I spent my entire life trying to find bangs that would actually work with my thick hair, and Karissa finally gave me the bangs of my dreams! She has also completely transformed my hair care routine, and thanks to her guidance, my hair has grown longer and healthier than ever before. Karissa is an incredibly talented stylist with an amazing eye for what suits each client, and she's a genuinely wonderful person. I always leave her chair feeling confident and so happy with my hair. Karissa has also been cutting my kids' hair since they were little and is so patient. I can't recommend her enough!

Extremely disorganized, defensive, and a complete waste of time!…read more I had an incredibly unprofessional experience here and strongly advise prospective clients to be cautious. The red flags began days before my actual appointment: 1. Deposit & Bookkeeping Confusion: Days prior on Mon 7/27, Karissa the stylist texted me asking about my $50 deposit and claiming other clients were waiting for the chair. I had already paid it, but she had no record or awareness of receiving it on her end. While the deposit issue was eventually resolved, it was concerning that she couldn't track her own payments. 2. Scheduling Mistakes: Today, of my appointment, while I was actively driving to the salon, Karissa, texted asking if I could come in earlier than 2:30 PM. I had to remind her that my appointment was actually scheduled for 2:00 PM, a mistake she admitted to. 3. When I arrived, the appointment lasted only a few minutes. I brought in standard reference photos as general ideas to ask for her professional opinion on what would work best for my hair. Instead of offering expert guidance, she panicked, became defensive, and claimed we "weren't on the same page." She accused me of being impossible to satisfy and refused to touch my hair entirely. She did return my $50 deposit, but turning a client away after messing up the schedule, failing to track payments, and refusing to conduct a basic consultation is unacceptable. A professional should be confident in their skills, manage their business properly, and communicate constructively. Save your time and find a stylist who actually knows how to handle a consultation. ‐---------------------------------------------- Tiffany, Thank you for the response. While I understand technical issues happen, cell service disruptions don't account for missing payment records or defensive behavior during a consultation. Communication & Scheduling: A T-Mobile outage does not explain how a recorded $50 deposit payment was forgotten, nor does it make receiving panicked texts about double-booked chairs or wrong appointment times while en route any less unprofessional. Calling these "simple accidents" minimizes the impact on the client's time and experience. The Consultation: Showing inspiration photos while explicitly stating what I don't like in them is standard practice to help guide the stylist. Rather than taking a collaborative, professional approach to educate or offer expert recommendations on grey-blending, Karissa became panicked and defensive, accusing me of being impossible to satisfy before turning me away in the chair. Refusing to conduct a proper consultation and blaming the customer when things feel overwhelming is not professional service. Returning a deposit is the absolute bare minimum, but it does not make up for the disorganization and poor treatment experienced today. Break‐-------- Tiffany, To clarify, Karissa did not hold my seat for an extended period. She requested the $50 deposit during our text exchange on Wednesday, July 22nd. While I initially mentioned paying on Friday, I submitted the payment early on Thursday, July 23rd. Framing this as a favor is inaccurate; her approach was unprofessional and demonstrated a distinct lack of confidence in her service. Furthermore, Manager Tiffany explicitly confirmed that Karissa's actions violated company policy. This clearly demonstrates that Karissa was operating unprofessionally and outside approved guidelines, making it even more unreasonable to act like she did me any favors..............

I just recently moved to San Diego from the Bay Area and I wanted to find a stylist who was warm,…read morewelcoming, and good at what they do. Mari fit all of those things and more! Mari is unlike any hair stylist I have ever experienced before (in the best of ways). When you set up your first appointment with her, she will be upfront about the time it takes for her to do your hair; she is non-traditional! Do not expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. You are not "just another" client to her. She puts so much time and effort on your hair and you will feel like royalty when you're in her chair. She listens so carefully to your hair goals and wants to make sure you love your hair when you leave. She is also so wise, and you will feel like you have been friends with her for years! I took a risk with her and went much shorter than I usually do, but she made me feel awesome and confident doing so. My hair has felt so healthy and happy ever since. It's been about 9 or so weeks since she cut my hair, and it is *just* starting to get to the awkward phase. Luckily I have an appointment in a few weeks and I cannot wait. I highly recommend her! :-)

