I would have given her anything less than one star if it were available. Dr Knoefel is…read moreunprofessional and does not perform due diligence when giving her professional opinions. She is easily persuaded by abusers of the elderly which is obvious when she provides her diagnosis of patients. I am disappointed that UNM Medical Center allows her to practice at their facility.

Dr. Knoefel is an award-winning neurologist, geriatrician and researcher. She I have worked with…read moreher for over 10-years. As a fellow physician, I find that rating sites for providers tend to be weighted more towards the negative. That is to say, a person "with a beef" with a certain provider is more motivated to give a review than a person who is happy with a provider. Sometimes "beefs" are real, and sometimes "beefs" are because a patient or family member has been told something that they are not willing to accept. In these cases, it is best to get a second opinion rather than disparaging a well-respected medical professional. I often get negative reactions when I diagnose persons with a form of dementia. Many people go into deep denial, especially as there is no blood test or scan that I can point to showing that my diagnosis is spot on. Do medical providers make mistakes? Yes. Medicine is often more craft than science. Does medicine have bad apples? Yes. It is like any other profession. That said, Dr. Knoefel is a stellar medical professional, and I wouldn't want anyone to avoid taking advantage of her great knowledge because a non-medical provider disagrees with her diagnosis.

She is telling my mother she is getting onto her when my mother is trying to explain my father's conditions. I didn't think the reviews here were that true, but they most certainly are. My father is 59 next month with stage 4 cancer all over his body and went in because he lost feeling in his leg, nothing but pain. Jill Raines, Rains, I don't know how to spell her name but she certainly is making what could be my father's last moments very memorable ones.

They also have not one but TWO TriCore locations to get your blood drawn - including one with Saturday hours! The walk-in radiology is also much more convenient. There is also an air of hospitality here. There are several small park like areas for patients and caregivers to get fresh air. I see endocrinology and neurology here. My neurology clinic is simply amazing. They are hard to get into due to the shortage of neurologists in the state but the CNP, Susan Robinson, is incredible! Susan goes above and beyond every single time. I will message her on MyChart and get an almost instant phone call back. She is so thorough and always makes me feel like I'm in the best hands. I am so grateful to her.
