, I have screenshots of every quote along the way, our calls were on a recorded line, and I have proof of the pending credit from customer service.