A hidden gem in idyllic Kensington! In major need of some highlights, I found Kensington Park Salon…read morethrough Groupon. I was a little worried at first, since I didn't see any reviews for my stylist anywhere, but I did see the salon seemed to have consistently good reviews all around, so I trusted their reputation. I called and texted with Alisha to easily make an appointment within a week, and she also confirmed with me the day before. I arrived at the salon (free parking!), which is cute, comfortable and very stylish. Alisha was friendly and warm, and listened to my requests to only lighten the regrowth (less damage to the ends). The time flew by as we talked and she put foils through my hair. She is super professional, knows what she is doing, and it was one of the fastest highlighting processes I've ever been through. The best part was, my hair looked Amazing when she finished. She even gave me some curling tips when she styled it. I was able to curl and recreate what she did later for a photo shoot. Thank you Alisha, you have gained a repeat customer!

I am a professional makeup artist contracted by this company, and I can tell you these folks…read moregenuinely have been abysmal to deal with from an employee standpoint and I'm not sure what that says about them as a company, but I would NOT trust your credit card number with them. They pay us via their own online payroll system and we have to login to to transfer our funds to a bank account or Paypal. After working a few jobs with them, my account was hacked and someone was able to login, add a new transfer method and transfer my wages to their account within 4 minutes of my being notified of a "new login". I saw it immediately as I was on my computer when it happened, and changed the password, but it was too late. They had transferred funds to a Paypal account that was named with my last name, so it's obvious that there was some kind of data breach in their system that allowed for someone to strategize this and did this either to track their transfers or simply to fly under the radar and not be noticed. I didn't share my password or login with anyone, nor did I have any other login attempts or hacks on any other account so it's obviously stemmed from wherever this data is being stored. This also obviously was someone that knew their system well enough to be able to do this so quickly in spite of their website backend being a little strange to navigate. After completely ignoring multiple emails, their controller finally responded. I was shocked at the lack of seriousness in the company's response. I could not imagine why any company would not take seriously that their data is so not secure, that their employees wages are straight up getting stolen. Who runs their company that way? When I finally did get a response, the controller was not only NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT apologetic or empathetic for ACTUAL WAGES from hours of SKILLED WORK getting stolen from THEIR lack of security in THEIR unfortunate excuse for a payroll system, but when asked what the company was willing to do to rectify or assure me that I was safe to continue working and this would not happen again, she simply responded by denying that this has ever happened before and saying there was nothing she could do. I was floored. Any company that handles their employees and their online security this way has no ethics (at best) and can absolutely not be trusted, especially with your data and credit card info.

Due to my hairstylist's sudden emergency I was stuck with extensions in my hair and no way to straighten my own hair. I looked on Yelp to see what is nearby that I could drive to, and low and behold I found beGlammed and couldn't believe San Diego finally had a mobile glam squad. I got online and had an appointment booked in less than 2 minutes. Chanel arrived at my home, on time, and with a dazzling smile and YEARS of experience under her belt. An hour later she left and then I had a dazzling smile on my face because my hair looked amazing. beGlammed you just found yourself a customer that is going to have a lot of fun with your experts.

And she never asked me what kind of blow out I wanted. My blow outs take around 90 minutes and I was in there within less than an hour. There's a place that specializes in blow outs in the same plaza, I'm beating myself up for not going there instead. It just looks like I got my hair straightened !!!! Like why would I pay $70 just to get my hair straightened. She asked to use the flat iron and I said yes because I could tell the way she rounded my hair with the brush wasn't going to hold . In the end, when I seen it looked like all I did was get my hair straightened, I asked her to flip my ends, she didn't even know what I meant by that, I thought that's what she was doing when she was going over my hair with the flat iron. I was so over it at that point. There's a section of my hair that's still damped. This is supposed to be for my birthday . I am so pissed. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I'm honestly a lil offended like do I look like I don't know how to wash my hair and straighten it myself ? Why would I make an appointment for that?
