We have three young children and have been seeing Kelly for over a year. Kelly is habitually late (40 mins or more) for all scheduled appointments no matter what time of day. He has an obvious disregard for his patients valuable time and work schedules. On several occasions we have had wrong measurements and he has missed routine shots that has forced us to come back to yet again wait around. Today Dr.Kelly Schmidt was a full 50 mins late to his first morning appointment. When asked what the delay was, his rude response was the last straw for us.....he is as arrogant as he is unprofessional. We will be taking our children elsewhere. Cedar Falls deserves a better doctor then this guy.

before they moved there practice i loved seeing christason my son had a check up at 430 and a midst…read moreme working i needed my mom to take him and she was running behind i called them they said be there by 545 or they will reschedule they were in the lobby by 545 and when they got upstairs to the 3rd floor the nurse was not only rude she was very nonchalant as to why they couldnt see them because it was too late and she was ready to go home in 15 min mind you my son wasnt just there for a well child check he was also there for a severe burn he had on his right hand do you think they cared to even check it !!! noooooo!!!!! i will be switching providers you should not be in a field of business where you deal with patients if all you care about is a check and clocking out on time !!!!!! even if we would of showed up on time we would of still sat in the lobby for 15 min so what did it matter !!! ive been seeing christason for over 10 years and as much as i love him as a physician i hate the rude ass nurses in his office i will be switching !!

On 05/28/2022 I (short story) collapse in my backyard while my daughter, her family and my neighbor…read morewere over for dinner from 5 until I was taken to Allen Hospital by ambulance (7:16) where I had been given several test (stroke, aneurism, seizure, amongst others from what I had been told). Then airlifted to Iowa City. Allen's urine test had shown Opiates, Amphetamines', Benzidines and THC (Basically, a suicided cocktail). 3 hours later Iowa City's Urine test had only shown THC. When I had been released from the hospital I had my family doctor do a urine test and send it to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota for a intensive urine screening to show ANY thing that could or could have been remotely be in my system. Of which THC was the ONLY thing in my system. Which I hadn't had since the 28th at 5:30. I called Allen Hospital to try and fix the situation and have the incorrect data stricken from my records because I had sufficient proof that their test were NOT accurate, possibly not even fully mine. Of which their answer was, in short "no, we can't remove incorrect information once it has been entered". I don't thin I could trust Allen Memorial Hospital any longer to bandage a papercut on my finger without screwing it up and amputating my leg. If anyone has had a test from them that was inaccurate I hope you have had better luck than I have had. Even the attorneys said that "do to regulations (and other legal mumbo jumbo), I'm more or less screwed. I can have my argument entered into my file next to their findings but anything else would be impossible to achieve. Between Unity Point (Allen Hospital) and Mercy (covenant), in my area I am pretty much out of luck for a competent hospital.

So I went to convenient care they close at 8pm I walk slow but was there by 753 the nurse was just…read morelocking the doors but was ok with me walking slow and let me in which should be the case as I was there before 8. The nurse was nice but the receptionist said something to her and the nurse said they were just walking in when I was looking the door. The receptionist had a patient at her desk RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and said TOUGH to the nurse about me. It was finally my turn and I politely said to the receptionist "is it a problem that I came in at this time?" She yelled at me with "yes it is!" I said what is the problem? The hours say open til 8pm. She said ITS 8:03. I said ma'am I apologize I do walk slowly but I just had surgery Friday. She said THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM I DONT CARE! I said oh wow maybe you should have a hysterectomy that you didn't want to have and have to go to a dr like I am here, that you dont want to go to and we will see if you care then. She said YOU SHOULD HAVE CAME EARLIER I DONT CARE. At this point I asked for someone else to help me she said THERE IS NO ONE ELSE. I said you need to get me a nurse or even better a dr. She said NOPE IM GOING TO BE CHECKING YOU IN. I said what is your name and she said you can ask the nurses. At this point I'm bawling and do not say another word. I get called back and I tell the nurse who let me in once I get to a room what happened she apologizes and tells me the receptionists name. When the nurse leaves the room the Dr comes in right away, I tell him what happened and he apologizes and proceeds to tell me that there have been atleast 5-6 other complaints about this receptionist and the director is investigating. I ask for the number to call and report the incident and he happily gave it to me and gave me the names of the assistant director and director, he apologized over and over and said he will also report it. I do not think the director is really going to take care of it, if he was it would have been taken care of 6 complaints ago.
