This was the second home in Marin that he helped us get into and we are grateful for a smooth process both times, I can't recommend him enough. After we bought our new home, we looked to quickly turnaround and sell our other home in a somewhat slower market hoping to get it sold before the holidays. Barr's team moved quickly and professionally. The staging, photography, and marketing were all done at a high level, and he helped us sell our house within a week going to market - sold well over asking. He always took our phone calls, answered texts and emails and pushed through the process without a hitch. Thank you Barr and team for making this home buying and selling experience as seamless as possible.

We contacted them several months ahead of our target date for selling and their team was very helpful and supportive in guiding us through the inspections as well as in deciding what updates my wife's family's home of over 60 years needed to attract potential buyers. The photos and videos of the property were outstanding and the staging was beautiful. Ultimately the property sold a week after listing for 25% over the asking price with 7 offers. We were amazed and very appreciative of the expertise Barr and the Own Marin team provided.

In our first meeting, Kira exuded such the perfect blend of professionalism, expertise, humor and empathic listening, we knew that she was the right agent for our purchasing a home in a low inventory area (San Geronimo Valley). Even though Kira is very established, and the founder of the Tam team at City Real Estate, she is unafraid to use old school connection strategies, like knocking on doors, to create new possibilities for her clients. Little did we know that our house purchase story would take so many twists and turns! Kira was right with us with every challenge, giving us excellent advice, navigating difficult negotiations, offering a sense of confidence, and caring deeply for our dream of buying a very special home. When our friends referred us to Kira, they kept insisting, "You have to use Kira as your agent! She creates magic!" Now, we have the privilege of passing on this very wise advice to friends and our wider community - there is no one more qualified, communicative, or committed to have on your side than Kira Swaim when buying or selling your home.

Though it was clear that I had misgivings about leaving a home I had treasured for so long, Kira was patient, understanding, and completely supportive. She found a way to balance my control-freak nature with her market-based advice in a way that allowed us both to succeed brilliantly. I can't imagine working with anyone else so successfully.

She worked…read moretirelessly to evaluate and ultimately find a profitable property with huge potential, and she negotiated the price below asking (not an easy task in Marin County!). She was invaluable in sharing her extensive knowledge about renovations, giving me quality design feedback, and sharing her vast resources of renovation professionals. As a design professional myself, I am impressed with Kim's creativity, style and understanding of residential design. When it came time to place my beautifully renovated property back on the market, she understood how to market it, showcasing what matters most to buyers with her impeccable style and taste. The property sold quickly and over ask in a tough market! During the entire process of buying, renovating, and selling my first investment property, Kim was always available to answer my endless questions or help me solve problems. There are not many real estate agents who are able to fill all the roles that she was able to fill with such professionalism and kindness. Kim is not only a savvy real estate agent, but she is also an incredibly patient and compassionate person who was able to keep me calm and encourage me to take my first leap of faith! I could not have done it without her and I am so excited to work with her again on my next real estate adventures! I highly recommend Kim to anyone looking to get the best offer on their property by making just a few smart design touches, OR for anyone who needs a realtor who can give you a creative vision of a potential property.

And, as…read moresomeone who has worked with countless agents, I can say that there is just no one like Kim Baskind. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to a friend or anyone selling their home. Kim truly is a creative genius. She takes hold of a project, no matter how big or small and takes ownership of it like no other. She finds the most affordable and clever options to almost any problem that could come up. She finds creative solutions. Kim can take a house, no matter how big, small, or funky, (no matter what could be wrong with it!) and she will find the most creative, beautiful, affordable solution possible to elevate it. She has countless resources she uses. She can find anything and she does so quickly and efficiently. She has also become more than adept with color and creates a beautiful, cohesive color story throughout all of her homes. She makes our job so much easier and working with her is truly a pleasure. The product we are able to produce, as stagers working on her listings, is above and beyond any of the listings we do with other agents. Kim truly cares. She is hard-working and follows through all the way to the end. She cares about her clients. She cares about their final result. She cares about the bottom line and she cares about creating beauty. She is always patient and professional and has a wonderful sense of humor. All of us here at The Ride Studio could not love her more. Michelle Bevilacqua, Owner The Ride Studio

Stephen Pringle - The stager recommended by Steve did wonders. The photographer provided, made some keepsake collateral.

Truly the best realtor we could ever hope to have, full stop…read more Stephen helped us buy our first home in the wildly expensive Marin market somehow. He cared about us, he was very candid when he though a home wasn't right for us and thankfully we listened to him. We eventually found the home of our dreams. It meant the world to us and we really can't thank him enough. He's a great realtor and a great person.

I met Steve in 2013, when he sold my neighbor's house in San Anselmo. I took an instant liking to…read morehim and kept his business card. (He's now been involved in 3 out of the 8 houses on our street, one sale and two purchases.) Five years later, I tracked Steve down as I wanted him to be my agent to help sell my inherited family home. The first thing he said when he came to look at the house was, "Dude, you're leaving money on the table". Thus began an odyssey of a year and a half of remodeling and renovation with his guidance. (I originally just wanted to sell the house as-is, thus Steve's comment.) Steve's wife, Kim, an interior designer, lent initial guidance on the project and provided input on paint choices and furniture. Steve kept an eye out for usable materials from other projects and showed up a couple of times with strings of café lights that helped make the place look magical. I needed to replace some rotated retaining walls and Steve provided contact information for a contractor that did an immense amount of high quality work in a week and a half. Another contractor replaced older double-glazed windows that had failed. (I did joke with Steve that if he was really a full-service broker, he'd know a discrete arsonist.) He showed up one day to touch base while I was pressure washing the carport. Steve grabbed a broom and starting brushing the standing water out, how many agents would do that? As the market was very hot, we had trouble finding a stager that was available. (I was rather dubious about the value of staging at first due to the high cost.) Michelle at Revelation was more affordable than the others and did a bang-up job. She made the house look too good for the likes of us. It's a common phenomenon that people think twice about selling their house after all the improvements are made and they go from drab to fab. Two photographers were provided, including one with a drone, that produced some beautiful collateral with twilight photos. As I ran out of funds near the end, despite acting as the GC, I wanted to help expedite the sale by having the house measured and inspections done before placing the house on the market; he provided both and lent the funds to do so. We were happy that the sale met my target price. We wanted to move to Pt. Reyes Station. We met multiple times to look at properties in west Marin. Steve met me at the county planning offices several times including a paid sit-down meeting with the county where the planning department researches the said property and guides you as to what is feasible. I wasn't aware of such a thing. It was at Steve's suggestion that we set up the meeting and we ultimately decided against making an offer on an overpriced lot with way too many restrictions. At another vacant site, Steve made the observation that there were blue lines (water elements) in the back and side that could create problems getting a leach field approved. Despite his observation, we made an offer that was rejected and I think he was relieved. Steve didn't think the seller would exactly be Mr. Rogers. I have waited a year to write this review, since the sale of our house, because we weren't done with him. We closed escrow, today, on four vacant acres in Sebastopol with Steve's help. Our ambition is to do restorative farming and to build a house that meets our design sense and needs. Few of the lots we considered met all of our criteria including zoning issues. This one does. Steve came to look at it and gave it his blessing so we went forward. There was a last-minute second offer from another party but we won the bidding with my letter to the seller. I wasn't confident with my letter but Steve gave me the thumbs up saying it was perfect the way it was. He was right since the two bids were equal but the seller chose us. Finally, to the "lady" with the two-star review who accused Steve of being in it for the money; I'm offended at the mischaracterization and feel I must defend him. I never felt Steve didn't have our best interests at heart whether it was in selling our house or buying our land over a 2+ year period.
